Yep. Wearing the No. 1 uniform with sword bearers. But usually its the groom who wears that. So far no bride ditch their WG to wear the No. 1 uniform. My SO thought its cool to change the tradition and I wear it instead of him wearing the uniform.

Paid 1.6k for airfare... Accommodation I've checked the prices, for hotels have to expect $120 and above per night unless you want to opt for guesthouse which is a cheaper alternative but I don't like the idea of sharing the toilet with so many unknowns!

Budget 3.5K for AD gowns & suit + videographer

Photographer I will engage seperately.

In the end I signed up with Feline Bridal. I am actually doing up a post on my wedding blog as to why I chose feline bridal together with some reviews and feedback. Hi everyone! Updates on my side n good news for couples who are still considering venue.

I will be holding my wedding 21/10 at novotel, wedding photos done in tw from franceparis and AD gown rental from JB Destino.

A little recommendation for couples on budget. If you are still looking for venue, novotel is currently having an early bird promo. 2088++ off total wedding bill if u confirm before 9 jan! I would prolly be saving about 7k off my total bill which is WOOOOOT!!!! Those who have a budget, you may consider novotel. Their wedding coordinator (Ganesan Gowri) is a wonderful woman. She answered our queries even without us asking! Nice to speak to, experienced and attentive. I chose novotel cos of budget and the phoenix ballroom was what i wanted - high ceiling, pillar-less. Though hotel and ballroom may not be as easily located, it wasnt a big issue for me. smoking room directly beside the reception area (guests dont have to walk out! How cool is that!) And toilets are just right next to reception too.

My hubby and i were contemplating between pan pac marina and novotel but we chose novotel cos budget and service. Pan pac wasnt as helpful although it has a really beautiful ambience and name of hotel does make a big difference (so does the budget too).

So my update is done here. Cheers to coming 2015 BTBs! :)

Since there's red, I believe they will b more receptive? My color theme is black, white & gold.. No complaints yet
 
Cos the 2 colours red and black quite prominent. But so pretty! @G&Z cos the rest of the elder relatives haven come ma. So haven see cannot say. Hahaha :X

Ah okay.. To me, my parents n his parents opinions matter.. Not the relatives.. They did not complain about the colors so I'm going ahead with that theme...

And I think nowadays a lot of weddings have dark colors, think they also quite used to it.. At least there's red, I dun have any red at all

Ooh haha did you already book mandarin orchard quite early? Cos when we enquired in Oct last year it was already reserved.
 
Hehe nope, we booked in Nov. We booked the smaller ballroom for max 22 tables (imperial ballroom) at level 35.. Maybe you were referring to the other ballrooms?

Yea I was talking abt the grand ballroom.

Anyway, settled VG a month ago and finally decided on the PG after almost 3 months of search! Relieved and happy. Time to move on to pre-wed shoot recce and maybe think about first march in video.

I think better start to book ur actual day photographer and/or videographer. Cos the popular ones get booked up fast!
 
Both are independent and relatively unheard of. My VG is a friendly and chatty guy who does not have any presence online except a small YouTube portfolio:

For PG I'm going with H&V.

He's doing it part time but his photos really spoke to me. The expressions captured and overall colour adjustments have gotta be one of my favs among those I've seen.
Another thing is, his straightforward package hours of 5.30am-4pm for lunch just makes so much sense to me unlike others where you hafta take into account early charge and all.
 
Anyway after ploughing thru so many portfolios I really think that both photography and videography are a matter of personal taste. For the feel I'm looking for I've seen packages ranging from $800-$3000 for either PG OR VG. Just glad that my eventual choices don't ask for the sky in terms of prices.

The biggest takeaway, I feel, is you can only trust their online portfolios so much.

I strongly recommend making it a point to view their past deliverables during your meet-up, i.e. the end product that you are going to get. It's worth going thru the 600/800/1000 photos that the PGs promise you because they tell you a lot about how they work throughout the day. I also requested to watch the final full day highlight DVDs including the uneventful banquet reception and farewell handshakes for a couple of VGs to see how they cover whatever we don't get to see in the SDEs in their online portfolios.

Haha sorry for the verbal diarrhoea. I think you can really sense my relief.

I asked most of the questions on the list (those that applied).

I think it's important for you and your fiancé to know the photog or videog as a person. This helps as you will know if you are able to communicate with him on the same level, and also for him to understand you both on a personal level so that he/she can bring out the best in your photos and videos. Yes I'd def recommend meeting whoever you shortlisted. Besides clarifying doubts about the AD procedure/logistics/payment schedule, it is an opportunity for you to see the person for yourself and decide whether you think he is someone you can trust your big day with. The person you engage is going to be around you the whole day. His demeanour and attitude is going to affect how you and your friends and family feel. I think at this time it's good to trust your gut instincts. If you think he's not your kind of person, find someone else.

Also as I mentioned, take this chance to look at samples of past deliverables and see if they meet your expectations. I've met a couple who posted a handful of beautifully composed and edited shots of each wedding online, but when you view the full set it may be a completely different feel, or the handful may be the only good shots you get.

It's a hassle but I definitely do not regret spending the time and effort.

Hi everyone!

Am new here. Just decided to have our wedding this year and starting to plan now. Hope I am not too late.

Already got 6 date from my zi wei dou shu master and most likely will chose the one in October.

Other than that, we have a Bluebay photoshoot which we be going to taiwan in March.

I really have no idea where to start :(
 
If you do not have a venue in mind yet you can start looking then when confirmed the dates you can booked the location alr, hopefully there's still slot on your desired date as it's almost February now.

then can start looking for Photographer/videographer etc. I'm waiting for my dates before I can book the rest.

Friends keep telling me that I need to find gown for my AD soon.

Photographer/videographer... any recommendations?

I would advise you to start looking at venues with your partner now as it takes some time to finalize as both might have different opinions. And also I think the chance might be a little slim because I went to a few and most of them are taken till end of the year.

Moo media (if u got no budget cos he quoted me $5.8k)
Bobbykiranyeo?
Iris wave?
Bokehlicious ( my brother used both iris wave and bokelicious ) and I think their works are not bad.

I haven decided on my PG/VG because my AD is next year and I'm still waiting for my dates.

I totally agree with princess.. First thing is venue.. if u need mtm gown then that's the next thing that you need to do becoz u may want to wear ur gowns for pre wedding shoot...then PG/VG
