(2012) 2012 Brides to be

suesue & mag: yeah in front of reservoir. hehe thanks!

xiaoyan: you have any hotels in mind? I've attended my friend's solemnisation at the legends before. It's not too bad. But not a hotel though. Are you doing a lunch, dinner or buffet at the hotel after your solemnisation?

Hi Mag, actually i have SMC, M hotel & Intercon in mind.

Hi mUiLaMaN, i wanted a lunch at the hotel

HiShanna Ting, i looking at function room

xiaoyan: i've been to intercon for a lunch banquet before. the food is not bad and the ambience is very nice too. maybe u can go do a site visit and see if you like the place? Tried SMC b4 too but the food not as great though. Personal preference la. Ambience wise not too bad.

xiaoyan: yah intercon is quite pricey. some hotels that I think are not too bad - grand corpthorne waterfront, amara at tanjong pagar, meritus mandarin, marina mandarin, pan pac. but got to see your budget and whether you like the place not.

xiaoyan: yup yup my geomancer gave me my wedding date based on our bazi, supposedly more accurate. u intend to look for geomancer as well?

Hi Ladies,

Does anyone know what the average price of a pair of wedding bands cost at Lee Hua/Sook Kee? My FH and I are looking at a pair of bands in Australia at the moment and we don't know if we should get them in Spore or in Australia.

xiaoyan: i see. typically geomancer charges cost about $100 to $200 depending on who you approach. best is to get referrals from your friends so that you know whether they are good or not.

Cupcakes&Cream: From what I can see, 1 pair of wedding bands at Soo Kee can cost around 1k+ to 2K+ depending on the cut and design you choose and how many diamonds there are. hehe hope this helps.

Hi Muilaman,
Say if there are no diamonds. Just a pair of plain bands? How much do you think it will cost? Thanks for replying to my message btw
happy.gif

Cupcakes&Cream: no worries. if totally no diamonds for both, I think it can go below 1k per pair for white gold. I was looking at those with diamonds only. hehehe. There is this design that I saw from love & co and it cost 700+ for 1 ring not a pair. It contains very small diamonds.

My engagement ring was from lee hwa, i think their service is really good. My diamond not very big carat la but the colour is D and is only 1k+ so i think is quite worth. Maybe you all can go lee hwa take a look. =)

xiaoyan: I was thinking either soo kee or love & co. but love & co abit pricey though their designs are really beautiful. aiyah my bf has alot of requirements - dont want too thick, dont want too thin, want platinum rings but dont want to be too exp. how to find such a ring. faintzz..

cupcakes&cream: if u get from aussie, if next time anything wrong with the ring, very troublesome to "change" or "mend" it.
if u r getting plain rings, i think would be quite cheap.. make both less than 1K.

Muilaman: my WB aso from Soo Kee, Wykidd Soong designed. $1,398 for both rings.. Mine got loose diamonds, his dun haf but both is a twist of rose gold and white gold.

My proposal ring waz from SK.. 0.21carats, J colour I think, $800+.. if wanna get, better to get .3carats n above then got int'l cert..

Shanna: Mind sharing the stats? I thought of upgrading it, bought last year... Like so long liao! Ahaha
Anyway mine from Soo Kee, color D, cut VVS1, carat 0.3*small small only

@ $1.7k

Thanks so much for the prices ladies! Its very much appreciated.

@Shanna: We both live in Australia so it should be ok. We will be going back to Singapore at the end of the year to spend time with my family. My fiance likes the two collections below. We will be checking them out on Saturday. If they are going to be more than $1k for the pair, I'll try to convince him to buy the bands in Singapore then. Perhaps I can get him to claim GST rebate when we leave Singapore too... kekekek :D

Btw... is Love and Co something new in Spore? I've not heard of it before...

wanni: yup quite expensive cos of the BR itself. cost my bf close to 10k for about 0.6 carat. some said its not worth it for the price but i feel its good. so probably won't want something too expensive for wedding bands. hehe

suesue: Did Soo Kee give you some membership card or something? You know what it is used for?

Cupcakes&Cream: L&C specializes in solitaires and wedding bands. their rings are unique and pretty. most of the brides here seem to get their wedding bands from L&C.

Muilaman; ur proposal ring cost $10k for 0.6 carats? Wow muz be the best colour n clarity!
Yupz, got both mbrship card for SK n Soo Kee. Think got 10% discount for purchases and more discount on bday mth if I'm not wrong...

shanna: not me too. all who i know, total 5 couple all didnt get it too~

cupcakes&cream: love and co solitaires diamond has a series number in it. something very different and unique too

Hi Magdal,

Most good solitaires will have their serial number engraved on them right? I have a rock from The Carat Club and it had a number on it and I was told to get it insured asap. I'm not into diamonds so that's the only rock I have.

Had a look at Love & Co website. Their rings are quite nice. Fiance still prefers the Aussie ones though...

mag: was very disappointed. Acacia didnt get it too. sigh~~

Wanni: mine is a 0.5 carat,E colour, VS2, arnd 2.3K if i rmb correctly. but its the normal series.

we initially wanted to get my E ring rock there, cos some of my frens told me it would be cheaper there. but just nice there was the GSS so we bought here instead. =X
L&C is not new in SG, been arnd for some time alr.

Cupcakes: ohhhh icic~
actually since both of u r working n living there, shld be OK to get your bands there.
happy.gif

will u be tying the know in SG or melb? if in SG, just make sure u check your bands properly (ie size n engravings, if any, etc). if no prob shld be okay de.

Hi Shanna,
The main ceremony will be Melbourne. I think many of my family members will not be able to fly over for the wedding so we were thinking of buying them lunch in Spore and to do a tea ceremony at the same time. Where did your cousin at married? My fiance and I are planning a garden wedding party
happy.gif

cupcakes: im not really sure where they married, cos they held 2 seperate weddings in SG n melb. mainly melb was for his wife's family n relatives. but i think it was at a church.

garden wedding! niceeee~ my initial plan was to hv a garden wedding too! haha. but changed of plans.

@Shanna: If the weather holds up, I think it would be a really fun party with live music and dancing...Kinda looking forward to it

@Xiaoyan: I've been sick all week... ran out of MC but boss doesn't want me around spreading germs so she told me to take the day off to rest and home and recover.

@Shanna: We've booked the Melbourne reception for Dec next year and am planning for the tea ceremony in Spore for Jan 2012. I'm so looking forward to nice warm weather... its been a terrible cold winter this year.... *burr...

cupcakes: oh yes! it's freaking cold! htb hv been complaining! i went there last spring during sept n it was alr pretty chilling, i cant really imagine how's winter! Dec shld be warm n cozy.
