just to check, do we need emcee for the solemnisation ceremony?

i think it's better to have. i was a jiemei and the emcee for my friend last yr. was supposed to be the emcee for dinner den last min ask me to do emcee for rom too. it's better to have cos u need someone to announce the arrival of the bride with the father.
 
Kitty, Solemnise need emcee also ah? I tot the JP will do the introducing and the talking? hmm.. But normally emcee for solemnise say what one ah? Lols..
 
Mi also looking at SDJ now. Went to a few shops, they are selling the pure gold 999 and the 916 gold. Hmm.. which one is better?
 
that time i only talked abt some housekeeping rules and announce the bride and the father. the bride will then walk in with the father. when they reach the table and the bride is handed over to the groom, the JP will take over the talking.
 
Raine = of coz 999 is better.. but more X.

999 = design more old style..
916 = more trendy.

Hey Michelle, frm e earlier msg, you bought some dresses for ur JM. So are they wearing the same dresses on ur AD? Are they okay to wear the same dress? Are they all about the same size?
 
Raine, For gold I haven go n see or recee with mil yet.. Cuz now Qing Ming mother say buy later. But i buy e design I like rather den take the most "wu hua" one. Cuz I intend to wear when I'm older. Cuz u might like yellow gold when u r older, u won't know rite? Haha.

The dress is in e same colour but can be worn in diff styles! But heard from my jm they wanna wear the same style. I have 5 jm 2 of them are of a bigger size. But they canfit into that dress, btw, when I purchase, I also nv get their measurement! Cuz it's spandex material.

hey all, do u all eat tang yuan in the morning on AD? is it for all dialects? my mum say is eat egg with mian xian....which is which ah?

and when do we light the dragon and phoneix candles? when groom leave hse to fetch bride?
 
Wen, for in e morning can eat tang Sui, tang yuan, or egg. My mother say tang Sui better cuz cook more other ppl can eat. I will eat it at my hse and maybe his hse.

For the candles, feng candle at groom hse is to be lite before the couple step in the hse for tea ceremony. dragon one which is kept by bride side, is to be lite up when couple is back for tea ceremony too. No need to lite same time. So must call before or when reaching to coordinate well.

And the pj for Shang Tou got to have a pocket on the chest area and long pants.. Reason, I'm not too sure. This is the tradition la. :p I'm wearing on of the set my mother bought long time ago but nv wear at all. So no need to buy.
 
If we are gg to hotel for tea ceremony, do we hv to lite the candle at hm too? Or do we lite the candles both long and feng at the hotel? I doubt the hotel will let us do so.
 
Ermmm about the candle thingy, the Chinatown shop did not give the same instruction to me...aso hokkien eat mian Xian with egg, need to break the egg too...aiyo so confusing...
 
Wen, I Dono.. Some is I heard egg need to break but cannot eat? I will just follow wad my mother says. To be simple.

Did my food tasting today! Food quality was very good and we were generally very pleased and also very surprised by some of the dishes served. The chef also came out, we gave him our comments and he offered suggestions for the dishes. So we are quite happy! Hope the quality keeps up for the actual dinner.
 
Kass, I don't pin much hope for the ad food. Haha.. As u all long alot of food cooked Tgt is alittle hard to control. Lol.

As long as the ingredient are fresh and taste good for all I will be happy Liao..

Cuz my food tasting everything is perfect also. Haha!
 
my future mil gave me SDJ in gold, then my mum will be buying white gold for me. cos i wan to wear it everyday so prefer white gold.

for my AD schedule, cos me and my htb's house are quite far away, so i will do the tea-ceremony at my house first then go to htb’s house. My question is do we need to wear kua in groom’s place for tea ceremony? Or only need to wear at my house?

Both our parents not sure, haha. my BS told me wear kua at my house only. No need to wear at groom’s place.
 
Btw, I’ve collected my wedding album, portrait and tabletop! Very satisfied with the album quality…happy!

We also confirmed AD mu and hairstyle with my mua liao…I will be having 2 kind of hairstyles at night..hehe. my htb also completed our childhood montage. Now, he is doing our pre-wedding photo montage…
 
Hi michele, my sdj fro my mum is white gold n rose gold mix. Fmil haven't decide on wat to buy. She can't make up her mind on either getting sdj or long Feng bangle(coz they r hokkien) I leave tat decision to her. Too sianz to think abt tat.
 
the last time when i was the jiemei, the couple will go to the groom's house after the groom came to fetch the bride. they will do tea ceremony in the wedding gown. after that they will proceed to the room to eat tangyuan. after that the bride will change into kua and go back bride's place.
 
Raine, Mo, my mother also ask me to get Gold from MIL. haha.. cuz it dont sound nice in mandarin.

My mummy also giving me gold. =) My dad had resized the ring they bought.. =p

Kitty, yes, that's the correct procudure.. but for couple staying very far, travelling is a waste of time.. so if both parents agreed, tea ceremony can be done at bride's place first. =)
 
Kitty, can help me ask when to light up the dragon-phoenix candle and 3 long joss sticks. the lady in JB advise me to light up when we wake up on AD. the 3 long joss sticks in the middle, den the two candles at each end.

I will b wearing kua for both sides. esp for my side, cos my mother likes to c me wearing kua. The picture of the kua is in my FB.
