Carrefour having wine fair... damm... can someone help me see if they Brown Brother Moscato will be up on sale please?

Ladies... need your advice here. Should one of the immediate family members become really sick and may not have a long time to live... what happens to the wedding? Does it still proceed as per normal?

cupcakes: I'll keep a lookout.. where's that wine from? sorry I have no idea, but it'll help when I'm there cos they group wines by their country of origin.

depends on your family. in chinese tradition, the wedding gets postponed. it's kind of worrying for me, cos my granny is really old, so I hope she pulls through. I've always, always dreamed of her attending my wedding :D

cupcakes, really depends on your family. for me my aunt is her last stage of cancer, my granduncle's cancer has come back, and my husband's grandfather also left few months only. however due to our family culture, it does not affect us, in fact my aunt joked to me she will RSVP as "attending only if i'm still alive!"

of course... if... you know... then it is a different story...

but i think considering your situation you will need to consider all the more... hope everything goes well with your family especially your granny.

cupcakes, I agree with DL and krazi; it depends on family. Though my grandparents had passed away, I believe they would attend my wedding if they could.

Jan 1 couples, remember to file your Notice of Marriage on the ROM website!

On a separate note, thanks ladies for sharing the photobooksingapore link, 40% off is superb value! Only thing I just read this thread, so rushing to put together something before the offer expires 30 Sept EST (12 hours behind SG time) :s I foresee a very sleepy day at work
sad.gif

regina~ you don't have to rush, the 40% off offer is still valid in Oct, just need to input a different code. u get a chance to win the trip to bali too. but i didnt want to take the chance in case there wasn't the offer anymore (it's really unaffordable without the offer) so i sent mine at 11+ last nite anyways haha! kiasu!

anyway if you are doing anything for the wedding, you may want to opt for matte paper cuz it is more premium. however they are out of matte paper until 15 oct. currently what they are using in the interim is a paper brought in from Italy called Tintoretto Gesso, apparently it is more costly and even higher grade, very beautiful texture. usually can't get it at this price. but they got no choice as they are out of their usual matte. so it's a good time to send now before 15 oct to enjoy the excellent grade paper. FYI.

I went to check out the wine fair at Carrefour today after service at New Creation. Phawh! The browns brothers at is get for $9.50 at the winery is $25.90 here! *faint*

I think I'll ask my guest to drink 7up and Coke :p

krazimitzi> that's some serious research you've done, how did you find all that out!? I stayed up until 5.30am on 1 Oct to finish the layout and finalise the order (so heartpain for my loss of sleep that I ordered 3 copies of the guestbook - faint), only to find out the next day that the bloody promotion is extended. &^!@#^~_#)!

regina~ no la not research! i just gleamed all that from their facebook page haha

jasmin~ just1book is not bad, look for Wilson. they came from a company that only did trade photobooks, meaning they only work with professional photographers to do photobooks that the PG will then sell to the customer, thus only B2B. just1book is their foray into B2C, retailing directly to customers. their prices are a little on the expensive side, but their paper finishing is damn excellent. well, i suppose you get what you pay for. they are very friendly and will guide you along the way. it's good because at least they have a showroom where you can go down to take a look at the samples. and convenient to go collect your album too (save on shipping). for your consideration.

krazimitzi, thank you for your recommendations. think i'll heed your advice and go to their showroom to have a look to have a better feel of it.

By the way Eva , You can use the micosoft window movie maker.its pretty easy =D

Brandon, my solemnizer is Dr Phua Tan Tee. He has good reviews. Good luck, hope you get your choice
happy.gif

Welcome Eva! My htb just handed a box of childhood photos to me. I'm going to start on the childhood montage too.

Lish, Dr Phua is very helpful and friendly. was chatting with him over the phone. too bad cant arrange to have him as my soleminiser.

what software are you using for your childhood montage?

I bought the convertible dress from tdc already. I bought coral pink. It's a really real nice colour for wedding jiemeis. Sweet pink is abit too translucent cos the pink too light. But not sure abt the remaining colors though. Material ok. Silky texture. Not too short, gd for jiemei with diff style cos they can tie the dress different way.

Thks binnie! But how tall are ur bridesmaids? And what size do they usually wear? Err..cos mine got different size..sm 10,12 and bigger? hmm..not sure if they can fit leh..
sad.gif

I like the coral pink too! Suitable fm day to night! Haha

Carol: I'm actually the tallest among them. I'm 1.63m they r ard 1.58m. So ht is not an issue. We r ard uk6 n uk8. They only comes in free size but stretchable.

DL: convertible dress is a dress that can be wore in different style. You just google The Design Closet. Their backorder has the convertible dress. Once u see the pic u will get it le.

Hmm..binnie..all of you are so petite..I shld have ask those smaller size ones.. shall ask them to Jian fei..haha. Anyway, thks alot! Shall get one and get them to try on! But the BO will tk quite a long time to arrive!

Btw, I just collected my wedding shoes and my tea ceremony shoes today and I TOTALLY loved it! Now I just have to make sure I don't fall down wearing them
happy.gif

Brandon, I haven't decided yet. I thought of using Flash, but with time constraint, I might have to find an easier alternative.

cupcakes, you are very efficient, happy for you
happy.gif
. Christine emailed me the sample wedding invites yesterday. Are you using their invites?

hey bran~ actually you can just do a google search. for example i did "free downloads photo montage software", it brings up shareware pages such as: http://www.topshareware.com/photo-montage-maker/downloads/1.htm

you can download or go read reviews by googling the software name separately and then you can pick the one you want to try. if it's not what you're looking for, just come back here or do another search. you can switch about the search phrases.

a lot of these are much easier than flash. frankly these things will take longer than you expect (unless you are really not fussy and don't really need it to be nice, then just go ahead and plonk it in anyhow...) so i don't think you can afford to waste time learning to use a new software, what more flash isn't that easy to get just like that. just some advice...

DL: I got mine custom designed and made at Katong Shopping Center. The shop name is Golden River Shoe. #01-14. The owner's name is Jason. He and his wife are super duper nice and you get excellent service from them. I ordered them last week and they arrived on Sunday. That's really efficient considering the shoes are made in Korea. They got them expressed delivered to Singapore for me as they knew I only had a week here. The shoes are so comfy... I know I would be able to last all day in them.
happy.gif

Lish: Yes I am using their invites as I have no time to go and designed my own card. (save money also). I just went to the internet cafe and printed out the insert, went to popular book store to buy some nice looking 120gsm paper and went to a photocopy shop and ask the person to photocopy unto the nice paper folded it into the Marriott card and tada! my invitation!
happy.gif
It doesn't look very nicely done up but its decent and I believe the relatives will understand as they know I spent all day everyday at the hospital while trying to put together a wedding.

cupcakes, it's not easy juggling many things at once. Jia you!

Brandon, flash is adobe licensed and there's learning curve. Krazi gave some good advice there. You can also try http://animoto.com/. It requires a fee, but the effects are professional looking.

Lish, yes think it will be quite hard to learn and do the montage on my own.
initially was planning to use powerpoint to do the montage but the effect will not be as good.

Hi all,

I have 6 jiemei dresses for sale- all at $11 per piece.

it looks like that:

url]

What happened was that i bought my first piece for $50 at HK... and then .. saw ShangHai selling.

So i asked my Jiemei to tried it - intending to wear the same my the day. When i got my china colleague to buy it for me , it was slightly different in size and my jiemeis canot fit in at all... i bought at RMB 55 per piece, so I'll just let go at this same price... and absorb the shipping charges...because i also bought other clothes...

might be a good idea for jiemeis- it should fit a S or M at max for the dress. It's totally brand new and still in the bags...

Please email me at [email protected] if interested... thank you.

hey lish, interesting site there. does it mean it will cost USD$8 to produce? since basic sign-up is free + $3 for full-length + $5 for hi-res video for projection purposes.

have you tried it? can share your final result?

Kraz, i had try the very basic 30 second, not bad, except that looking for another software that can zoom in on picture.coz there are some group photos that we wanna put in our montage.

any other recommendation?

I did my save the date montage with www.onetruemedia.com.
Loved the simplicity of the program. It's free to use but we paid a couple of dollars for special effects.

There's also a free software from Microsoft called Photo Story 3. Have you tried that one?
