i think they are busy cuz the boss runs a lot of different businesses, not just idoido.

maybe you can try calling instead? i have yet to contact them... i wanted to ask about doing a package cuz they also run Woodsville florist, and i need stuff like BM corsages/bouquets, candy bar decor etc, so thought to ask them too.

Pinkcoral: actually u can just call them. It's faster. If I remember correctly I think the one answeringbmy phone is call Bryan.

hey ladies, have you went to pick your florist for your banquet? my hotel provided me with 3 contacts namely, Sing see soon, June Florist & Impact Creative. Have any of you worked with any of them? any reviews?

lissy~ my venue used to use sing see soon, they are not bad, they are pretty well known in the circuit for being excellent as well. i'm not very familiar with the other two.

Lissy: My florist is super nice and creative and I love the way he thinks. He makes design suggestions to the venue which is in my head without me even saying them out loud. I half think he can read people's mind. He does Hyatt's flora arrangements too. Would you be interested?

hey cupcakes, share your florist with me on fb can? im also looking for one...

lissy~ i think for venue usually you would need entrance arch (optional), reception table centrepiece, cocktail tables centrepiece (if any), floral stands along the aisle, table centrepieces for VIP table/s and the rest, and stage backdrop decor. you may want to ask them to include price of loose rose petals if you are getting your flower girls to throw / lining the aisle / placing along reception area etc etc (if your venue allows).

of course you may want to ask them for other things as well that perhaps your BS does not provide. for me i need to find a florist to add on other floral stuff like bridesmaids' corsages and bouquets, groomsmen' boutonnieres, candy bar floral decor, flower girls' baskets etc. fyi

if they can give a package price that would be best. (get them to give you the a la carte breakdown and then compare amongst a few florists to make sure you are getting the best deal)

different kinds of flowers have different costs, so choose wisely! haha

Lissy: His name is Sani, maybe you check with your venue first? If they are ok with outside florist, I'll give you his contact number?

Krazi: Yes that's what my florist told me too... don't pick the Aussie flowers, they will be super ex to import. No point wasting unnecessary money and he offered me cheaper local alternatives

Cupcakes~ yep my venue has one but I'm looking for another to provide those other stuff. yep my hotel is ok with external florist, they only encourage using the same one for convenience sake. in any case I will ask for quotes based on the same specs too.

Ang Chiu Lin,

Chiu Lin>> I'm giving out mine in Nov as well. Majority of my friends are by hand, since i always meet up with them almsot once a month at least.

Oh anyway, don't seem to see anyone discuss about guo da li cakes. Where are you all buying??

ACL~ i'm sending mine next week. been working midnight days, really looking forward to this long weekend to tie up all the loose ends for the invites and send them out asap!

two reasons to send them out early:
1) festive season. you don't want to clash with the hoards of christmas cards that companies will be sending out to each other (even if we don't send on personal basis anymore). singpost also advise tho who are sending greeting cards to post early! so you can ensure it gets them on time, or worse, even can reach them and not get lost in the mail.

2) so that you give your guests enough time to rsvp. just in case a number rsvp not able to make it, you still have time to invite from your B list of guests to fill the space. not nice to hear, but its a fact. and etiquette is that you usually don't invite them less than 1 month prior to your wedding or else it will be deemed insincere and they will know they were B list guests!

so it's up to you! but end of nov shouldn't be too late still. 6 weeks is usually a good timing, add a week or 2 cuz of festive.

agreed with kraimitzi, cause of festive season, cards maybe delayed and u dont want such things to happen as well.

thankfully majority of my friends we shld be giving by hand as we see them also most weekends.

Binnie - im getting my GDL cakes from Gin Thye cause parents & Parents in law, would want to go tradition for the cakes.

i would be settling my GDl stuff by this weeek, cakes to be ordered by this month end latest, have already ordered my roasted pig :) collected my album this week. that shld be all! just remmember brides to file ur notice of marriage!!

I just received my wedding invitations. They are SO gorgeous!!

So, I'm sending them out now.

But Caroline- DON'T FRET!! you can't be worse than me. I haven't even sign with the hotel for the wedding banquet yet! hahahah I must be the 'winner' in this category. (but it's already 'booked', just have to sign and pay for it).

so, I havent' met with florist, done food tasting etc. But, my wedding dress is ready, my cheongsam is almost done, my flower girl settled. doing up wedding favours now, and settling the solemniser.

15jan brides, I think our date is a very auspicious date.. I already have a few of my friends cant come to our dinner cos either their relatives or friends also falls on the same day.. Headache!!

Even 1 of my jiemei has a relative wedding luncheon to attend, so after my morning ceremony, she will have to rush off for it.

Do any of you encounter the same problem as me?

My dad requested for roasted pig, but my FIL say cos he's buddhist dunno which level, cannot kill life.. So they be giving angbao to replace the pig instead.

Candy, I think there's a shop that is at Ion basement that sells duck skin, and also suckling pig(let)(?) that's about $125. but it's small. but it seems enough for me, cos I don't know who's going to eat the pig if it's anything larger than that!
