(2010) 2010 Brides

All: the more i know, the more i am confused.. haha.. Any Simple yet Correct procedure for GDL items for Teochew Groom and Hokkien Bride??

sharlene: yah.. my mum also forgot le.. she only mention she need cakes, pig trotters, 2 liquor.. and washing diapers thingy...so confusing.. i tried to source online.. the more i source.. the more confused! some are so extensive (till like really need so many item???)..

sharlene> added you liao...

deerix> best is to ask the elders then they know what to do

deerixp> You just go to those traditional shops that sell those traditional things, the aunties there will teach you if you are not too sure. Or else ask the geomancer who gives you the date.

In terms of the entire wedding traditional needs, you need to follow teochew tradition. For GDL and dowry, follow hokkien tradition..

I have seen two different geomancers and both have a bit of difference in terms of the items to buy. So it seems impossible to find one that you can follow strictly.

all: managed to get a lot of things done today...so quite happy. Wedding cards selected, picking up next Mon. Also ordered washing machine, fridge, stand fan and others from Best Denki...those who haven't bought can go there and see, they having sale now...tml last day

Just finished my food tasting. Food is OK though not up to my expectation. The two family started to talk about the weddding stuff and the whole situation became a bit stressful. Luckily, all goes well. hooray!

Thomas> Your progress is going well..

http://bridalcloset.multiply.com/reviews/item/2

its the whole full list. whatever you dun need can substitute with ang pow. however, the best thing is just ask ur parents what that want and dun show them the list, and substitute with ang pows =)

thomas > how long will they hold the electronics for u ? actually we wanted to buy, but we dunno how long they will hold for us while the house is renovating.

booy > are u renting their basket ? they have a nice and big basket
happy.gif
... when i did my GDL, the basket too small, so end up cannot put all the oranges inside... so part of it in the basket, the rest use plastic bag... so uncle-ish.

think one of the reason why my photos are nice is cos i know chris for about four years already... so its easier for him to bring out our best in the photos. plus he's super experienced.

thomas > actually i went to ask at best denki a few months ago before when they were having some promo. the staff said the best they can do is transfer the stock from the warehouse to the shop and leave it in the showroom until delivery time.
