eh anyone of u gals know what to wear back to "mother's place" if i do not opt to wear a kua? i tried on one last weekend and realised that i'm not suitable to wear one cos of the collar.. makes me look neckless

in fact, u can chk with ur BS wat other choices u can opt for other than kua.... there shld be ready made CS for u to choose from or tea dress/cocktail dress

its a long story.. actually we are planning to juz stay in SG le. but my FH can actually 'claim' his travel expenses (air & hotel only) and he found that he has a certain amt that needs to be claimed by this sept, if not will forfeited. so we will be gng to hk with his parent aka my future PIL. haha!! cos he can claim their shares too. mine can only be claimed when im his spouse, which is not now. keke...
 
missy > AL gowns are pretty overall. When i was there, i tried 5 gowns and only 1 gown looked nice on me, which was a bit disappointing. Amanda lee is a very friendly lady, at times, she is also frank with her comments and i really like abt her. comparing her gowns with ted, i find that ted has a signature style in his embroidery which is difficult to replicate. AL has no signature style except in colours, even Amanda admitted herself as she prefers to have more varieties on different fabrics and colours. Although i like colours on my gowns, i find that it's getting more and more common. i still have one more session with AL as she is proposing another design for her. i think i can only decide between her and ted after that.
if you want, i can check out the rental charge for you. gowns designed by AL and her in house designers are priced differently. if looking at mtm, it can be a difference of 2k. whoa!

pompom>> actually quite alot of local artistes go for ted wu. if u are more inclined twd him, then go for it!

maybe i prefer to have diff colours on my white gown, which is why i like AL. haha..

arghhh i tried a couple of CS.. problem areas are as follows:

1. Round face
2. Short neck
3. Fat upper body

a.k.a cannot wear collar / halter stuff :'(

hi morning everyone! i chatted with my HK fren last nite. She told me that everything is as per normal in HK.
hopefully HK govt will do something abt reducing the number of affected people per day.. haha..

if any new country is listed in the affected areas during ur trip, then the govt will compensate the leaves for quarantine...

he has written an appeal and they extended it to end of yr cos he told them, he cannot travel due to h1n1. so i'll make sure he keeps the email safely, haha..

then again, im still veri moody that i cannot travel :_(

eileen: eh got strawberry? maybe mine is different haha .. mine got lavender and aloe one. My colleague got friend who bought back from Taiwan. I also saw it at Iluma at bugis. One of the shops got sell.

ds> there is no venue co-ordinator. Just an empty venue that we can rent. Nothing is provided. Went to see a florist today, so got a rough gauge of what can be done and pricing.

I'm new here, really wanna seek your advice.

I'm planning for a wedding at around year end in 2010, so i've just started viewing some venues, including Swissotel Stamford today. Really liked the ballroom and the wedding suite, but the prices seem to be pretty steep.

I'm looking for a Sat dinner banquet and it's gonna cost me about $1200 per table for the following perks:

1. 30l beer (1 barrel)
2. 1 night wedding suite + breakfast
3. Wedding favors
4. Ice sculpture and fruits + mocktail at pre-banquet reception
5. 10% complimentary parking
6. 30 bottles wine including corkage
7. Free corkage (hard liquor)
8. Free use of 1 function room for solemnisation ceremony
9. 9-course dinner
10. 50% discount for food tasting for 10 persons

Has anyone successfully asked for more perks such as:
1. Free wine corkage
2. More beer (how much is needed, on the average?)
3. Free use of LCD projector
4. More free parking coupons
5. Etc

Such perks are usually available at other hotels, even their sister hotel - Merchant Court. I really want to understand if i'm really going to be paying for something that's worth it.

Please do share your experience with me and my HTB.

i am also considering making an appointment with my BS to view/select gowns but was wondering if it would b too early.

BTW Dot,
i did liase with stamford coordinator before. they are very very strict.

vernica> we do not hv a choice... got to do PS early b4 mar... so choosing of gown will be ard dec period lor...

it's not necessary for u to start gown selection early... usually PS is schedule 3-6 mths b4 ur AD... if u choose gowns early, u might not be able to change ur gowns for AD again... rem, BS will bring in gowns very often...
perhaps u can chk with ur coord 1st
 


ds> i have not even chosen my bs. gonna go taiwan then look for bs there. Gown for AD i think i will tailor make it. Have not really decided yet. or will take package with local BS for just AD.

missy> mine will be away for 6 mths or longer so by the time he come back will be jun or jul next yr. then v close to our AD.
