Their thinking is actually quite right. cos if you buy condo u'll forgo the HDB grant. Also, you might have problem getting a loan under ur name too. 5k per month is not low, unless ur stable job combined income is really high, if not there might be a problem to get a loan.

If I'm you, i'll quickly go buy another HDB, then move out. Then start refusing to pay for the condo, say, unless put my name in, i'm not going to pay for it. After you get ur HDB liao, add name is no problem one. jus legal fees only. That way u can protect urself.

i think what you need is to sit down w ur bf and discuss ur concerns for housing. Afterall, he is his son, but u're only their DIL. What will happen if things turn sour in the future? From what I see, you're very exposed. Alternatively, make ur HTB take up the responsibility of paying the installment to the condo that is legally not urs. At least u'll keep the cash.

Actually going to legal firm to put down in black n white not a very bad idea. At least it shows legally that you're contributing to the house.

Give ur lawyer a call, say it's for this house, ask him what are the future implications if you're paying black n white to the house but house not under ur name. He'll give u a better understanding of how it will protect or expose ur money.
 
xka, think u should seperate finances. It's good to say that his money = ur money, but at the end of the day, u'll still need to keep UR money seperate.

If you are paying afterall, you should include ur name legally in black and white.

What is it for you to lose afterall. It is a Mortgage. The most if you cannot pay, the bank will foreclose ur property only. What do you have to lose? since ur name is not in the deed.

actually if u wan, can ask someone else to drive 2 yoru house first, after than, your HB take over. brother/sister car will park first, so jus change seat and ask one brother to drive a bit up 2 look nice lor.

My AD is on 6 Dec 09, and I had just confirmed with Seletar country club. Do any of you know of any wedding dinner banquets held there? The place looks quite nice, and majority of the hotels &amp; restaurants I have inquired are already booked.

XKA,poor ger!its quite hard to counter them cos they are your in laws. but i think you must let your htb know how you feel cos if you keep it within yourself, it will eat at you inside and there might be consequences in future. my mum also like that. keep everyting inside about the mum in law problem until she cannot tahan liao. my dad also keep ignoring the problem so now the in law problem very sensitive topic among them

if she has a condo under her name, she cannot take CPF grant at all, and not apply for new HDB flats which are subsidised...for 5 long years...so if xka is to buy a hdb then add name to condo...she cannot take any grants...if not have to pay back to CPF plus dunno wat other 'punishment'...

if it's me...i would just flatly refuse to pay the 3k a month to stay with them...paying to be pissed? no way...i can jolly well put 3k into buying my own 4 or 5 room flat with spare...or one of the nice DBSS flats...with that amount...any HDB flat also can buy...even those in CBD...

sorry xka, have to be so blunt...but just reading it makes mi pissed man...but then again...i'm usually pissed recently...

Then i saw this very shimmering, nice WG which requires me to top up $780 but after negotiation, i need to top up $500. I nearly fainted, too much to pay.. >.< bt hee.. i took some pictures so i can decide &amp; think over what i want.. they nvr bring me any new gowns to see, i hope to settle my WG, outdoor gowns by next appt.. so tiring.. *_*

Haiz, just finished writing my 1st round of invites. Realised that we don't have enough because alot of our friends are singles, and family have alot of married ones which should get their own invite. I really thought 300 cards for 37 tables was enough.

Now scrambling to print more. Anyone encounter this before? Do you think the hotel printer will print another 100 for me? and do a fast job?

I'm worried cos the printer (for the 1st time we printed) says they take 10 days and will only deliver to the hotel every friday.
