Mmm, not sure, but this is what my MIL told me. yah, think u double cmf with ur MIL..or is it there're different ways of doing?? Last saturday, my MIL told me no need to find feng shui master to calculate what time to fetch bride etc coz all feng shui master will say different things, different timing and the date we choose for AD sure not suitable for us coz we choose 27 Jan being a good date for wedding as indicate in the tong shu, and din check whether it clash with who or who...haha...funny chap..ops!
 
Hi jhoo! My sec sch had her dinner at M hotel last September. Nice place. I love their honeymoon suite leh. Hahahah! But one minus point is that they allow for people to smoke in the lift lobby. I understand that it is because it is a business hotel. But food wise, not bad wor. I remember the coordinators being very courteous, accommodating and friendly.

Jhoo! For your information only ah, rabbit clashes with our AD leh. My sis is a rabbit, so on the day FH arrives at my place, she cannot be in the same room loh. Only until I come back for the tea ceremony can we see each other. Hehehe… Quite sad when I think about it. But *sighs* bo bian…

Hello Yuki! There are a total of 3 march-in routes for the couple to choose from. Not one can accommodate for all to see at the same time. Hehehe… since I plan on having a longer train, I was thinking of choosing the longest aisle. I figured so long as my FH can see, that is the most important. But it is an L-shaped, so there is a possibility that my train will not be very straight. Nevermind, we still have time to think. Hehehe… we are looking at taking 28 tables for 12 pax each. That is the least the hotel can allow. Hopefully, we will be able to cut down on a few guests here and there loh. MIL is taking 12 tables, my mum is taking 10 leh.

Hi Mei, yea loh. I bo bian. LL loh… But I will still try to argue. Hahahah! I was thinking maybe instead of sitting 12 pax, can put 13 chairs since the coordinator said it is ok. But we will re-confirm on Saturday to see if it is cramped at all. Bo bian, must try to cut down our cost as much as possible. Hehehehe…
 
Hi Mei, No Problem..update u all on Monday! think i will get my hubby secretly take photo when im with white gown..hehe, but most prob will be using HP camara coz i dun think the BS will allow us to do that..am i rite?

so ur friend took which one? function room or Banquet suite? mine is function room..smoking in the lift? nvm, just a nite only, can't pamper the guests too much, whahahaha...yes, the bridal suite is damn nice!...hopefully my hubby wont be too drunk on that day to enjoy..keke.or rather, hope i wont be too drunk coz im quite ON too..whahahaha
 
But if they need 10 tables, then got to give coz this is part of pin jing or pin li..no choice. and is understandable that if they call one relative and din call the other, they will be in difficult position. Mite as well make it a joyous one by giving to them..

jhoo.. I think once you have signed up with the BS, they'll allow you to take pixs.. that time when I have not signed up with my BS & hubby wanted to take pixs while I tried the gowns.. they told us we can only take pixs after we signed up with them, so you can check with your BS.

Kelly, true, but maybe u can discuss with your mum of giving back some of the angbao back to you if u and ur hubby will be paying. Some of my friends' parents are doing that
 
Hi jhoo, for my sis' wedding, my parents paid for the number of tables that they have taken loh. But i dont know if mum will do the same. Hehehe... A bit paiseh to ask.
 
Aiyah, kelly..no need paiseh one lar..my mum always dun tell how much pin jin she wants as she said so early, later then say and i keep asking her everyday and the same old story that my hubby May'06 then start having income and we have to come out with that money etc etc, hopefully she wont ask so much from us keke...ur parents not bad leh, still give ur sis back. im sure they will do that for you too ;)
 
my family oso taking 10 tables n they say if they need any extra they pay themselves.. actually is 10 reasonable or a 10?

I was told there was only 1 march in entrance ...haha so din know abt the other 2.
Roger told me that the least tables that the hotel allow is 25 leh.

Hehehe... I am waiting for my mum to open her mouth leh. If not, den maybe i have to ask. But hopefully wont have to take any $ from them. That day i dreamt that my mum gave me quite a substantial amt leh. Hahahah!

im not too sure if it's pin jing or pin li, but its one of them..so the gal's parent will keep the angbao from those guests they have called.

other than that, we will still have to give pin jing in terms of $ form to gal's parent too(angbao with $ whereby she will return some amt of $ back to us)..

my wedding banquet will be held in holiday inn atrium.. still a/w for the person to draft the contract. ya u r rite most of the places will quote u 2006 price but if u place ur booking with them u can take the price now even though ur AD is next yr... anyway this is what im being told for most places..
its better to book wedding banquet venue fast cos the price will only increase as the mths goes by..
how's ur preparation so far?

Yuki, minimum is 25 tables???? You kidding me? I must double check leh. The package said 30, but SanSan told me 28 is fine. But then again, going by current situation, more or less 28 liao.

haha kelly, my hubby coming 27yrs old this yr.he's a old student. after he finished his NS, he worked for 2 yrs, then study for tat 3yrs...so add up 27yrs old..haha..im coming 26 this yrs

Ur pin jin and pin li is driving me nuts. So confusing!!! All I rem is that my dad paid for the tables for his guests during my sis' wedding. So by right, the hongbaos go to my dad. I tink he didnt give to my sis loh. Hahahaha...
 
oh hehe i booked w PMB last Sept when i was having my rom then..was silly enuf to go buy rom package elsewhere and then realise my mistake and went book PMB to get the men's suit fr them...

i prob wil go during june-jul cos wanna hv a PS in Oct...tts one of yr choices too?
 
huh, u mean he din give to ur sis's back?..actuali what i know is that gal's side parent will ask for no. of tables. eg, 5 tables. so these 5 tables guests' angbao will all go to the gal's parents and they will keep it..and when come to bill - the guy's side or the couple will have to settle...ermmm, better explaination or is it the same just that different way of explaining?
 
and Pin Jing is that the guy has to give an angbao to the girl's parent...i think my BIL gave my mum $1000 in the red packet and my mum return back that few hundreds back to him coz its just a yi si yi si to take the $...

hehe i also manage to settle my AD venue le! so happy! i'm holding mine on 27th Oct 2007 at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort! wah, the next morning i wake up, can see the beach &amp; the sea in front of me,like resort! so nice!

hehe think some ppl may find us KS book so early for next year, but i prefer to settle things fast at least when the dates i want are not taken up yet

my BS is julia. have u had ur ROM? my ROM is this year end, so will be visiting my BS year end for ROM gown first. But for our AD in oct, when shd we be starting to prepare? wat's a good timeline?

Yes, u asked before. Sheraton was our first choice but we end up signing Intercon.... now a bit piasie coz Roger was very nice.

Okie... I read about the shu tou thingy... It signifies being all grown up and adult.. Ie, shu tou both sides must do it and at the same timing.. If one side, dun want to do it, then both can't do it....

Coz that;s what happened to my cousin, her MIL dun want, so our side also dun do it... As the women in my family said, if my cousin shu tou.. It means that she has to take care of her husband.. Coming from a traditional family, its a NO NO...

As for the pin jin and pin li, its really go with the flow... I actually told my parents that I insisted on 10 tables for them.... And the ang bao for my parents side will definitely go to them.. But, i wont be asking from them coz my parents are buying a lot of stuff for me and my new home...

So everything is juz give and take... So, i told my FH to keep his mouth shut on certain things when my parents asked about who s paying for what even though i m the one paying....

Guess, wedding preparation is tiring not only becoz of budget constraints but HUMAN factors mainly!

My wedding is on 27 Jan... My wedding banquet is held at Noble House.

Actually, i m a lucky gal.. My FH is paying for everything.... I did tell him whatever i can pay i will pay... I had paid for his ROM shirt and tie..

Yuki, dun haiz.... Its part of the preparation... Juz some info to share, These are some of the things that are to be paid by our side.

Our mums are to buy us pillows, bolsters, blankets, bedsheets and crockery as part of our dowry.... My mum told me that even the MUA is to be borne by the gal side... Basically, i act blur when my FH asked me about the payment coz he s very stingy!

For the pin jin and pin li, its very much dependable on the family expectations. Everything boils down to the face issue.. So just have to endure, if my parents are asking for 10 tables, the extra tables they required are forked out from their own pockets. They wont ask for much for other things like cakes, clothes etcc...

I m a Cantonese... As far as i know, Cantonese usually ask for dried seafood stuff like abalone, dunno what lah... Think its regardless of dialects, the best is both sides dun have alot of those pattern relatives.. Then everything will be okie....

Kaye, my mother requested for 6 tables (inclusive of VIP table), pin jing, wedding cakes..while my mil requested a few items like teapot from my mother and she will be buying si dian jin for me. Bedsheet, alamak, i bought it liao, and cost $170 in total...dun understand why i can spend so much on bedsheet...

I mean I am forking out for the tables too, so why should my mum settle for much lesser than the in-law’s? Hehehe… FH always say that I am very jin jin ji jiao. But I just want to fight for my mum mah. Hehehehe…

I was thinking, since we haven’t seen any contract, maybe FH and I can seek for Roger this Saturday. If he is able to give us better perks, I’ll ask him to be my coordinator. Good? Hehehehe…

Jhoo, I heard from my sis that my dad will take back all the hongbaos from the tables that he paid for. Unsure if dad gave them some. But my dad gave sis and BIL a sum of $ for their house leh.
