hazel

girls
for next meeting, sorry i can't make it on mon, tues and wed every week.... sorry... all got valid reasons, i swear!!!

signed up for pedicure package - $160 for 5 sessions. not bad ah?

about the qing ming thing, my mum says her sister says (the kaypoh auntie) that supposedly, a few days before and after QM also cannot. that's why, the lesser we know, the better.

ooshie · Feb 21, 2006

Gals!!
ive tried to add as many contacts on multiply ... hopefully never miss out on anyone

Ting!
i saw your WG pics .... so PRettYY!! did you watch outback Jack? that reality TV and the gal he finally chose ? they had their wedding featured on some magazine. the frills on your WG are somewhat like hers and what i really initially wanted . but sadly patrick at Twp said i was abit pui for that kind of frills ... so since i couldnt get all of her kind of gown i made my tulle pink hehe

hey sinkor!
well taken?? maybe its just the 5megapixels camera haha cant me my skills nor FH photography skill. i kinda like that pic too but i think the photographer tawt it was too typical so he din take much of us on the boat. yeah the weather's fantastic and we are feeling the after effects till now ... we are 'rescaling' at the moment very 'tai gou'
still waiting for the proper pics to come out ... wonder how long it takes ...
the korean actor handsome anot hahaha better make sure before i tell FH he will prob thinks he looks like some cute looking guy

kaye · Feb 21, 2006

*sigh..
according to Cantonese, our Qing Ming is later than the exact Qing Ming date..
So, on my AD, the Qing Ming is still not over.

lilic · Feb 21, 2006

hiya angeldust & purple

i just touched down from BKK.. and guessed wat? i got my wedding favours liao.. so happy.. its really hard work.. i walked around the past 2 days to find something which bf and i will like.. but its definitely worth it.. the cost is unbelievablely affordable.. i only spent 25% of my budget for the gifts.. *grinning with joy* but the best part, bf was really onz abt finding the gift.. and he din even mind walking thro the markets.. and also kudos to my bridesmaid and her fiance too..

oh, actually if i could give them more time, i would have gotten customised items.. but well, guess i can't have the cake and eat it..

angeldust, i couldnt find the things you wanted in chinatown, chatuchak and suan lum.. din got time to go pratunam side.. paiseh..

purple, the tailor (macways) i went to, was superb.. best amongst those i went previously.. 4 of us gotten 3 suits, 8 shirts, 4 pants in total.. they were prompt in delivery and worksmanship was good.. the suit (jacket plus pants) starts from S$150 onwards.. then each shirt starts from S$26.. pants are more expensive, price starts from S$42 onwards.. anyway, all depends on fabric..

my bridesmaid's fiance said he cannot tell the diff between his RT suit and the one he got from there.. kekeke.. but of coz, RT suit def better lar..

sharon, welcome and have fun in your wedding prep.. i visited 17 BS before i decided too.. some of the pioneers here were my 'shifu"... kekeke, looks like i not the most fussy one around.. but its great fun right?? heee

ok, i better go.. tomolo gotta work.. sigh

kaye · Feb 21, 2006

I had 5 tables of frenz & colleagues...which 1 table r my FH & my common frenz.

when I look at my table, I was thinking who's getting married?
how come the frenz & colleagues tat we r inviting is lesser than the relatives & parents'frenz that they r inviting.
but I m better than Lipstar as my tables r much lesser than hers.
So, its like I dun ve to pay attention to the other tables...
N can concenrate on my food...hehehee....
I must break the record..
Who says the bride dun ve time to eat during the banquet!

newbbi79 · Feb 21, 2006

newbbi79 · Feb 21, 2006

Pals,
anyone wearing contact lenses here?Heard frm the news yest that the Bausch & Lomb Solution got problem leh...tink 19 ple got this eye infection leh and pulic is advise not to use this solution for the time being until investigation is done....So those using this solution, please stop using okie....

marnie · Feb 21, 2006

Woah Jean. I like the webbie but not willing to fork out the money to get those stuff which I will possibly only use once...that's why lah. I so hard-up, I DIY most of my stuff. Such a scrooge right?

Lipstar, thanks for the good company too. And as usual, sorry for being late - as usual lah, the last minute call I could not tear myself away from. urrghhh

Pink Bunny, you scored a good deal there with the pedicure sessions!

Eh...you going for bust enhancement sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, is it? Going to upstage our 38G Lipstar?

Just kidding, eh....

Hazel, don't worry! Meraj and I also intend to eat....cos' we sweat blood and tears negotiating for the deal/food menu. Better be good on the day man..

Girls, here's a stupid question. Do you feed your wedding vendors i.e. AD photographer, videographer? i think I want to. There's like a 1.5 long cocktails just after the solemnisation before the dinner start, do you think it's good if we get the vendors to eat a bit first then in that period?

Aye...today I'm meeting my housing agent which I think I'm going to appoint. "think" cos' it's through my mom's recommendation....we have so differing tastes. Still torn between a sizeable 3-room flat and have alot of cash to do the house the way we want and left over to invest or a 4-room with just enough basic stuff. I'm leaning towards the former cos' we're not intending to be a 2.5 family right away in the next 3 years. By then, I'll probably be in the middle of paperwork to migrate to Australia...uuuurgghhh! I sometimes do not like the choices in front of me...

angeldust · Feb 21, 2006

hihi,

panda, makes me wanna go BKK man for the wedding favours.. how much did u buy and how u carry back manz.. hmm.. makes me wanna go BKK soon.. i can get customised ones.. just tong pang with thai relos then they send back for me also can.. ha ha ha ha..

sandsand · Feb 21, 2006

qq77 · Feb 21, 2006

morning all,

newbbi,
saw the news also.
unfortunately, i am one of the user of that brand of solution and contact lens.
no wonder i keep having eye problem.
saw the news and i went back yesterday to throw the one i wearing leow.
now eyes quite pain and have redness. wearing spec now. think will be resting my eyes for one or two mths till the result is out.

lipstar · Feb 21, 2006

pinkbunny: Oi! You don't go and enhance your assets hor.

Oh... cos at another forum, I am affectionately known as Lippy and thus, he is Mr Lippy. I am more used to calling him Mr Lippy than Mr Lipstar.

Idyll: Don't mention it. I understand. Somehow clients like to call at lunch time one leh.

Hazel: Don't be sad... BIG HUG!

sdblues · Feb 21, 2006

morning all, to think such a reputable lens company also kenna those problems.. better not buy from them until everything resolved..

lipstar · Feb 21, 2006

Idyll: Sometimes you may not plan for a kid but what if got accident?
If you are 100% sure you are not going to have a kid then get a 3 rm flat since you are going to migrate. But I am more kiasi, I lean more towards a 4 rm flat. Can put more of my barang barang.

qq77 · Feb 21, 2006

SDL,
ya loh, i have been wearin this brand for more than 10 over years, now then got this kind of silly problem. i still got a few pairs, now dare not wear leow.

yongee86 · Feb 21, 2006

Hihi,

I'm not too sure how to use multipy.. can someone add me in? [email protected]

I just went for first fitting yesterday plus trial makeup. didn't like my trial makeup and hairdo very much. now thinking should change MUA or not..

pinkbunny · Feb 21, 2006

hazel
i pondered about this for a long time before we were even thinking about wedding planning. traditionally the wedding card would say 'the parents of ah boy and ah girl invite you...'. only the past 10 years then people changed for it to say 'WE, ah boy and ah girl, together with our parents invite you...'

so the thing is, the wedding dinner traditionally is for our parents to announce to the whole world that their kids are getting married and that's why THEY invite people, not us. that's why the dinner has alot of parents' friends and distant relatives.

so don't be so upset ok? i'm sure they don't mean any harm. they're just happy for you

for us it's slightly diff cos bluebunny's family is not here so 22 tables still can fit everyone. but even so, parents' friends and family and their colleagues already take up more than half! but if you wanna look at it from a financial viewpoint, they will give more than our friends would la i guess....

marnie
eh same for us. we're prob going to leave singapore next year. every day i come to work the song 'i'm a slave with a minimum wage' plays in my head. then i think about having to retire at 65 (maybe they'll increase it again?) then i lagi sian. bluebunny, as you could have seen, is not local. so we'll be going back to canada la. can lower my blood pressure also. and my kids won't have a childhood filled with tuition, ballet classes, chinese enrichment lessons, swimming, tennis etc or feel the need for it.

that's why we're renting. don't see the point to buy cos we're not going to be around to sell.

eh btw, the pedicures they give are really good, and the massage.... mmm mmmm!!! want or not? at anchorpoint

lipstar
sigh. no matter how many treatment sessions i go for also cannot come close to 38. give up la! hehe. actually monday nights i got taekwondo, tuesday got CSI and wednesday i volunteer, that's why

told you it's valid!

jan193 · Feb 21, 2006

count · Feb 21, 2006

CSI i love ur shoes! The ribbon is so very adorable and it's so cheap! U said $40 only right?

Petrina, we walked the whole of arab st. But we managed to get the fabric quite fast cos Kim would take a look and can tell quite quickly whether the materials are worth a closer look. The shop we bought fr is very ex. It's owned by a Chinese man (usually they're Sikhs i think) and it's at the end of arab st facing the main rd leading to bugis rather than arab st where two rows of shops face each other... Hope this helps u find it. Cos i can't remember the no of tt place

So what stuff did u get from arab st in the end? U very fast leh. Already bought church deco and ring pillow fabric. Are u using DIY route?

Chomecc! So qiao3! No lah. U didn't seem irritated what. Yep, tot of making a CS for PS in July. Quite happy with my fabric cos we searched very long! Happy tt u think it's nice too

How come ur jie meis are making a dress so soon? Tot it's still early? Intending to get my sister and mum to go to Kim in May/June. Has Kim made anything for u before? How did it turn out? What fabric and colour did u get in the end?

Btw, i think wet market is fresher than sheng siong. Cos supermarkets may leave the fish out for quite long. Hee. Porridge is easy. Just use crockpot to cook then no need to watch over it a lot

moninet · Feb 21, 2006

diana!! me me me! now i xiao onz MOS, am there almost every fri! whahahaha!

hi wendy.. sounds like a good deal.. ridhuan does wine consignment too?

jan193 · Feb 21, 2006

count.. is ur CS long or short wan ah?? n does Kim goes shoppin for d fabric w u?? me oso tinkin of makin a CS

marnie · Feb 21, 2006

Pink Bunny, oooh! Good that you remind me of CSI's newest edition! I totally forgot.

Girls, I can't make gatherings on Wednesdays cos' CSI 6th season is on AXN.

Lipstar, I got off the phone with mommy dearest. Told her that I have a set budget for the house so if I can get a condo with that amount - good as long as my wallet is in tact!

At the moment, I'm not concerned about the flat but how much it will cost us cos' we are not eligible for the grant. Bleh.....

sunflower44 · Feb 21, 2006

Hi pandalic!

Wow u went to BKK to search for wedding favours? What did u get? Where? Hmm...but i thot hotels would usualy provide? Sorrie, but i'm very new in this...still learning hehe! =p

U have the name n address of the tailor u went to? Longing to go BKK again...eat and shop! *sigh*

count · Feb 21, 2006

Dorami
My CS is a long one. Kim goes shopping for fabric with her customers once a month. Basically she gives u a 1 hour slot when she will meet u and bring u to various shops. Quite gd cos the owners know her and give discounts. Also, she can tell u what fabrics are suitable for u

As for the end product, mine will only be done in June so not fair to comment. But other brides have had generally gd reviews of her. Let me know if u need more info. Btw, if u want to engage her u'll have to give her advance notice cos she's busy and cannot give u the dress at short notice

princess_jasmine · Feb 21, 2006

iceglacier · Feb 21, 2006

Yeah.. heard that the 2nd 7th month can give out invitations already..

Diana... the stupid woman on my floor is killing me!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHH!!!! You know the last 2 days I went home at 2 AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think i must sign up for the MTM panda eyes or something liao... you think effective?

lipstar · Feb 21, 2006

Idyll & pinkbunny: I envy you both. I also don't like the frenetic pace of life here. And I absolutely abhor and despise the asian work culture - must work OT or else deemed lazy.

I am more partial to meeting on Friday night, next day don't need to wake up early. My Saturday duty is this Sat 25th Feb and 25th March. So 3rd March is aye ok!

marnie · Feb 21, 2006

Lipstar, so now if we go visit Canada, we can crash at Pink Bunny's. If you go to Melbourne (we'll most likely migrate there with our 2.5 family..*heh*)

Pink Bunny, which part of Canada huh?

Jean, I was laughing when you asked for the emcee speech...you already one step ahead from your FH....He procrastinating some more huh? Meraj still has not given me his part of the program - I still cannot close my "chapter" lah..Sian ah!

Yeay 3rd March! - So how's everyone's schedules that evening?

wtan · Feb 21, 2006

hi hi moninet..
yap..ridhuan does consignment..u can give him a ring & let him know u r recommended by wendy-iss...it's a very special price liao..can arrange for the delivery straight to the banquet area..then u dun have to carry it on ur wedding day..

hi hi CAT..

Hi Pet, Dorami, Chomecc, Count...

Thanks gals, for your compliments!

I bought it in HK (that Golden Plaza I keep talking abt...hahaha). Got it at close to S$40...think got cheaper ones, but I don't really know how to bargain, and didn't have the time to check through all the shoe shops in that bldg before I settled on this one...comfort-wise...it's ok lah. Not like those Scholl shoes kinda comfort, but it's good enough for me.

Wah, count...your CS is long one ah...? I'm sure it would be a very grand CS worh...

hmmm...now I'm inspired to engage Kim to do some CS for me also. Heehee...What are the steps to take? Just give her a call and fix appointment is it?
