Hello pokie!

Do you know when's their next show case then? Feeling abit risky to leave it to then to confirm though.

We didn't manage to get much really.
- 30% carpark
- 1 additional night in bridal suite if no day use room?

Did you manage to get any additional perks?

Next showcase should be next yaer... yeah i think it's abit risky especially if you are taking a Saturday.
I'm thinking of just signing the contract soon actually because i want to move on with my wedding shopping (dress...photographer etc etc). Just finding a venue that fit all my needs already took so long.

I got the additional night in bridal suit and carpark too but was reading all the other comments that those are quite standard. I asked to remove the invitation cards cause im thinking of making them myself. She said it will be 70cents waived for one card.

Sighhhh so difficult to get more perks. Oh well.

Agreed. I can't wait to move on to next stage of planning. Feels like it took ages to confirm the venue even.

You're going to do your own cards? I'm gonna have a church wedding so got to do the cards for it. So I thought the hotel's card would save me a headache and have 1 less thing to work on though.

Mine's just gonna be a dinner at Conrad next year Q4 . So I guess I have less things to do haha. How about you?
Actually Im still thinking about it. Might go crazy with all the other planning and just use their cards in the end lol.

Girls! Who are your coordinators? Mine is Eng Yan.

Conrad is very niao in their perks, even during the wedding show, they refused to upgrade our day use room! So don't be sad! To be honest the wedding perks were nothing.

Oh! Catheryn is helping me :) I met with Eng Yan too the first time we made a trip down. I liked how she was very confident and proudly showed off the hotel. Makes me more comfortable.

i had my wedding lunch at conrad. everything went smoothly, no regrets at all
what i love about them (among many many other things) is that they do try to accommodate requests without "judging" and even gave suggestions to make it work better - some "popular and experienced" coordinators i spoke to in other hotels gave me the "all other couples do this this this, why aren't you choosing to do the same" vibes.
they also refund you some money (not much, but still!) if you choose not to take their invite cards or favours - hardly anywhere else does this
they probably aren't as generous with their perks but at least they are consistent about it, which i really like. anyway perks are perks and my personal take on it is if i don't NEED it then it doesn't bother me even if other people get it! there are too many other things to do. and no amount of perks can equal with delicious food and good service. conrad has 1:1 staff to table ratio - again, not always found elsewhere for this price range.

Oh thats good to hear :)

I must agree their pricing is quite competitive. Btw, did you add additional decoration/flowers to the existing deco and set up? I was thinking of putting more flowers but not sure if its really necessary.

i was considering adding more flowers! coz i really really really looooooooooove flowers and while i dont have major issues with their deco, i would have loved more flowers everywhere coz ITS NOT ENOUGH
but in the end after finding out how much it would cost i realised my budget couldnt take it hahaha so i let it gooooooo

anyway there is nothing absolutely necessary for a wedding except for the bride, groom, JP, 2 witnesses and the marriage cert. everything else is secondary and entirely up to you (and your husband to be!)

Haha I see everyone definitely has different needs!
I really love flowers too T.T I read that you can consider mixing fake and real flowers lol . So it's not too costly.

So anyway did you both do additional decorations for the ballroom? (besides the recept area)

Hi gals, Conrad informed that they do not allow real flower petals for the 2nd march in and ask us to use satin or fake petals. Have you guys ever used such petals before and are the effects still similar to that of real petals which are heavier? Find it weird that other hotels allow real petals but not Conrad...their reason is that real petals stain the carpet...

Oh? That's odd. But I was actually thinking of confetti instead of flower petals (probably cheaper too heehee).

When are you getting married?
Would you happen to know which florist is doing the flower decorations? I want to make changes to mine haha

I see. Confetti is a good idea too.
I think you can check with your coordinator. She will direct you to the vendor in charge of their ballroom decor.
