Dear btb,

Just wondering have you all come across wedding venues that allow the deposit for the booking to be made through instalments or a few payments? A few weeks ago, my fiance and I went to 1-Altitude as it is the top of the list of the potential venue for our wedding. When we visited, we really liked the place and had nothing negative to say about it. As our new home has just TOP, I was concerned about the mode of payment and checked with the event coordinator, we were delighted when she mentioned that we could pay up the deposit over a few instalments.

After she drafted the contract, this guy (i assume her supervisor) accidentally replied me when we were corresponding about the payment and apparently he does not like the idea of instalment payment. So disappointing! In actual fact, we can borrow this amount ($10k) from our family first but since the event coordinator had agreed to it, I thought there is no hurry to paid up. I feel both disppointed and angry that this had happened.

Just wondering if I should seek out alternative venue or stick to this. Anyway no contract signed yet.
It is ridiculous to pay entire fee upfront way before your AD. What if the resturant closes down? Even hotel allow 50% deposit and balance few weeks for AD.

It is not worth such risk unless yr AD is less than 1 to 2 mths away.

Maybe u can discuss with them on this?

Hi! New here as well ~ possibly having AD in May 2017 and have gotten nothing settled thanks to all the superstitions and traditions that we were told to follow - frankly getting really irritated by these. A bit about myself, I am a BTB who cares a lot about getting her $/time worth so I really hate to spend time or money on stuff that has no purpose. Not sure if anyone is like me ? Hehe!

Anyway, we went to Louvre bridal as well as their Korea campaign attracted us. However, we would need to purchase their AD package which cost 4988$ and could only managed to get that cut to 4300$ which is a bit much for us. Their gowns are really pretty though...and the staff was quite nice and understanding.

The Korea shoots are cheap because they do not do the liaising for you (at additional cost they do), so if you are really busy, this is not the choice for you. It is also not true that Korea PW shoots average 4K, some studios do have staff who can email in English and u can get a fairly decent one for 3k and below by contacting them directly. Just to share that studios need 3-6 months to get the photos and stuff done for you. So if you are having an early wedding next year and are interested in KR shoots, you kind of need to arrange it by now :x Will share more once I have confirmed my shoot date.

Hihi, my AD is end July 2017, guess I do have sufficient time to do a Korea wedding shoot, but i'm planning to do it in December. Same as you, i've not booked or confirmed anything yet. Right now I'm quite busy with moving and renovation as my new home has just TOP, quite cash strapped as well. :( I've seen many bad reviews about Lourve Bridal in this forum, so did not consider them. Lucky for you to get nice and understanding staff with them, did you sign up with them in the end or you DIY? I'm trying to make an appointment with ido wedding, think they are a bit pricey (if not wrong 3k++ excluding AD) but so far reviews are quite okay. Do share more after you've done your shoot!

yea my house is coming up soon too so I would be broke as well :(
I walked out of Louvre given that their package would make me more worse off haha.
They also tried to tell us that our offer is valid on the spot only - though they didn't hard sell, i didn't quite like this kind of psychological tactic considering that it was the first shop I visited.
IDO wedding can be expensive and based on their Facebook page I feel that their fan likes does not tally with their per post like (lol i dont know why I care about all these haha). I would recommend HelloMuse, they do provide studios that do shoots for SGD2600 and below, you might wanna try contacting them first ^^

I have visited Louvre bridal too. We are not planning for Korea trip, because I have other plans for my honeymoon that will cost me a bomb. Everything is just spending.
Most likely we are confirming with Louvre bridal after 4 comparisons made over the past months. We still prefer their gowns, agree with you that their gowns are very pretty.
The bridal consultant whom we met was very easy to talk to and not at all pushy. That's why we took our time to shop around for these few months first.

Does the AD package quote you have include others things like photographer/ videographer for AD? They quoted me much lower price actually. I am going for just the bridal package only.
I prefer to look around for other free-lance photographers to take my AD. Any recommendations?

which other bridal places did you go? are you doing pre wedding shoots with them?
yea the gowns are really pretty!

i agree they didn't sound pushy during consultation too, just that the deal that they wanted to give us expires the moment we walk out of the place (there were some stuff we didn't need like flowers etc), that was the pushy part to me though I could understand why they do that.

yeap the AD package only (before subtracting all the things we do not need) includes photography - so 2800+1500 which was still more than what we were budgeting. The $4988 version (inclu photography) was with the Korea campaign.

I have surfed through a few photographers and they kind of range around that price too, you might wanna try those who self-advertise on clubsnap but not sure if they would be good. The one i really liked was ksana.co but her prices are going to be steep - you will see why from her pictures lol.

jus some update:
went to the gown warehouse after work and their package is at nett prices, you can email them and they are extremely transparent. the cheapest i think is 1588, or u can do ala carte starting from 300+ per gown. premium ones 1288 IIRC.
you are allowed to try the gowns without any charge. I even told the person upfront we are 100% not signing with them today and they are ok.
tried like 5-6 gowns on the day, so happy!! I m not a person who is looking for THE ONE dress (what does that even mean?), so I m really not very fussy about how the dress should look, down to the T. but if you are, they do MTM also.

went to suntec bridal fair yesterday. Got cheated, because I thought there were a few bridal shops promoting but it was only seletar broadway.
i had friends who took their package before and recommend it to me so I was not too apprehensive. Package wise is better than TGW as they threw in more things (inc. free trial makeups, bridal car decor) for the price of 1800, price exclusive for that day only (that was what we managed to get, may be different for you ah). but in the end we walked away from the deal (and they started to say a lot of things to try and convince us to stay). Actually they say the most stuff compared to TGW n louvre. HTB and I were never once impressed by all these hard selling, so that actually made us decide not to proceed with them.

Looks like the most likely choice is TGW for us already! Frankly we are quite tired with all these search and TGW provided the best service (no hardsell, can try gown, place looks really nice too), we will be making appointment with kwedding (also in the same place as TGW) so will update as i go along!

Never heard of kasana. I will check them out. Thanks.

I shopped a few bridals. My Dream Wedding, etc. I might skip the pre-wedding since we don't see the need to do it. Maybe your package is a special one that they customized for you on the day. That's why the package expires?
Compared to the bridals I shopped, Louvre bridal is the most friendly and the rest bridals are more pushy than them. Anyway I won't sign those pushy type bridals too.

I have read some reviews about TWG and my friend had their service too. Remarks from my friend wasn't that good, so that's why TWG is not in my list.

m_tw, yes there were stuff we didn't need so they took them out/exchange for others etc. This was the same with Seletar n TGW though TGW didn't expect us to decide on that day. May I know what did your friend say? More details are always good :D

Hi all 2017 BTBs!!!
I've been trying to search high and low but to no avail. I'm toying with the idea of a destination wedding as I prefer to keep my wedding small and intimate and HTB is going crazy by inviting everyone he knows haha. So far, I haven't quite been able to find Singaporeans posting about it and I'm wondering if someone here has thought about it/know anyone who has pulled it off/read anywhere that has more reviews from singaporean couples? Knowing my parents it's most likely not going to happen but looks like a local small wedding is not happening for me :( Please adv!!

coconutella, oh dear. they didn't push us this far, hope it was not traumatising for you.
you can choose your photographer w/o going thru them right? If so, then the photography would not be a problem.
it should not be too bad, but if you are really uncomfortable, maybe you can sell the package away?

It's strange cuz we weren't even allowed to pay deposit only since they quote quite low for us we were asked to pay in full.

We signed for the full bridal package so photographer is already included. Only thing i can do is just communicate with the photographer on what kind of style i like. Hopefully he can produce what i want. I ever thought of selling it away but not sure at 2k deposit who will be willing to take over the package...

coconutella, oh dear, it does seem a little difficult, but you can try to sell if you really dislike. or maybe try and nego away the photographer if you really dislike?

Short update again (lol)
we have paid deposit for pre-wedding in Korea directly to the studio (i.e. no agent)
we have selected Gaeul Studio for our shoot and it cost about 2.6k (all photos returned, 5 gowns, 40pages etc)
the shoot will only happen next year, so this would probably be the last update about pre-wedding photography until then :D

Planning your wedding ala-carte is a wonderful experience, albeit stressful at times :) I engaged a wedding planner to help me and it was worth it! the load of stress taken off is so much more relief. You can consider loveinstills for your AD/Prewedding PG, their rates is a steal considering their quality and level of service.
Hi, do you mind sharing your Loveinstills packages with me. Thanks in advance.[email protected]

Hi everyone! Calling for 2017 Brides!

I signed a package with Signature Bridal for the following services
- Bridal x 4 outfits (they will provide free hand bouquet)
- Customized Deco (you can choose any design from theirs and change their colors according to your own liking!)
-Tiffany Chairs (Gold, Silver, Bronze) *you have to however ask your caterer to provide tables.
-Photography (8hrs)
-Videography (8hrs)

All of these cost $13, 040. However, due to few changes, I am changing my bridal and other package listed above. Need someone to replace my position.
My wedding date is on 29/07/2017. You can still discuss with the person in charge and request for a change of date. (depends if they still have a slot)

I am paying them by installment payment.
And up to date I have made a total payment of $1,504.

If you guys are keen to be a replacement, we can discuss further.
And please take note that payment of $1,504 will have to be made to me.

You can view them at Signture Bridal @ Facebook & Instagram! Super nice deco and outfits!
Thanks a lot guys.

Lots of love.

Hi there! I'm new here, chanced upon this forum when I was searching for wedding ideas.

I'm actually qte torn between the dates selection. I have my Reno completing by Dec 16. And ideally it wld be best if I cld hold a wedding in Jan17 to be in line with my anniversary. However, I reckon it's too rush a timeline now, and financially it cld be qte taxing. And then we have CNY in Feb, my best friend's wedding in Mar (which I don't want to miss), and April (which I have another wedding to attend).

Earliest I can look at is in May. But I'm still not sure as I have a few considerations:
My best friend can't attend any wedding within 3 mths of her own, and as such if I hold it in May, she can't attend. Plus, we have some relatives in the states and they can only be back in June.

I'm qte torn, not sure which date to choose. I know I can't please the whole world but at this juncture I just don't know how to proceed (been procrastinating for at least the last 2 months)

Any advise wld be very much appreciated.

yes i did! I think because a lot of chinese from HK, China and TW are going over there to take photos so the smart Koreans also came up with these "international" service and can converse in both Mandarin and English. Is still early days, so I cannot comment about their service unfortunately.

Janessa, did you pick the large ballroom at OCC or the smaller one? Am shortlisting that place too :D

Oh!tigger, so maybe hold it in June, it sounds like both your best friend and your relatives can attend then :)

Feeling very sorry for myself now
Will be going to Paris to take my pre wed photos tomorrow. In Apr I went to a MTM dressmaker to order 2 white gowns, 1 red gown and 2 suits. Thinking so early surely nothing will go wrong right? WRONG!

He committed delivery several times in Jul and Aug but never honored his words. We msg him, called him but couldn't get him. Ended up he screwed up one white gown, made a ugly red gown that made me look aunty when I worn it and failed to deliver 1 suit. All happening 1.5 weeks before I am scheduled to fly. And there is no time to make changes anymore

What was supposed to be a happy exciting occasion, left me scrambling to all bridal boutiques to find replacements, full of worry and anger. I had to take urgent leave from work and ran around like crazy

And I have to rush through the whole process cuz I don't have time to slowly pick out gowns I like. Have to make do with what I can get and look ok in.

Never in my life have I imagined my pre wedding shoot will be like this. This is what a horrible MTM dress maker done to me. I hope he can sleep in peace at night... sobs

hope everything will go smoothly for your shoot in Paris!
