When to buy resale?

My thoughts are to quickly start and find one ASAP! I started the process like half a year ago. Till now I still can't find any resale unit that I like. Not sure is it me being picky or what. But now I'm very very worried that I wont have a home before I get married.

Start now!! the best time is not about when your wedding day is, its about when its a better price to buy. haha. i think now the property market is quite good.

what is it that you don't like on the previous unit you saw? the most impt thing to me on resale is the location and price. thats all.
Hi all, actually I spoke to a few agents and they say now is too early to choose a house as we require marriage cert submission at first appointment for subsidy. One agent even ask me to start finding only oct this yr which i think is too long.
I will be getting only specific area though so i am worried if i found a house now and hdb dun let me push the submission of marriage cert

ohhhh.. if thats the case then nothing much you can do thou. unless you want to just do the rom first which many ppl do before their wedding day.

First thing was prices all at high side. Then plus the houses were not well maintained, even the bomb shelter "storeroom" door was all rusty already. Maybe cos my area all ard 10-15yrs flats. So I need to top up a lot for Reno which I don't feel is worth it.

price should be decent now. imagine last year or the year before...... haha. seriously, buying a resale means you going to revamp your whole house le. you can't find one very well maintained one, even if you do, you will probably gonna do renovation too.

Yup, a few agents replied me and gave me different answers. Some say i can start browsing now while some ask me to wait till end of year. Anyways, i know of someone who collect their keys and they only submitted the cert 6mths later. So hopefully its not so difficult to get the extension.

Hi, just to update.. we emailed hdb before we start looking for house and they replied that though they are willing to exercise flexibility for the extension, they will need the sale n purchase agreement before they can process our request.

Jus curious, do u ladies believe in fengshui? One master told us only NS facing are good units. But nowadays ALL the projects we see are not NS facing. Like that how?
I am not sure about your fengshui master. I seen Master Long to calculate mine and my fiance ba zi.
I asked him which hdb location or direction is better for us. He said it doesnt matter since Singapore is so small. On top of that, we can use fengshui items to make us more wang.

Can share if this is like some package that you took with him? I'm keen to find out more from him. At least he seem more flexi. The master I spoke to like jus tell me to go find NS facing, then we talk further.
I calculated my ba zi with him only and have not sign with him for fengshui package as my house not ready. For our ba zi calculation, it cost $120.
He provide $100 discount I think from his fengshui package if you go through him to calculate your marriage ba zi.
Ps: He lives in a banglow and has a farari car so I believe his fengshui works on himself definately.

5room is $588 or $688.
I can't really remember his rate. You may want to double check with him.

So you need to already have a flat that you intend to buy before emailing to extend?
Any idea up to how early in advance can we buy a flat?

Hi i've no idea how advance. But yes, we need to submit the application for the purchase first before we can appeal.

Yes. I'm similar case like you. My ROM date on 7th Jan 2017. Now it is a good time to buy resale. Please go apply HLE 1st before looking any agent. And yes, we got to buy a house what we like in 1 month. Actually all depends on luck. Which area are u looking at?

I am looking at Tampines West area....near my parents house.
I am planning to DIY myself to save on agent fee. If we cant find any house within 1 to 2 months, we will engage an agent.
Ps: During hdb seminar, I was told to have a signed agreement with agent on percentage of the house as agent fee before engaging the agent. This is to avoid any dispute in future.
