A Recap of Wedding Styling and Decor Trends in 2025
From timeless elegance to multi-hued furnishings, here are all the wedding styling and decor trends spotted this year that upcoming brides should take note of.
In an age where wedding celebrations are a significant social media highlight, it’s plain to see that every detail—from the font on the invites to a specific lighting choice—matters. One move could make or break the aesthetic cohesiveness of not just one’s matrimony, but also their Instagram feed. Wedding styling and decor trends are constantly evolving for this very reason, as audiences determine what’s fresh and what’s frayed through a swift double-tap on the screen.

Timeless elegance and quiet luxury are what comes to mind when we review the abundance of weddings held this year, whether in our region or by local couples. Fashioned by all-white florals and minimalist bouquets, these celebrations were in a charming class of their own. But that’s not to say that room doesn’t exist for the opposite. A prominent group of couples made a statement with multi-hued, bold installations, showing us how to tastefully implement disharmony.

CASCADING BOUQUETS

Cascading bouquets are a fresh take on traditional bouquets, their movement and texture featured in numerous weddings this year. They come in a vast array of contemporary styles, from lush, voluminous “waterfall” visuals to lighter, asymmetrical designs—some even incorporating more creative additions such as ribbons, pearls and chains. The long, graceful visual lines of cascading bouquets photograph well and are sure to capture attention as the bride walks down the aisle, making them the “it girl” choice amongst modern brides.

The monochromatic visuals are simple yet serene, offering dreamy versatility where variations in textures and styling can be explored. Think: unified, snowy florals or the airiness of draped fabric on seating. Appropriate for any season and style, this styling concept that’s more than easily achievable is a lasting trend that transcends time.
ELEMENTS OF CHILDHOOD

It’s shockingly uncomplicated—elements from the wedding couple’s childhood are rich in storytelling value, and incorporating such symbols in the event not only evoke emotion and nostalgia, but also make for a memorable detail that guests will enjoy. Spotted this year are Studio Ghibli-themed reception decor, Disney postcards, Jenga blocks for guests to write their wishes on, and Lego at activity tables—showing us that the possibilities are indeed endless.

Couples with an eye for style have elevated the guest experience by opting for venues with visually-unique tableware. Artful tablescaping is worth every bit of the hype, making an impactful impression not just on guests in attendance, but also on those who eventually view it in the virtual world. Even if you’re not one to appreciate platters of Peranakan design or multi-coloured, flowery patterns, just using dishes or cutlery with texture or a shade other than white is a subtle move that makes a significant difference.

Bridal dreams came true for these brides who got wed in either the literal terrains of Italy, or a cleverly-chosen space that resembled it entirely. Comprised of breathtaking backdrops that could be natural, styled, or a combination of both, opulent decor elements such as chandeliers and flowing fabrics, and picturesque food and beverage options like a croquembouche tower, this was an apt theme for lovers who appreciate art, culture and everything rustic yet refined.

Fireworks and sparklers are an increasingly popular choice amongst modern couples who want an enchanting, cinematic moment to celebrate their new chapter. Apart from providing stunning photo and video opportunities, they also provide an energy boost—signalling the start of the afterparty for couples hosting a vibrant crowd.
LONG TABLES

Venue: Wheeler’s Tropikana, Image by JIWA PhotographyThough rounded banquet tables are typical in traditional Chinese weddings, long tables seem to be taking over when we observe the wedding styling and decor trends in 2025. Glamorous and not lacking in visual impact with their potential to work well with dramatic floral runners and candles, the long table layout is easily recreated in various settings. Its practical benefits are bountiful as well, fostering just as much opportunity for communal dining as round tables, while making seating charts and allocation easier for the newly-wed couple.

These celebrations make a statement with offbeat styling, every detail phenomenal in its own right—yet amalgamating so effortlessly. Earth-toned, pastel multi-hues or striking in neon, each of these modern weddings boasted floral decor that stood out extravagantly, in equally unconventional venues. Weddings are a celebration of one’s very own fairytale romance, a golden opportunity for couples to do things in a way that’s unapologetically, freely representative of “them”, and seeing more of such matrimonies by modern couples is what we’re eagerly anticipating in upcoming years.
