Samantha and Terrance held a fun and zero-stress wedding at Min Jiang Dempsey, full of bright colours, laughter, and lots of drinks!
From mistaken first impressions in Republic Poly—where Terrance Hoe, 31, Videographer, thought Samantha Ong, 30, Community Manager, was an Ah Lian and Samantha thought Terrance was straight-up rude—to being best friends turned soulmates, today’s Real Wedding couple have come a long way. Dressed in striking red, Samantha and Terrance tied the knot in a bright and colourful wedding at Min Jiang at Dempsey on 9 November 2024, surrounded by colours, laughter, and a whole lot of love. With dual surprise proposals in a candlelit warehouse and a wedding filled with fun, drinks, and zero stress, this couple proves that when you find someone who makes you laugh and keeps you calm, it’s worth saying yes—twice.
How did you first meet?
Samantha: In Republic Poly. When we first saw each other, Terrance thought I was an Ah Lian, while I thought Terrance was a very rude person. After being besties for awhile, Terrance confessed his love to me :D
What do you love most about your partner?
Samantha: He keeps me calm whenever I’m panicking about life. He’s also the funniest person I know. He’s an auntie killer and gets along with everyone I love in my life!
Terrance: She chio.
What was the proposal like?
Samantha: I proposed to him at an empty warehouse with over a hundred candles! Plot twist, he had my ring in his car the entire time and proposed too!
Terrance: Great minds think alike.
What was your wedding theme and what was your wedding day like?
Colours, fun, and drinks! We had the best time at our wedding with our closest friends and family! We weren’t stressed during the entire planning because we both feel that it’s okay even if things go wrong.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Seeing everyone genuinely having a good time. It was also fun watching friends and family get drunk!
