Tabitha and Sean’s White Wedding at Raffles Hotel Singapore and Min Jiang at Dempsey
It took them a few years, but Tabitha and Sean rekindled their love after work brought them together again. They had two gorgeous white celebrations at Raffles Hotel Singapore and Min Jiang at Dempsey together with their family and friends.
Tabitha and Sean, both legal counsels, have known each other since secondary school, but things didn’t work out until they met again years later as colleagues in the same firm. With so much time spent together in the office and after work, they realised they had something really special. After a rather “cheesy” proposal while at a staycation in Capella Singapore, Tabitha and Sean tie the knot with two beautiful celebrations at Raffles Hotel Singapore and Min Jiang at Dempsey.
How did you meet each other?
Tabitha: Sean was my go-to guy for underage party tickets back when we were both in secondary school. I guess that was how we became friends. It was purely platonic back then!
Sean and Tabitha: For reasons which remain unknown to the both of us, we ended up dating very briefly when we were in junior college but things did not work out then (read: Sean disappeared)!
Sean: Life brought us together seven years later when we serendipitously ended up in the same firm after graduation (Tabitha really dreaded this initially). We picked up where we left off and rekindled our friendship whilst on the same planning committee for a firm event. After countless late-night suppers after work and burnt weekends in the office, we grew closer and…
Tabitha: … I started #KeepingTabsOnSean!
What was the proposal like?
Sean: While I would have preferred to propose overseas, we were in the thick of the pandemic and travel was restricted with no end in sight. As a result, I decided to book a few nights’ stay at Capella Singapore on the pretext of an overdue anniversary celebration. Being the spontaneous person that she is, Tabitha did not suspect a thing and was more excited to be going on a mini holiday since it had been some time since we travelled.
Tabitha: Nothing was particularly suspicious save that Sean was exceptionally nice to me throughout the day, at every opportunity – not that I was complaining! We had dinner in our room, and I only started to suspect something might be up when he insisted we had to order a cheese platter despite both of us being extremely full from dinner and fatigued from spending too much time in the sun. By that point, I was already falling asleep… I really couldn’t understand why we had to have cheese on the balcony that night.
Sean: The cheese came and as our bottle of port depleted, I ran out of time and liquid courage and got down on one knee! What a cheesy and perfect end to the night!
What was your wedding day like?
Sean and Tabitha: It was magical, and we were just so happy to see everyone – friends and family, some of whom had flown in from overseas – masks off and celebrating our special day with us! It was very surreal!
How were your wedding vendors?
Sean and Tabitha: Fiona and Dan from Smittenpixels are an A-team and it was an absolute dream having them document our special day. We hit it off from the very first meeting at Fiona’s office and the whole process was organic, personal, and most importantly, fun! It was as if we had long-time friends looking out for us and cheering us on all weekend. The synergy they had with our videographer Fairoz from Highest Kite Weddings was another level. Thank you once again Fiona and Dan for your friendship and the beautiful photos. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Fairoz for making us so comfortable in front of the camera and delivering a wedding film we will cherish forever – thanks buddy!
