Natalie and Clinton’s Vibrant, Floral Wonderland Wedding at The St. Regis Singapore

Natalie and Clinton celebrated their love and newfound marital status with a beautiful wedding at The St. Regis Singapore, filled with wonderful blooms and the love and blessings from their loved ones.
Natalie and Clinton met on a dating app. As it turns out, not only was he was her first match and meet up, he would also be her last match and meet up, for the two hit it off and became an item. After an overseas proposal that almost didn’t happen, Natalie and Clinton decided to take the next step in their relationship and tied the knot at Trinity Methodist Church and The St. Regis Singapore, where vibrant and happy blooms were in abundance, along with the love and blessings of their loved ones.
What was the proposal like?
Natalie: Clinton proposed to me on the top of Alishan in Taiwan, at sunrise! What was funny was that the day before, I was having really bad food poisoning and he was really worried that the proposal would have to be called off! Thankfully, everything settled and he managed to go ahead with what he had planned!
Share your wedding planning journey with us. Where was your wedding venue, and what was your wedding theme?
Natalie: We held our solemnisation at our church, Trinity Methodist Church. We always knew that this was where we wanted to have our ceremony as it was the church Clinton grew up in and where we’ve been attending service as a couple for the past few years! For our wedding banquet, initially we were planning for a big wedding and not many places accommodated the 400-person guest list we were thinking of! Eventually, we chose The St. Regis Singapore because of their amazing ballroom, service and the great central location which made it more convenient for our guests!
We didn’t really know how to come up with a theme but we both knew that we wanted loads of florals at both venues and for the colour scheme to tally! Our wedding stylist, Brendan at Fellow Folks, helped us come up with a mood-board with the colour schemes and floral themes that we wanted! 100% credit goes to him and his team because they went above and beyond with prepping for our big day.
Take us back to your wedding day. What was the day like and how were you feeling?
Honestly, I thought I would be nervous but I wasn’t very nervous at all! I was more excited for the day to come because we’ve be planning this for so long!
Tell us about your wedding dress. What was it like working with Amanda Lee Weddings?
Miah from Amanda Lee Weddings went above and beyond my expectations for both my custom-made dresses! It was really important for me to have my mum be really involved in my outfits for the big day, and Miah never failed to include her in the design and decision making. We decided to go with custom-made, rental gowns as it was difficult to find a gown off-the-rack that could fit my curves and that was long enough for me. For my actual day gown, we wanted an A-line bustier gown with a long train that had a real wow factor. I requested for both lace and bling, and Miah managed to incorporate them both for my gown. Amanda Lee Weddings also does really beautiful appliqué flowers that we really wanted on the gown and Miah did real time pinning of the flowers so we could decide on the positioning.
For the evening gown, I wanted something different. Miah suggested a mermaid style but I was concerned that my curves would not be suitable. Miah reassured me that he would make sure it fits well and it did! I was so in love with that dress and so happy that I put my trust in Miah! it turned out so much better than I imagined and the appliqué flowers blended so well with the sparkly fabric!
What did your family/friends have to say about your wedding day?
Our guests all had a great time! They couldn’t stop talking about our décor, outfits and the whole ceremony. Although the wedding was much smaller than we had initially planned for, it also made the ceremony feel so much more cosy and we had enough time to spend with each guest!
Share with us the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Natalie: I don’t think there was a specific moment for me! The whole wedding was magical!
Clinton: I actually forgot to bring my shirt to the hotel! I only realised this half an hour before we were supposed to march-in! Our wedding planner dashed down and bought a shirt off-the-rack for me. So, this is the most memorable and unforgettable moment for me!
What is one lesson you’ve learned from your wedding planning that you’d like to share with other couples?
We’d have to say that it would be to definitely get advice from your vendors! They always know best and can offer really good options and ideas for the wedding.
