Chelsea and Jason’s Stylish White Wedding at The St. Regis Singapore
Chelsea and Jason tied the knot in a spectacular all-white wedding at The St. Regis Singapore.
Thanks to an unlikely meeting that brought them together seven years ago, Chelsea and Jason found love in each other and became lifetime soulmates. After a thrilling morning of dinosaurs and gladiators, they celebrated their union on 24 January 2016 at the prestigious The St. Regis Singapore in a full glamour white wedding planned by Spellbound Weddings. Every fun, joyous and emotional moment of Chelsea and Jason’s lovely wedding celebration was perfectly captured by Alwin Lim from Trouvé – just like he did for their captivating pre-wedding session in Perth.
Tell us about the day you met. When, where and how did you meet?
Chelsea: It’s a real funny one! We met at a corridor in Singapore Management University seven years ago. I stopped in my tracks because I chanced upon a man in a pair of turquoise bermudas so thin that his bright coloured underwear peeked through. And he accused me of checking out his rear! True story – and in our pre-wedding video below.
What was the proposal like?
It was kind of random, I guess, since I apparently foiled my own proposal umpteen times because I kept dozing off, refusing to hike or go for scenic walks during our trip to Sardinia, Italy. I told Jason once that I must date someone for five years before I consider marriage, so on the day of our 5th anniversary, Jason proposed while I was getting ready for dinner.
The next day, he arranged for an engagement photoshoot for us. He actually packed my dresses for the shoot! They weren’t exactly photoshoot appropriate but it’s the thought that counts!
Tell us about your wedding planning. How was it like?
It was quite easy to be honest as I used to be in a “student council” society for the business school where there are 1500 students per batch which is way harder than organising a wedding! However, I did like it because I am quite an artistic sort who likes drawing and sketching, so to bring my ideas, visualisation and sketches to life was a huge project that was a testament that I do not have bad taste!
Of course, like many other brides, we had to deal with our parents’ comments and our own procrastination along the way. But it was all good!
What was your actual day like?
It was tiring! While there were some hiccups during dinner, everything went well for the most part. I especially enjoyed listening to all the witty speeches!
Our families and friends had fun during our wedding too! They commended up on the wedding entertainment and the great well-thought-out speeches!
