Kyra and James’s Beautiful Garden Wedding at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa

Kyra and James tied the knot in a beautiful garden-themed Amara Sanctuary wedding, with their dog as their ring bearer!

Kyra Lim, 36, Clinical Database Designer, and James Dellborg, 37, Project Manager, are a Paktor success story! With wedding planning help from Rosette Designs & Co, the couple celebrated their union in a garden wedding on 9 March 2019 at Larkhill Mansion, Amara Sanctuary Resort, Sentosa, so that their dog could be part of the wedding!

How did you meet?

Kyra: We met on a dating app by the name of Paktor. After getting to know each other more through chatting online, we went out for dinner and movie dates.

What do you love most about your partner?

Kyra: What I love most about James is his kind and caring nature. Seeing him care for and love my dog so much during our initial dating days made me feel that he is the one with whom I can see myself growing old.

James: What I love most about Kyra is how supportive she is of my goals and dreams and the way she cares for me as a partner. She also bought me a Playstation 4 when we were dating, which won her serious points!

What was the proposal like?

Kyra: It was a very intimate moment at Finland. I was pretty upset with the bad weather as we had travelled all the way there to catch the aurora borealis but were unable to. So in our glass igloo (or resort to be exact), at 6am in the morning, James proposed to me promising that even though we hadn’t fulfilled this dream we wouldn’t stop until all of my dreams were achieved.

How did you create your wedding?

Kyra: Actually we didn’t have a definite theme in mind, but we wanted our dog to be there to share this memorable day with us. In Singapore the choices of dog-friendly wedding venues are very limited, therefore we decided on a garden-themed outdoor wedding at Larkhill Mansion in Amara Sanctuary Resort, Sentosa in the end.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?

Kyra: For me, it was definitely when our dog ran away with our wedding rings when he was supposed to deliver the rings to us for the ring exchange ceremony!

What was your wedding day like?

Kyra: It was a perfect day for a garden wedding! The sun gave the photos an amazing natural filter, the food was awesome, and guests were happy and relaxed. We couldn’t have asked for more, to be honest.
