Letty and Benjamin’s Incredible Myanmar Pre-Wedding and Stylish Wedding

Fashion label founders Letty and Benjamin’s exotic pre-wedding shoot in Myanmar will blow you away, and you’ll love their stylish wedding, with a whisky bar, handmade details, and a Jenga guestbook!

When a fashion designer weds, you just know the wedding will be super creative, stylish, and beautiful! Letty, 30, Co-Founder of D’nier, and Benjamin, 33, Founder of Whisky Butler and Co-Founder of D’nier, got engaged at the magical “Disney Castle” in Bavaria. Celebrating their love for fashion, the stylish couple had their pre-wedding photos taken in exotic Bagan, Myanmar amongst the rich culture and stunning backdrops. The bride wore Divine Couture when the couple tied the knot on 3 February 2018, toasting to their love with a whisky bar dreamt up by the groom and with styling handmade by the bride!

How did you meet?

Letty: We met at a Muay Thai gym five years ago. Back then, Benjamin was training at the gym and helping me with techniques. We exchanged contact numbers and I made the first move to ask him out.

What do you love most about your partner?

Letty: That would be his consistent willingness to put me above himself. I love how he brings out the best in me. He is everything that I am not.

Benjamin: She is a very kind-hearted person and with this character trait, she always spurs me to be a better person, and constantly reminds me to be kind to everyone around me.

What was the proposal like?

Benjamin: I was supposed to attend a whisky fair in Germany; so I thought I could take this opportunity to propose to her, since I had always wanted to propose at the famous “Disney Castle,” i.e., Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. First, I tricked her into joining me for the whisky fair in Germany, and I told her we could explore other parts of Germany. She agreed and went online to research the cities in Germany she would like to visit; I told her to include the castle as well. After much research, she found a tour guide in Garmisch-Partenkirchen who could show us around Neuschwanstein Castle as well as Zugspitze. I took this opportunity to liaise with the tour guide, and got them to help me create a memorable proposal with Neuschwanstein Castle as the backdrop.

Where did you go for your pre-wedding session?

We went to Bagan in Myanmar for our pre-wedding shoot. We have always loved outdoor scenes, nature, and places with deep culture. At the same time, we hoped to shoot our pre-wedding photos in places that not many people would venture. Hence, we picked Bagan. It is indeed a hidden gem.

How did you create your wedding?

Letty: Being a designer, I love handicrafts and getting my hands dirty. Hence, most of the props used were handmade within one month of the wedding date.

Benjamin: As a whisky enthusiast, I had always dreamt of a whisky themed wedding. However, that will also mean that my guests would be drunk even before my first march in! After much discussion, we decided to set up a whisky bar during our cocktail reception. To celebrate and commemorate our special day, I bottled a limited expression with our wedding photograph on it.

What was your wedding day like?

We have five words to describe the entire day – great, rushed, overwhelming, exciting, and emotional! We felt like we were A-list celebrities, with all the guests as our fans, photographers and videographers as paparazzi, close friends and family as our personal assistants.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?

Benjamin: The most memorable moment for me would be the moment I signed on the dotted line with our parents as witnesses.

Letty: Mine was during the tea ceremony to both of our parents. The moment was an emotional one. We both teared badly.
