Home grown fashion label, Love, Bonito, and her co-founders, Rachel Lim and Viola Tan, are no strangers to fans of online shopping. Known for dressing women up with quality and trendy apparels at wallet-friendly prices since their inception in 2010, Love, Bonito hopes to inspire brides with their new 2017 LYLAS collection, a regular installment of bridemaid dresses that will be updated twice a year.
A pioneer in the local fashion scene, Love, Bonito aspired to provide the modern woman with affordable womenswear that was stylish and empowering. Determined to inspire confidence and the right way to dress up, Rachel saw an opportunity to create a new line of bridesmaid apparels that were not only beautifully made and stylish, but designed to complement women of all shapes and sizes. “Recognising that every woman is beautiful in her own way, we wanted to redefine the concept for bridesmaids’ outfits,” Rachel discloses enthusiastically. “That inspired us to design a collection of dresses, tops and bottoms in various silhouettes and cuts in three main colour themes that will cater to different body shapes, fashion styles and wedding themes.”
Featuring a total of 19 apparels made up of dresses, tops and bottoms in universally flattering shapes like the fit-and-flare, off-shoulder and wide-leg cut for pants, and a wider range of sizes from XXS to XXL for selected styles, the 2017 LYLAS collection, which stands for “Love You Like A Sister”, embodies Rachel’s belief that women should feel confident and good in their own skin regardless of dress size and personal style, and her hope to inspire and build a sisterhood and bond between a bride and her bridesmaids through the collection.
The versatility and functionality of the apparels is without doubt the highlight of this collection. “The team and I are very excited about the variety of silhouettes in the LYLAS collection and how it brings out outfit options for a woman to mix and match to exude their style and personality.”
“Aside from looking good, it’s crucial that your bridesmaids also feel comfortable and confident in their outfits as they are going to be of great help to you on your wedding day!” Rachel points out. “All I wanted for my bridesmaids’ outfits were to be functional and comfortable to wear while at the same time bringing out their best features so that they’ll be confident on my big day. So, I chose six different outfits for each of them for my wedding last year,” she shares. “Although the outfits were different, they were in the same colour theme, mood and style.”
