Jo Ring and Ryan’s Beautiful Chijmes Wedding
Love at first sight led to love eternal for Jo Ring and Ryan, who tied the knot in a beautiful Chijmes wedding, showered with the blessings of family and friends.
It was love at first sight for Tan Jo Ring, 28, Hospitality Specialist, and Ryan Hon Choon Hong, 28, Entrepreneur, when they met in college. After dating for almost six years, the couple tied the knot on 11 February 2018. Dressed in Yvonne Creative Bridal, Jo Ring and Ryan celebrated their union at the beautiful Chijmes Hall Singapore surrounded by the love and joy of their friends and families.
How did you two meet each other?
Both of us happened to be studying in the same school but in different classes and years. However, we chanced upon each other and it was love at the first sight. Four years later, we got in touch again and that’s how our relationship started.
What’s one of the things you love most about your partner?
Jo Ring: What I love about Ryan are his confidence level and his eyes. The way he carries himself has never failed to impress me. The eyes are the windows to the soul; through his, I can see his sincerity towards me and our future. I’m sure I will be well taken care of by him. He is my first love and my last.
Ryan: Jo Ring is my true love. Her sincerity and her confidence touches me over and over. In fact, she will never put me into a situation where I feel hopeless. She is my pride, my motivation, and the one who takes care of me. We will grow old together hand in hand, and overcome everything that gets in our way.

What was the proposal like?
Jo Ring: The proposal took place in Bali at Ma Joly Restaurant, with a nicely set-up table by the beach. Ryan waited for the sun to set, grabbed my hands, and thanked me for being there for him those few days. He then knelt and proposed to me. I was shocked and started tearing. I said, “Yes!”
What did you want for your wedding?
Jo Ring: Both Ryan and I had always wanted to hold a wedding with in a venue with high ceilings and a beautiful ambience. We visited Chijmes Hall Singapore and immediately fell in love with it.
SingaporeBrides helped us a lot in choosing our vendors. Our wedding vendors were the most perfect bunch that I have ever worked with. They were professional and efficient, and knew what we wanted and helped us achieve it. What was your wedding day like?
It was smooth, well-planned and organised. Special thanks to our Chijmes wedding coordinator, Shermaine, for ensuring that everything was taken care of, and for her tip-top service! Not to forget our bridesmaids and groomsmen who helped us a lot in coordinating with one another. They are more than just best friends!
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
We would say that the pre-wedding shoot was the most memorable experience together. As it was our first shoot together, we thought we would be rather nervous on set. However, I was surprised that Ryan was enjoying the entire process, and we totally enjoyed ourselves in the end. Even though it was tiring, laughter and jokes accompanied us along the way. The photographer ensured that we were comfortable and being ourselves.
