A Taste of the Elegant Lewin Terrace Menu for Wedding Celebrations

At our wedding food tasting session, we experienced the excellent Lewin Terrace menu and Japanese hospitality that make the elegant and romantic restaurant a perfect wedding venue.

We were invited for a wedding food tasting at Lewin Terrace, and were delighted to sample the restaurant’s fine dining offerings. During our private session, we were also treated to impeccable, personal service that makes the wedding venue stand out for couples looking for a comprehensive wedding planning experience.

An Elegant Wedding Venue

Nestled in the quiet greenery of Fort Canning Park, Lewin Terrace is a beautifully restored slice of history. The elegant black-and-white colonial bungalow sits atop a romantic flight of steps, and invites you into a charming, tranquil haven away from the busy city. A beautiful choice for intimate wedding celebrations, the three-year-old restaurant has hosted over 150 weddings to date.

A Capacity for Intimacy

The cosy restaurant features a beautiful, romantic alfresco terrace secluded by the surrounding trees, offering an idyllic venue for intimate solemnisations of up to 40 guests. Indoors, Lewin Terrace is partitioned into a private dining room that seats 20 guests, and an indoor room seating 40. Each space has natural daylight streaming in from charming colonial windows. With its understated elegance, the restaurant is lovely for small weddings where couples can spend time with their nearest and dearest.

Hosted by Japanese Hospitality

Lewin Terrace is helmed by Tsukada Global Holdings, a leading Japanese wedding service provider and a pioneer in “guesthouse weddings,” where couples can offer heartfelt hospitality to their wedding guests at one of the group’s specialised wedding venues. Fine Dining

At the heart of a beautiful wedding at Lewin Terrace is the quality of its dining. Understanding that couples choose restaurant weddings to celebrate over excellent food, Lewin Terrace takes pride in presenting elegant Japanese-French fusion cuisine created using only the finest and freshest ingredients. A master of French culinary techniques with over 30 years of experience, including working in Michelin-starred restaurants in France, Chef Keisuke Matsumoto helms the Lewin Terrace culinary team. Couples who want a bespoke wedding menu can work with Chef Matsumoto to create a unique line-up to delight their wedding guests.

To help couples in their wedding decision-making, Lewin Terrace offers a monthly wedding food tasting session at a nominal rate of $25 per pax. The food tasting session is a preview of the restaurant’s exquisite fine dining experience. Far from a boisterous wedding fair where vendors fight for your attention, the session begins with a personal tour of the venue before you sit down to a private meal, impeccably served.

Our wedding food tasting was a lovely way to spend an idyllic afternoon, enjoying a beautiful meal in the romantic seclusion of the restaurant. To start, our friendly waiter served us with a warm and fragrant breadbasket of Japanese hard loaf and French soft bun. Our beautifully presented cold entrĂ©es featured juicy seafood in a rich green pea puree, topped with coriander foam and micro greens, and surprising bites of dashi, or jellied stock. Tasty and refreshing, the dish whetted our appetites for our sampling of both the mains available that session—Cod Saikyoyaki and Kurobuta Pork Loin. Perched on a bed of tender root vegetables, the grilled cod was light and buttery, and flaked perfectly onto the fork. The pork medallions were served with an apple cider vinaigrette and spiced vegetables. For dessert, we had a sweet and salty surprise. Definitely a first for me, the soyu ice cream had clear notes of its soya sauce flavour, rounded with a caramelised sweetness that made it surprisingly delicious. Served with corn pudding, it’s sure to be a hit with local wedding guests.

For a taste of your wedding at Lewin Terrace, make a date with their next monthly wedding food tasting on 30 April 2017.
