Renowned for having intricate coloured details on white gowns when Amanda Lee Weddings first began, the designer takes her own walk through history with the Something Blue collection. “This collection is a return to my roots, with a current twist,” she says. Soft mermaid silhouettes, one of Amanda Lee Weddings signature shapes, are reinterpreted using fabrics such as printed silk jersey and georgette. French lace, tulle, and organza give the collection delicate texture and reveal the romance in every bride’s heart. Created for the modern bride who isn’t afraid of tradition, the Fall/Winter 2017 Amanda Lee Weddings gowns collection speaks to women who want to celebrate their joy with a touch of colour, and express their own unique sense of style.
Utterly graceful and with a lingering sensuality, the Fall/Winter 2017 Amanda Lee Weddings gowns play with a wintery palette that is as refreshing as new snow. “Shades of blue from Tiffany, sky, and dusty blue to navy and midnight are matched with nude, yellow, and blush to create interesting and unexpected combinations,” Amanda tells us.
A stunning lace mermaid gown fluttering with laser-cut petals in pure white turns to reveal a wisp of sweet blue ribbon trailing down its long lace train. Soft blue tones cascade in crystal-embroidered lace down dusty mauve and buttercup yellow. A svelte mermaid silhouette with a crisp white skirt is juxtaposed with an illusion lace top meticulously hand-sewn with silk bias piping, creating floral textures on the sheer bodice. Brides who like the drama of a two-in-one look will love its detachable organza peplum and train, which add dramatic glacial curves to the gown. For the evening, the midnight blue number with its gold shimmer and bold print makes a striking and glamorous statement.
