How did the two of you meet?
Jeremy: We were secondary school classmates who only got together a much, much later.
What drew you to each other?
Charlene: A common love for all things unique. We were always trying new things together, be it sports, games, or music. Eventually that grew into something bigger.
What was the proposal life?
Charlene: Unexpected but awesome. We had just hiked up Mount Takao in Hachioji, Japan and were resting at the top when Jeremy suggested taking a more scenic route down. The route down went past a waterfall and across a suspension bridge, and he suggested we take a .gif on the bridge itself. He pretended to prep the Gopro at the edge of the suspension bridge while I did stupid poses in the middle of it. He eventually joined me in the middle and got down for a clichéd kneeled proposal; it was ridiculously funny but also kinda romantic.
What was the theme of your wedding?
Charlene: Geometric Modern. We wanted something sleek, modern, and creative to break the typical traditional wedding template. We didn’t handmake any items but our wedding planner, Amperian, handmade a lot of personal touches, like the groom’s boutonniere. My gown was made from scratch by the multi-talented Anna Khoo.
What was your wedding day like?
Jeremy: EARLY. We’re both night owls so the early morning start was a little painful for us. The wedding day went off very well though, much better than we expected. The décor was perfect, thanks to our wedding decorators, Amperian, the food was perfect, and though we had a few mix-ups with the seating, our Tin Hill Social wedding manager and coordinator Marie-Christine and Lidia, and our bridesmaids and groomsmen resolved everything without breaking a sweat. We received a lot of compliments even after the wedding on the décor and the food.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Charlene: Drinking teh c peng and eating lor mai kai en route to the restaurant.
Could you tell us the cost of your wedding, and your number of guests?
Jeremy: About $24,000 in total; 140 guests.
