A Simple and Classy Affair at Tamarind Hill
Jenn and James first met at work. Together, they’ve weathered through many ups and downs, and have been there for one another throughout the years. 9 years later, the fun-loving couple decided to tie the knot at an intimate celebration at the historic and rustic Tamarind Hill, surrounded by friends and family.

What was the proposal like?
He proposed at the old estate where we used to live at. We were there for breakfast when he suddenly went down on one knee. Given the narrow walkway, it was a challenge for him to assume that pose. He presented me with a very pretty ring, so I’m not complaining!
You and James decided to tie the knot at the historic Tamarind Hill. Tell us more about your decision and your big day.
We wanted a wedding that was more relaxing and down-to-earth, and the rustic feel of Tamarind Hill was exactly what we’re looking for. Their food and service standards were also up to James’s high expectations, so it was an easy choice for us. Our wedding planning was fuss-free as we kept the decorations simple and classy, with no need for flowers. It was just all greens and candles. We gave away 2 different rustic-looking bottle openers in the shape of a key as our wedding favours because the majority of our guests are fans of all kinds of alcohol.
We decided to go with free seating for our guests, so they could choose to sit wherever and with whomever they choose to. And for the VVIPs – my 10-year old boy, Atlas, and his friends, a special long table seating arrangement and menu was made for them.

I knew I wanted to work with Amanda Lee Weddings right from the start, as both James and I wanted to wear something unconventional for our special day. I approached Amanda with a vision for a Kebaya-inspired dress for my solemnisation ceremony that could also be transformed into a fun and easy-to-move-in dress for the rest of the evening. Amanda’s very creative, talented and bold, so I had no qualms that I would be saying my “I do’s” in a stunning dress. Until today, I have friends who still remember the beautiful dress that made me look like me, but in a different way.
Did your guests enjoy themselves?
Absolutely! Everyone loved the food and the bar that was situated right in the center of the restaurant!
