Picturesque Rooftop Weddings at ARTEMIS
There is a hidden gem sitting right above the CapitaGreen Building at Market Street. The view from Artemis is amazing whether you’re dining indoors or sipping cocktails at the Roof Terrace. And guess what? They’re open for weddings too.
Located on the 40th floor, Artemis is a wonderful respite from the concrete jungle below at the CBD. Established by The Red Door Group, which also brought us Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse and Soi 60 Thai, Artemis is stylish and yet welcoming. The restaurant features contemporary Mediterranean cuisine using organic and sustainable produce synonymous with the flavours of coastal Spain, Southern France, Italy and Greece, and I was invited to try some of the dishes.
The Interiors
The colours that Artemis uses are neutral and welcoming, and I think they bring out the view from the 40th floor really well, both in the day and in the evening. There are three main areas in the restaurant; the Main Dining Room, which accommodates up to 100 people, the outdoor Rooftop Terrace, which also accommodates up to 100 people, and two private dining rooms, which can hold up to 36 people combined.
My host mentioned that there have been many product launches, private dinners, and even weddings that have been held at Artemis, and the versatile space is highly customisable to fit any configuration, whether it is small pockets of tables or a long table. The modern and neutral colours also let any kind of decoration stand out beautifully.
The Food
Choosing straight from the current Lunch Menu, I tried the Heirloom Beetroot, Beetroot Tortellini, and Crispy Heirloom Cauliflower for entrees. my host had the Duck Confit Salad–which smelled absolutely lovely as I was taking the pictures–while I had the Iberico Pork Chop for mains.
I love that Artemis has so many vegetarian options that are so tasty and beautifully plated, you forget that you’re actually just having vegetables. All three dishes we shared for entrees were very appetising, from the refreshing Heirloom Beetroots, to the flavourful tortellini, to the crunchy purple cauliflower with a surprising spicy kick. The ingredients were fresh and they each held their own taste; the colours didn’t mask the natural sweetness from the produce.
When the Iberia Pork Chop was placed before me, I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish the generous portion. But I did. It was so sinful, but it was worth it. The pork chop smelled heavenly and I started to regret finishing the entrees. However, the pork was not as rich as I anticipated it to be. The smokiness was definitely there, as was the unmistakable marbling in the thick slices. The light taste made the dish very palatable, and I cleaned the plate.
But that also meant I had no more space in my belly for desserts. I saw what was up for offer from the current dessert menu, and I knew I had to go back again for them.
During my time at the restaurant, I was told about the three couples who have held their weddings at Artemis, and about how different their preferences were. The good thing is, Artemis was able to accommodate to special requests, such as a particular layout requirement, or special dietary customisation, as well as incorporating the outdoor Rooftop Terrace in a couple’s celebrations. They are now in the process of installing a retractable marquee to cater for Singapore’s unpredictable weather conditions.
Artemis has also come up with new wedding packages that allow couples to tailor the restaurant’s offerings according to their needs, picking from a Mediterranean melting pot of wood-fired Heirloom produce that champions quality and sustainability, including meats that are grass-fed and hormone-free, and the largest selection of vegetarian and gluten-free dishes in Singapore. Packages start from $128++ per guest for a four course meal and $95++ per guest for three hours of free flow house wines, beers and non-alcoholic beverages. With an additional charge, you can even get the bar to customise an arrival cocktail just for your wedding!
Artemis is located at Level 40, 138 Market Street, Singapore 048946. Nearest MRT is Raffles Place. For reservations and details, please call +65 6635 8677 or visit artemisgrill.com.sg.
