The Louvre Bridal–Timeless Elegance Episode Three

The Louvre Bridal and W Singapore—Sentosa Cove showed couples how they could wed like K-pop stars at the first Korean-inspired wedding show in Singapore on Sunday, 17 July 2016, with romantic gowns featuring extravagantly dramatic sheer tulle capes and floral embroidered trains that upped the ante on glamour.

Entering the idyllic oasis of W Singapore—Sentosa Cove, couples experienced firsthand the glamour awaiting them at their own K-star weddings. The pillar-less Great Room welcomed couples into the grandeur created by its soaring 7-metre-high ceilings, dazzling floral chandeliers, and glowing walls. At 720 square metres, the Great Room seats up to 480 guests in its beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. Walking out to the Great Room’s alfresco area, couples got a vision of their grand entrance via a yacht through the gleaming marina, and the beautiful solemnisation set-up overlooking the cove completed the picture. A romantic exchange of vows against a backdrop of sea and sky in the alfresco area segues easily into the glamorous celebrations inside the adjoining Great Room.

The wedding showcase highlighted the various ways a couple could celebrate their unique connection in K-star style, and The Louvre Bridal and their official partner the Korea Tourism Organisation gave couples a glimpse of their own glamorous pre-wedding shoots in beautiful Korea. Their K-star dreams came to life as The Louvre Bridal kicked off their fashion showcase with a K-pop dance performance by a girl group in short and flirty wedding dresses. The mood softened with a romantic Korean ballad as the first of The Louvre Bridal’s gowns opened the Korean designer collection.

Episode three of the Timeless Elegance series once again showcased beautiful Korean-style wedding gowns embroidered with fine lace in unique designs such as floral vines and budding blossoms. Feminine silhouettes like the figure-hugging mermaid and trumpet, and soft tulle off-the-shoulder necklines were prominently featured in the collection, combined with delicate hand-sewn beading and embellished sheer skirts to create a dramatic yet elegant air.

Coloured wedding gowns appeared in classic deep red and indigo, each kept classically elegant with clean lines and minimal embellishments. Recommending Asian brides to wear pastel hues to flatter their skin tones, The Louvre Bridal designed wedding gowns with a hint of colour as well. A white sweetheart ball gown showed a hint of ice blue in its dreamy tulle skirts, and a powder blue off-shoulder gown drew intakes of breath with its gorgeous sheer blue tulle cape that floated lightly into an extravagant train. Another favourite was a romantic sweetheart trumpet gown with a sexy sheer skirt and a luxuriously dreamy cape that bloomed with delicate florals all the way down to a sweeping train.

Hair and makeup completed the Korean bridal look of the Timeless Elegance collection, with bright pink lips and dewy skin, and sparkling hair accessories. The men were not forgotten, and they saw classically cut suits reinvented with bold fabrics in plaid and bright blues.

As the last notes of the K-pop ballad died down and the glamorous spotlights lowered on all of the models, the fashion showcase wound to an end, and couples streamed out to taste the Korean-inspired menu of kimchi fried rice and Korean ginseng soup prepared by W Singapore—Sentosa Cove’s culinary team. They were also treated to a delightful dessert table brimming with adorable cake pops and butterfly-adorned cupcakes, framing the tall, glamorous wedding cakes couples could have at their own K-star weddings.
