A Unique Modern Rustic Experience at DW Workshop
The Editor and I were invited to DW Workshop and we were blown away by the beautiful interior, warm hospitality and exceptional fare.
Housed in a black-and-white colonial house, DW Workshop is the latest addition to the cluster of restaurants at Rochester Park. Founded by Singapore-based design agency, DW Communication, DW Workshop is an inviting space that inspires and encourages creativity and bonding.
Stepping into DW Workshop felt like entering our ideal home. Conceptualised by Sebastian, owner of DW Workshop, the clean, modern rustic and spacious interior was designed to emulate the spaces in a home. The lower floor consisted of a private dining area, where a beautiful wooden table stood ready for intimate gatherings, a cosy living room area for casual meet-ups, a comfortable spot right by The Iconic Fireplace to unwind and relax, and an outdoor patio lounge where stargazing and heart-to-heart talks are encouraged.
The Living RoomThe Iconic FireplaceThe Patio HangoutThe upper floor houses the Communal Dining area– a spacious, rectangular-shaped room with exquisite marble-top tables that can be extended out onto the outdoor veranda space if more room is needed. This beautiful, open space is also home to DW Workshop’s specially curated workshops meant to bring joy and people together.
Curated WorkshopsIt is safe to say that we had fallen in love with the simplistic, minimalist and functional design of the space at DW Workshop. In fact, I loved it so much I even told the Editor that I wanted a second wedding there! After a tour of the unique spaces within DW Workshop, we were treated to a sumptuous fare that looked just as good as it tasted. We experienced first-hand the kind of bonding and shared experiences that DW Workshop is all about as we shared the table with Edalin Ching, Director of DW Communication, and her intern.
The POURSTEADYThe MenusThe GardenWe shared more than the hearty fare that afternoon. We exchanged stories and experiences, and made friends over an elegant spread of The Garden, DW Workshop’s Signature Braised Beef served with dark chocolate shavings, Pan-fried Salmon Trout and an assortment of cakes including the popular Matcha Pie and Sea-salt Caramel Cheesecake. The excellent selection of robust and delicious dishes is a culmination of Sebastian and Chef Edwin’s. They spent months planning and tasting different dishes before they came up with the current menu.
We would have loved to finish the wonderful meal off with a cup of artisanal coffee from POURSTEADY, a robotics-controlled coffee brewing apparatus that produces precision-pour patterns to replace the most difficult, time-consuming stages of the hand-brewing process, but we were simply too stuffed to do so.
Pan-Fried Salmon TroutSignature Braised BeefAssortment of Cakes and PiesThere is no doubt that DW Workshop is the perfect space for couples looking for an intimate, one-of-kind wedding celebration. The alluring spaces at DW Workshop offer the perfect venue for a casual solemnisation of 130 standing guests or an intimate wedding celebration of up to 100 guests. Customisation is also welcomed at DW Workshop. Their team of dedicated professionals are ready to work with you to style your wedding and create a wedding menu of your preference to fulfill your wedding vision.
Oh, and did I mention that every corner of DW Workshop is extremely Instagrammable? Well, now you know.
