Carlton Hotel Singapore Wedding Showcase 2016
The Carlton Hotel Singapore Wedding Showcase 2016 was packed with couples who came to view the splendid ballrooms set up with the latest wedding themes, and to taste the culinary delights by the award-winning Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant.
On Saturday, 2 April, each couple who came was greeted by friendly hosts from Carlton Hotel Singapore, and presented with a goodie bag of exclusive perks before being ushered into the pillar-less Empress Ballroom 4 & 5, which had been configured into one grand, spacious wedding venue. With lofty ceilings illuminated with modern chandeliers, and space enough for 320 guests, Empress Ballroom 4 & 5 is a great wedding venue for a grand celebration. A live band serenaded the ballroom on the prettily decorated stage, with its twinkling backdrop of fairy lights and hydrangea garlands in the new Love Sparkles wedding theme.
Tall centrepieces with hydrangea blooms and trailing eucalyptus graced the banquet tables in the middle of the ballroom. The chefs at Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant displayed their culinary artistry with a delicious spread of canapés including tender smoked duck breast, baby octopus marinated in garlic, and black fungus and jellyfish tossed in Chinese vinegar.
Couples were also treated to a taste of wedding banquet favourites such as smoked Chinese tea soya chicken, braised ling zhi mushrooms with spinach, and five treasures soup made with sea cucumber, crab meat, conpoy, fish maw, and enoki mushroom. To sweeten the feast, Carlton Hotel Singapore’s pastry chefs delighted with a dessert table laden with an elegant macaron tower, adorable chocolate pops, and pretty dessert shots and cupcakes.
The Serenity Garden theme, Carlton Hotel Singapore’s most popular wedding theme, was showcased in Empress Ballroom 1-3. A rustic garden backdrop with a pastel floral arch sets the stage for a modern romance, while the aisle is lined with romantic, garden trellis-like stands holding mason jars filled with fresh flowers. Empress Ballroom 1-3 seats a minimum of 200 guests and a maximum of 280 guests.
For more intimate weddings or solemnisation receptions, couples can choose to celebrate in Esplanade Room 1 & 2, a cosy and private event space that seats up to 120 guests, with a cocktail venue overlooking the Waterfall Terrace. An outdoor solemnisation was showcased at the unique Waterfall Terrace, where couples can exchange their promises of love against a sparkling backdrop. The courtyard seats up to 30 guests, perfect for an intimate ceremony.
During the Carlton Hotel Singapore Wedding Showcase, soon-to-weds were also shown the hotel’s beautiful new bridal suites, which were just refurbished last year. Featuring a separate living room with plenty of seating and an ensuite bathroom with his and hers vanities, the Executive Suite is spacious enough for a whole wedding party to get ready in. The Executive Room is light and airy with its large glass windows and glass bathroom wall.
