Share with us more about your beautiful wedding at Lone Pine Hotel, Penang.
Our hometowns are rather far apart, so we decided to hold the entire wedding ceremony at the hotel, which boasted a beach view and a spacious garden area, where we had our traditional Chinese wedding ceremony. We went with a Western styled garden wedding, a look that we both loved, with a touch of rustic-retro vibe that incorporated royal blue, cream and grey tones.
The biggest challenge of the day was the weather. As every couple with an outdoor wedding knows, raining is always the foremost worry. Thankfully, we were blessed with extremely good weather that day. It was a little overwhelming but everything went as planned and we were able to achieve our dream garden wedding. Everyone we loved was present and the day was more like a big gathering of family and friends.
What did your family and friends have to say about your wedding?
They found it very beautiful and special, especially the part where we had our traditional Chinese wedding ceremony at the hotel. It was new to many of our friends in Penang, so it was a pleasant eye-opener for everyone.
Share with us a memorable or special moment from your wedding.
Jim: There were many such moments, like Cannas’s vows to me during our solemnisation ceremony and when she sang during our march-in. Also, it was extremely heart-warming to witness our friends enjoying themselves at our wedding. Everything fell into place and it was just perfect.
Cannas: It was exactly the type of wedding I’ve always dreamt of and Jim made it happen. Everything was perfect and I enjoyed every moment of it!
