Celebrate Love with WhiteLink

On 4 August 2013, Mandarin Oriental Singapore’s Oriental Ballroom was abuzz with excitement as WhiteLink showcased their latest bridal and evening gown collection to a roomful of eager brides and their grooms-to-be.
Couples were in for a rewarding day of fun and fashion as the afternoon’s show commenced with an early lucky draw and a preview of Coffee and Tea Dreamzcoffee’s wedding animation. Mediacorp artiste and WhiteLink’s spokesperson, Nick Shen, was the afternoon host, and together with fellow Mediacorp artiste, Tracy, he turned the fashion show into a warm and fun session as they played the loving couple and modeled the collection.
The boutique’s in-house designers played with familiar silhouettes and necklines to create a good variety of gowns to cater to every bride-to-be in the room. The sweetheart ballgown with a ruched bodice and minimally embellished waistline is perfect for brides who wish to keep things simple and timeless, while the sweetheart ballgown with a fully beaded bodice and layered organza skirt is great for those who aren’t afraid of being the center of everyone’s attention on their big day. Look like a Grecian goddess with WhiteLink’s two chiffon numbers if big gowns aren’t your cup of tea. Flaunt your sexy side with a low V-neck sleeveless chiffon gown embellished with gold embroidery at the waistline, or opt for the more modest toga chiffon with gold embroidery at the bustier. For the brides who dream of looking like a princess on their big day, the A-line sweetheart satin gown trimmed with black lace embroidery at the bustier and hem, complete with black elbow gloves, is just the dress you need.
The evening gown collection was a joy to watch. Models worked the runway in a delightful splash of colour as they modeled gowns in shades of pink, yellow and mint. The afternoon’s showstopper definitely belonged to the gown modeled by Tracy. The black sweetheart ballgown featured a corset bodice trimmed with colourful beadings and a detachable multi-coloured tulle skirt. With Nick’s help, she revealed a shorter version of this colourful gown. Nick, on the other hand, models a bright fuchsia suit paired with black shirt and pants, presenting the perfect groom’s suit to complement her colourful gown. Together with the white suit with blue-checkered shirt and khaki pants that he modeled earlier, this fuchsia groom’s suit is particularly memorable as it represents the boutique’s designers’ creativity and adventurous move away from the usual black and grey groom’s suits.
Another memorable gown from the evening gown collection was a sweetheart organza ballgown in a delectable shade of yellow. Featuring a ruched bodice with crystal beading and layers of black trimmed skirting around the waist, this gown is not for the faint-hearted or shy bride. For those brides, WhiteLink’s silver-grey sweetheart organza ballgown with a fully beaded bodice offers just the right amount of modest and outstanding. The more traditional brides will be pleased with WhiteLink’s red chiffon gown with a V-neck and black lace embroidery.
Above all else, WhiteLink’s showcase of their latest bridal and evening collection demonstrated two qualities: variety and creativity. It was no surprise when brides and grooms-to-be flocked to their booth after the afternoon’s show.
