An Afternoon with The Wedding Present

The Royal Dream Wedding Show by Sheraton Towers Singapore had everything a couple needed for their wedding planning right under their roof. Held on 10 March 2013, couples happily joined Sheraton Towers Singapore and their wedding partners for an afternoon of food tasting, wedding shopping and bridal fashion show by The Wedding Present.
For the brides-to-be, that afternoon’s fashion display by The Wedding Present was without doubt the highlight of the day. After a brief introduction to Sheraton Towers Singapore by radio personality, Joe Augustin, the fashion show kicked off with The Wedding Present’s stunning new evening gown collection as models strutted down the L-shaped runway. Their evening collection featured gowns with smaller and sleeker silhouettes in almost all colours of the rainbow. Gowns in bold colours like fuchsia and fire-engine red, and the adventurous pairing of violet and silver should appeal to brides who enjoys a good explosion of colour, while the silver, gold, black and pale nude gowns will appeal to brides who want a more classic look for their wedding night.
For their wedding gown collection, the designers at The Wedding Present went big and romantic. Models strutted down the runway in the all-time favourite princess and ballgown silhouettes carefully embellished with lace, flower and crystal embellishments. The Wedding Present’s new bridal collection also featured gowns with a slimmer silhouette. The two that stood out that afternoon was an elegant V-neck goddess in chiffon with crystal and flower detailing and illusion waist cut-ins, and a unique high neck gown with a short skirt and a floor-long webbed-lace overlay.
Aside from the amount of attention to details spent on the gowns, it was hard not to notice The Wedding Present’s use of illusion necklines in many of their gowns that afternoon. The designers cleverly used illusion necklines to tone down the sexiness of dipping necklines and low backs without compromising on design. That way, brides-to-be who crave more modesty can still wear sexy gowns without showing more skin than they want to. Illusion necklines can also be used to create a sweet and romantic look when paired with a classic ballgown silhouette.
The gents in the room were not left sitting bored throughout the show. Grooms-to-be had the option of a full white suit lined in black at the collar with a white shirt and silver bowtie, or a light grey blazer lined in black at the collar and shoulders paired with a black shirt and pants. For the more adventurous, the collection also featured a red blazer lined in black at the lapels paired with a black shirt and pants and a neutral alternative in khaki with a white shirt.
For the brides-to-be that afternoon, the conclusion of the bridal fashion show without doubt kick started their wedding planning, starting with a visit to The Wedding Present’s booth after a thoroughly impressive and inspiring display of wedding and evening gowns.
