The Royal Dream Wedding Show @ Sheraton Towers Singapore
What’s the best way to spend your Sunday afternoon as a bride planning her wedding? Feasting your eyes on the latest fashion in wedding gowns and indulging in delectable pre-cocktail canapés during a wedding show at a 5-star hotel like Sheraton Towers Singapore, of course! Aptly named The Royal Dream Wedding Show, the grand annual affair took place on 10 March 2013 at Sheraton Towers Singapore.
Sheraton Towers Singapore is conveniently and centrally located along Scotts Road and is a mere stone’s throw away from Newton MRT station. Voted by Conde Nast Traveller Gold List as one of the best places to stay in the world, the hotel is well known for their outstanding quality standards, exquisite cuisine and detailed elegant furnishings. And indeed, Sheraton Towers’ majestic grand staircase was quick to welcome and impress the constant stream of couples upon their arrival at the hotel. Dedicated wedding consultants from the hotel were on hand to show the couples around and present them the Grand Ballroom.
With a maximum seating capacity of 540 guests and luxuriously furnished with contemporary carpeting and timber-veneered doors, the Grand Ballroom is perfect for big and elaborate weddings. Its pillarless concept also means that every one of your guests will be able to enjoy an unobstructed view of the celebration throughout the night. For a more intimate celebration, Sheraton Towers Singapore offers its Topaz room which seats up to 144 guests. The outdoors is also perfect for a small wedding celebration or an outdoor soleminisation against a romantic waterfall and the surrounding lush greenery.
The wedding consultants also took the couples on a tour of their bridal suites. Every one of their 11 bridal suites is specially decorated after famed heritage cities of the world and each one of them carries different furnishings and decorations. Couples were also introduced to Sheraton Towers Singapore’s wedding themes, Timeless Renaissance, Vintage Romance, Tiffany Amour, Midsummer’s Night Dream and Royal Passion. Five respectively themed table settings and decorations were set up in a partition of the Grand Ballroom for viewing. Their latest wedding theme, Royal Passion, features deep and luxurious hues of purple paired with glistening silver facets for a dash of royalty that promises to captivate your guests. A similarly themed dessert bar was also set up at the cocktail reception area outside the Grand Ballroom, with purple hued cupcakes and candies to usher in the brand new theme. Aside from this opulent wedding theme, brides can also pick from the timeless gold and white combination in Timeless Renaissance, the romantic, sensual and feminine Vintage Romance, the mystical setting of an enchanted garden in Midsummer’s Night Dream or, every girl’s favourite colour – Tiffany Amour.
Outside the Grand Ballroom, couples had more to browse through. The cocktail reception area also housed booths from Sheraton Towers’ participating partners, ranging from designer wedding gowns from The Wedding Present to quirky wedding favours and invites. Couples also had the opportunity to indulge in some pre-cocktail canapés that were served to them butler style prior to the afternoon fashion show by The Wedding Present.
Inside the Grand Ballroom, the designers at The Wedding Present were determined to dazzle and treat the ladies in the audience to a spectacular showcase of their latest designs in wedding and evening gowns. Radio personality, Joe Augustin, opened the show with a brief history of Sheraton Towers Singapore and a summary of its wedding facilities and services, and ended the show by picking out the winners for the first round of lucky draw. After the fashion show, couples adjourned to the Topaz room to partake in a buffet spread prepared by Sheraton Towers Singapore’s renowned Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant – a good opportunity for couples to get a taste of some of the dishes on the wedding menu.
At the end of the day, couples walked away satisfied and full of useful information from The Royal Dream Wedding Show. And for a soon-to-be-married couple, there’s no better way to relax and enjoy your wedding planning than to unwind at an elaborately planned wedding show such as the one at Sheraton Towers Singapore.
