C’est La Vie!
You know whom you’re going to marry and which ring is destined to sit on your fourth finger, but do you know what you’ll be wearing on your big day? If you’ve done your homework, you should know that cut, silhouette, material and colour are areas you should consider while gown shopping. But are you aware that the venue, wedding theme and size of your reception play a part in deciding what you’d be wearing? And then there is a wide array of bridal boutiques available for your choosing.
Are you overwhelmed yet? Don’t be. Let LaVie Bridal Couture advise you if a ball gown silhouette and long train would be more appropriate for a chapel or beach wedding, or if lace would look better than crystal beading. With two decades’ worth of experience in fulfilling the dreams of numerous brides, you can trust them to deliver your dream gown. LaVie Bridal Couture boasts two in-house designers, Jeff and Lewis, to cater to their brides and individual preferences. Prepare to be blown away by the variety of designs and expect personal service from the designers themselves.
More than just a designer, Lewis is also the primary photographer for LaVie Bridal Couture. Now, who better to capture the beauty of your wedding gown than the very designer who created it? Couples with a more flexible budget may opt for an overseas pre-wedding photoshoot, but don’t despair if you don’t have the budget for your photos to be taken abroad. Lewis has an amazing knack for uncovering unique locations locally that don’t look a bit like Singapore. Just leave it in his hands and tell no one; your guests will never guess otherwise.
La vie is French for the word “life”, and LaVie Bridal Couture is named as such because they believe that a wedding symbolises the start of a new life for the married couple. “Step into LaVie, step into style,” Lewis aptly coins a phrase to describe their passion to dress brides in fashionable bridal wear. And nothing makes him and Jeff happier than knowing that their brides walked away from LaVie Bridal Couture a happy and beautiful bride.
“That, and our love and passion for what we are doing, are what keeps us motivated,” Jeff gushes.
LaVie Bridal Couture is well known for their daring colour combinations in wedding and especially their evening gowns, perfect for brides who aren’t afraid of bold colours for their big day. LaVie Bridal Couture is also famous for their low back gowns with unique crystalling work at the back or shoulder and an exceptionally long train. If that’s your thing, then you know where to go. For brides who wish to keep a bit of tradition in your wedding gown, LaVie Bridal Couture’s new collection will not disappoint you. “Our new collection features a qipao with a halter neck cut in fuchsia for a younger, fresher and trendier look,” Lewis elaborates. “Of course, brides can expect the qipao to carry our signature low back as well. The new collection also comprises of crystal accessories that can be used to create different necklines or worn simply as a necklace to give gowns more than one look.”
“My inspiration comes from almost anywhere and anything,” Jeff reveals. “I especially like to draw inspiration from things and places most people won’t think to incorporate into their designs. Take Mother Nature for example – that’s one area most designers are not likely to be inspired by.” So, Mother-Nature-loving brides, you know where to go for your wedding gowns.
The one important advice a rookie bride should always bear in mind when shopping for a wedding gown, is to never base their decision solely on price. “Brides should always make a visit to the boutique before making any decision,” Lewis advises. “Try on the wedding gowns and see if you like the workmanship, fit and material first.”
“I’ll also encourage brides to do their research online and in magazines on the different bridal boutiques and the services they offer, as well as the different styles of wedding gowns before they visit a boutique,” Jeff suggests.
From the crystal work to the details on the hem, from the concept to the actual creation of the gown, from photography to the arrangement of the flower bouquet – everything is handled personally by Jeff and Lewis. So, leave everything in their hands and let LaVie Bridal Couture make your dreams come true and give you a wedding of a lifetime.
