Where to source for good printer

Hi everybody,

Just wonderin what is hotstamping? I basically want the kind that has the wedding pic as the background type. Any recommendations?

Btw, just called Acepro today, veronica mentioned that as long as the quantity does not exceed 300 the price for printing the inserts is $80, with photo is additional $30. But called another printing firm (Jasvy) they qouted me $70 for inserts, additional $100 for adding photo. Anyone knows why is there such a big diff?!

cheers,
Axis

Hi all,

Sorry for my ignorance. When the printer said the cost to print per card is $0.40 , does it mean $0.40 per page of the card or it cost $0.40 to print the whole of the card??

Hi all,

Another printer company you may like to try is "T. Dragon Industry Co." Their address is:

Hi kelsey

My contact person at Haroobee was Maggie. She is a very nice lady and will take the trouble to meet you instead of you having to go to Haroobee's office.

My cards cost abt $3.70 each. They were made from scratch as I did not use the ones provided by the hotel. However, they very kindly threw in extra cards, so in actual fact, it works out to $3.15 each. This is fully inclusive of card, printing and envelope - the paper and printing quality is excellent! I must add that I had to pay more because of the size of the envelope that I wanted (a bigger than normal square shape). If your card is the normal sized envelope (square or rectangular), it's a lot cheaper (possibly almost half the cost). Also, like I said, they will work within your budget.

Hope that helps!

Hi Coo,

The pricing is really reasonable! I am sure your cards are lovely.

Haven't done mine yet but I will be getting mine from AWT. Hope they are nice.

Hi everyone,

Can I just check, what the difference between 'hot stamping' and normal 'gold printing', aren't they just the same? ie. words and characters are in gold, but hot stamping cost much more, is the quality better?

Thanks in advance,

cocobean

cocobean

hot stamping is the shiny gold print on the card, those kind of printing whereby last time they'll hv shiny gold print on red color wedding cards. hope you know what i mean

normal gold printing is matt printing, usually will be printed on insert and tie with a gold string to the card.

i used normal printing for my wedding card as i find the hot stamping is abit passe. normal printing is cheaper than hot stamping

Hi Carol,

Is it possible for you to post your design on the page? Very curious to know what a $3++ card looks like.

This is a good one.

Speed Technology Enterprise (tel: 67410083)

http://home.pacific.net.sg/~speednet

I asked talked to them over the phone to discuss about an idea I had for the card. And although it took me bout 1.5 weeks to finally come up with my own design, they were really helpful and gave suggestions too!

My card was just a postcard with words and a photo of ourselves at the front and the cost was less than 200.

I highly recommend that u do give it a shot and give them a call. However dun be decieved by it's location. It's in Ubi.

hi hi
any comments on the following card printers:
1. Jasvy
2. Hi Tech
3. T Dragon
4. Acepro

My cards will be from Marina Mandarin. Looking for printers who can suggest how we can do something different to the cards provided by the hotel.

Hi enya
happy.gif

i'm using Tdragon cos they're Meritus Mandarins official printer.... but i realised in the many samples of custom made cards Connie ( lady fr Tdragon) showed me, majority were fr Meritus Mandarin... Cos frankly the 2 cards which they have really looks simple.... in the end, we custom made too. Connie's service is excellent... n she was able 2 prob the draft in onli a few days.... any revisions oso took a few days b4 the showed us the final draft.

Have u checked which comp is Marina Mandarin's printer? maybe can get a better price?

Enya & Seiko,

My gf Carol Tan, who used to work in marina Mandarin, actually had her card done in The Wedding Giftshop, which is just a stone throw away from it. I helped co-ordinate her wedding last year and I liased with Junedy and Serene. Check them out 6337 5512.

HI Blur

I juz collected my cards fr TDragon cos they were Meritus Mandarin's official printer... no regrets... cards were well-printed
happy.gif

Tks anyway

i think t-dragon way of working is a bit out dated and inflexible. just to get our cards printed, we need to go down so many times and need to wait for more than 2 weeks to collect 150 cards. what a joke.

enya,

try Acepro!!they are really good!!Efficient and able to come out with wat i want for my invites!
Do call them!I had my wedding last month at Marina Mandarin too!

Hi

I agree T dragon service is not so gd, my sis hv to make so many calls and trips downs since they made 3 mistakes in 3 different drafts of inserts..

They just printed "blindly" w/o checking anything or advise customers of which is the best way.

Anybody tried Jasvy printer. Pls do share ur exp wif me. Thks..BTW do they normally provide the gold string for tying oso? And wld they tie for u?
Anybody tried inserting their pix inside and wat is the extra charge like. Thks..

Hi MVP
happy.gif

My pix is outside the card, wif inserts, im paying 3 bucks per card. Tdragon also tied the gold strings 4 me
happy.gif

hi agree, yeah tt's right. and they cant amend the mistakes on the spot and show u and confirm straight away, tt's why hv to make so many trips down. so stoopid.

That's why i said, try wedding giftshop, coz they collect the cards from the hotel, tie up for free, and picture also free, but make sure you get Junedy or Serene who can type the artwork on the spot for you.The other staff, can't remember the name ---can't do much

Hi all,
Does any1 here have the printing pricelist from the Wedding Giftshop?
Would appreciate if you all can share as i'm deciding which one to go versus Acepro.
Thanks a lot!

hi all,

may i know for those paying over two dollars for the card is it because your hotel does not provide invitation cards?

Or is it becos the printing itself costs that much?

My hotel is providing me with the cards without printing..do you know how much roughly would that be?

HI all,

Not sure whether have all of u tried out the The cards shop. I got my invitation there and it cost me only $0.60 per card and if i get them to do printing will need another $100 as my order qty is very small. Do check them out as they have very nice cards at low pricing.

Here is the website:
http://www.the-card-shop.com/

Do let Shirley/ David know that you are recommended by friends and they will then show u those on special promotions.

Hi all,
I wonder if any1 out there can share with me your experience if you have sent your wedding cards for printing at ExpressPoint over at Bt Merah?
Is the px reasonable and how's their service?
Would appreciate any response as I gotta send my printing jobs by end of this week...
Thanks a lot!

Hi All,

My hubby & I designed our wedding card ourselves & it was a great experience.
If u are getting a printer to print your invites, I strongly recommend Kentrich Trade Press. They're really nice and professional. I had a deadline to meet, & i gave them less than a week to print the cards out, & they still managed to get it out, without ANY mistake & on gloss finish somemore.
My card was in black and white & only costed me $0.70 each. May cost a little more if u want it on color. I printed 300 copies, which only came up to $210. In addition, the guy even gave me many extra samples as mementos. Everyone said our card was simple yet nice. Most importantly, the card turned out beautifully !

As for inserts, we got some lovely lilac patterned paper (non-translucent type) frm a shop in M'sia at a very cheap rate.
All in all, we saved a lot of money coz we DIY'd mostly everything.

Thumbs Up for Kentrich for doing a great job !

We designed and printed our own invites, program sheet, envelopes, thank you card too. It was not cheap as we used quality paper, an excellent printer and lots of ink. The great thing is we had the same theme throughout and every card was personalised with the guest name printed. It was also a lot of work and overnight printing. But what was most satisfying for me was nobody could tell that it was not professionally designed and printed. The really observant ones appreciated that their names were printed on as part of the invite.
