Wedding Costs

Hi all,

My bf n I have started thinking about marriage and are trying to work out the total costs of putting it together and the amount seems it's mind-boggling expensive! The info I sourced from the web:
Wedding Rings - $10K
Bridal package & photoshoots - $5K (minimum?)
Photographer (for wedding Day) - $1k
Videographer (for wedding Day) - $1k
Ang Bao for Jie Mei - $1K (xiong di need to bao to them??)
Wedding Banquet (e.g. Marina Mandarin ($800per table), 25 tables) -$20K (reasonable assumption? Is there anything else to pay other than tables?)
Ping Jing - depends on family

Total about $40K *jaw drop*. Is this what u guys experience as well and anything I might have left out? *sweat* Would really appreciate on advice on the costs here. We might have to file for bankrupcy like tht

Minty S> My wedding is no wedding dinner one. ROM + Bridal Package + AD (half a day) only cost us S$12K.

Wedding Ring - S$2k+
Bridal Package - S$3388
Actual Day Photographer - S$2K
No Videographer
Ang Bao on AD - Less than S$800
No Wedding Banquet - If you dun mind can go for restaurant eg. Hilltop
Ping Jing - Settle by parents.

Mine is on budget one.. I dun see a need in a wedding dinner so we scrap it. So it depend how you want yor wedding to be.

I think the wedding ring budger really depend on individual couples, u can get wedding rings at a $1k too.. As for the bridal package & photoshoots, photographer,videographer, the prices are ard there but i think there are cheaper alternatives too, it depends on ur expectations... Some pple do without VG and took cheaper bridal packages or do not top up so many photos and spend ard $3k on bridal package only..

For e banquet, usually you don't need $20k cash upfront because pple will give u hongbaos, but prob u can factor in a safe cushion of like e.g. $5k-$10k if u really make a loss..And restaurants do offer better per table rates..

So don't worry, just plan ur wedding based on e budget u're willing to spend on =)
