well, my mum's friend's daughter.. yeah, she had a dinner at the beaufort and they gave out wine/bottle stoppers as favours. its quite unique.

but can u imagine giving out wine stoppers... each couple will bring home 2, and a family might bring home 5 stoppers altogether... abit...redundant ??

that's why i'm a horrible guest (tho i won't turn up late)... i normally leave wedding favors behind, unless it's edible or use-able hahaha

if not everytime i attend dinner with my husband we will have like... two sets of salt/pepper shakers... two cocktail stirrers, two bears that i will never display, two keyrings that i will never use... the wedding couple's photo that i will never display either.... the list goes on...

my husband's cousin got married few years ago and her wedding favor was the chinese 'ang ku kueh'. i thought it was unique and bears some symbol (got some meaning right?? but i don't know what it is). pretty cool

yeah, initially i impulsively wanna get the favors from dreamweavers, their favors are really nice, each item at around $5 (dun look at their retail price). i am sure i won't leave these things behind...haha!

My friend's wedding favor at Goodwood Park hotel was also from dreamweavers.

Although my HTB and me wanna give the best to our guests, we must be realistic also as we have spent so much on our wedding...so we just dropped the idea.

my sis once attended a wedding dinner and they gave out small bottle of honey. thought it was q cute too. its like tian tian mi mi!

i think a bride just needs to exercise some creativity and invest some time into possible DIY packaging. items like honey can be sourced from F&B suppliers and cheaper when bought in bulk, doesn't have to come from commercialised wedding suppliers.

rolls of organza and ribbons and you can do simple packaging with help of family and friends.

but that said... no guests will penalise you if they don't like the wedding favours, it's just a wedding extra.

if you're not fussy then spend more time and money on other aspects of the wedding.

hi milkyway, i tot rich vibrant colors will look good with the surroundings but i went down to have a look when they were setting up for one of their weddings. the bride chose calla lilies and hydreangas*spelling?*. i tot the set-up looked very classy and elegant. so i supposed it's up to u. whichever color palette appeals to u.

you can check out my blog (scrambledeggsbacon.blogspot.com) and over there i have links to other blogs who work on inspiration boards and color scheme.

Hi, i'm new here!

Hope to get some pointers from Beaufort brides!

Me and HTB are considering the Beaufort as our banquet venue as it was where he proposed and we thought that it would be a meaningful place to have our wedding. We were also impressed with the service of the Hotel during our stay.

However, we are also worried about any potential difficulties that our guests may have in getting to and away from the Beaufort.

For brides that had their wedding at the Beaufort, did you receive any feedback from your guests on transport to and fro from the Beaufort? For non-driving guests, is it difficult to grab a cab after the dinner (considering that it might be fairly late at 10-11plus)?

We are looking at 20-25 tables, probably in September/October 2009. Are there any nice venues that you would recommend too?

Sorry for rambling, we have only just commenced our wedding preparations (as he just proposed only last month!) and we are still rather clueless. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions/comments!

hi starrytulips. i totally understand what u'r going thru. in fact, i'm just as clueless. haha i will be hving my wedding in Sept 09. we initially had the same concern but we love the place too much to care abt anything else. after all it's our wedding. it's not too bad actually, the hotel has a shuttle going to and fro vivocity every half hr till 11pm. and if i'm not wrong there'r pick up points in paragon as well. u can consider arranging for chartered buses if most of yr guests don't drive. otherwise, cabs can be booked at the reception. so i think the guests will be well taken care of.

hi anita a,

thanks! that puts our minds alot more at ease now.

how many tables will you be having, and which ballroom? what are the other venues that you considered before deciding on the Beaufort?

Hi starrytulips, I had a look at Rasa Sentosa and Amara as well before deciding on Beaufort. All are very nice but each of the Sentosa hotels has its own unique charm. Beaufort has the smallest max. no. of tables (26 for grand salon or 15 for the smaller room). I think Beaufort is the easiest for guests as the shuttle is a dedicated one for Beaufort guests which I think the other two don't have when I last checked.

Hi 08,

Thanks for the info! Yes, I totally agree that all the Sentosa hotels are lovely. Could you share with me what made you choose Beaufort over the other sentosa hotels?

When is your AD?

hi starrytulips, i actually shortlisted shang and hyatt together with beaufort. beaufort won me over the very first time i went to see the venue because i felt at ease the moment i stepped in. felt that it was more 'us' than shang/hyatt. i'm having 20 tables @ the grand salon.

Hello! Am new to this thread and will be having my ROM and dinner at Beaufort next April.

I just found today that that they do not provide invites. Rather, they will recommend two printers to us. I appreciate if I can get some feedback on the two printers.

Thank you!

violac

Beaufort had never been providing invitation cards.

actually.. it doesn't really matter how the printers they recommend are. it's likely you buy your cards/paper from printers to begin with
unless you purchase cards from DIY stores or paper from craft shop or something...

oh sorry i get what PK is trying to mean. you want to get your blank cards as well as printing done by the recommended suppliers?

in my mind i thought you plan to provide your own blank cards and require only printing services. there are plenty on the market, you don't have to restrict yourself to two choices. mainstream ones you hear are t-dragon, tecman and many more you can find at bras basah.

i used cardblanche myself... very good, responsive and smooth transaction.

Hi all! I will be having my solemnization at the Lawn area(I think that area is called Ginger Terrace). I like to ask previous Beaufort brides-did you walk down the flight of stairs to get to the Terrace in your gown? Were you worried about tripping?

I am apprehensive about walking down that flight stairs in my gown and heels. I was thinking if i can get "hide out" in the function room next to the Terrace?

Thank you!

violac

think many brides have marched down that flight of stairs. you'd probably be used to walking around in your gown from pre-wedding photoshoots or moving around in the morning anyway.

a good gown should not be too long or too short. the length should be perfect for your height. in fact, you should not be grabbing your gown as you march in (it doesn't turn out nice in photos!)

Hi Stickymouse! Hope you still visit this forum.:) Have decided to do my cards with Card Blanche; thanks for your endorsement of them!

Did you do your ROM on the actual day? I will be so that means ROM @ 6pm, followed by cocktails and dinner. I would appreciate it if you can give me some feedback on such a program. Thanks!!

hi PK, i hardly visit this forum anymore but i get the postings sent to my inbox

glad you've found cardblanche good!

i started the holy matrimony at 6pm too, we were pretty much on time. try to encourage your guests to come for the solemnization so that the banquet can start early.

i remember a lot of girls have shared their photos here, it's not very active thread so it should be easy to backtrace

Hi!
Has could anyone share the program flow for buffet dinner?
I'm having problems planning for buffet dinner as it's gonna be difficult to get guests' attention for my 2nd walk-in and other programs.
Could anyone advise?

Hello Mwy! my AD will be in Nov 09..

can I just check with you girls, since we are on the topic of flowers.. are we only allowed to use these 2 florists that are mentioned by Cathy?

or can we enlist the help of decoration of our own florist?

Hello Rie! My package is the Sweet Serenity package which entitles us to 1 reception centerpiece, 04 floral stands along the red carpet aisle and fresh floral centerpiece for your Bridal and guest tables.

Cathy did tell me that if we want more flowers, we can work with the florists assigned by the hotels or get another vendor.
