The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Hi secretgarden, I booked their grand ballroom in june last yr as I knew december is a very hot month.(one of the ks ppl) I like the idea that we can have the whole floor to ourselves.:P I am choosing between Fourseasons and Fullerton cos they are rather similar. I can imagine a very romantic wedding there but Fourseasons cannot exceed 30 tables while Fullerton is simply love at first sight... Yours is a mth plus later than mine, guess we can discuss our weddings together:P

Hi secretgarden, I thought abt the stairs too. At first I wanted to take mermaid-cut gown but I realised I had great difficulty walking, let alone going down the stairs, in the end I chose a design that is more A-line and has a slight balloon look:P My BS is Golden Horse Awards. They have done a great job for my rom.:P

I couldnt remember the theme that they offer but I would want red roses and candles. food tasting should be in september. I am going for my photoshoot next month:P

Cool....i am still short listing the BS.
I will prefer something more elegant and also more "pong pong" gown =)

Oh that time i did ask Louis if they provide dry ice,he told me they don't and is chargeable for....
He say nowadays people will use flower boy/girl....and normally Fullerton seldom do dry ice effect.....

In fact i don't mind using flower petals for walk in ....how about you?
 
yes, that's so much cuter..my brother's 'forcing' me to use his kids as flower girl and ringbearer (despite his son, the ringbearer, being 9 years old - wayyy too old!). Am having my trial makeup tomorrow and food tasting this Saturday...quite excited!

secretgarden - for grand gowns, try Sihouette. Nice and big.

Hi Secretgarden, u might want to try sophia's bridal. Their gowns and photos very nice too. Wow... u oreadi thought of march in, thats very fast. I just settled my Videographer. Just signed with AtelierX. Almost couldnt get one in time. I dun think I will be having dry ice or flower girls.:P just walk in with my hubby once the violin starts playing.

Hi nitestarz! Thanks, i'm fine...very busy with home reno right now, rushing off after work every other day to look at bathroom fittings, lights etc. Most of the wedding stuff is on auto pilot now..though I haven't got my shoes yet. Any recommendations for nice diamante strappy silver & gold heels? By the way, are you doing a photo montage of any sort? Didn't want to do one but i do think the guests will be entertained by the pics of our youth. And especially the bits of info we are thinkin of putting in.

Secretgarden, Irene's Creation can be a wee bit expensive. They had some problems with high turnover of their designers in the past too. Having said that, they have some beautiful gowns. I'm with Amanda Lee Weddings - if you like embroidery and lace, that's the one to go for!
 
Hi brokenbudgie, I saw some nice shoes at novo and takashimaya, perhaps you might want to go there and take a look. I bought my rom shoes at metro though. Metro generally doesnt have nice shoes but that pair happened to be one that I like. you can take a look at my multiply. drop me a msg there if u like:P

I wont be having a photo montage cos my hubby felt its very common nowadays. I will only be showing my wedding photos. I rely very much on my live band to entertain my guests.

Amanda Lee has very nice gowns! You will sure look gorgeous.
 
Hi nitestarz, so you hired some band to play during yr wedding =)?

Quite headache in picking the ideal BS ...i do love lace...guess have to short list a few before going down....

during my ROM, i get my shoes at Far East Plaza,there is one shop on the 2nd/3rd floor that sell nice heels with reasonable price....can't remember the shop name thou... brokenbudgie will get you the shop name when i find my shoe box =)
 
hey guys, the trial makeup went okay! it was also my 2nd fitting last night and i'm really happy with the gowns! All the beading on the embroidery is done on the wedding gown...and the cheongsam's lace is 90% done. I'm glad it fits well.

Nitestarz - thanks for the recommendations. i went to the URL you mentioned but i'm not sure where to go from there?(?)

secretgarden - hehe thanks. i actually need 3 and a half or 4 inch heels! Hey, if you are looking for a bridal shop, look through the bridal mags' fashion pages. it really helps to shortlist the shops/styles you like.

heee i been buying wedding magazines since last year keke.....live band cool....nitestarz, can fullerton stage acommdate?
 
secretgarden, fullerton don't use dry ice partly cos of the stairs at the grand ballroom. if there is dry ice, you might not able to see the steps and will trip and fall.
 
hi secretgarden, actually I dun know whether my band will be on the stage or beside the stage.:P But they have the experience of playing at Fullerton so I guess should be fine. my band is from "A Little Dream".
I will be going for my gown fitting next wednesday. So excited to see the real thing. Hopefully it will be nice. I going to have a headache, got to choose another 4 gowns for photoshoot. haha another 3 hours at my bridal.

starting to get anxious as i have not been to any BS yet....happened to pass by White Link roadshow @ bugis just now, their offer package seems quite comprehensive "i think "....ladies what is the details i should look out for?

Hi Nitestarz! The food tasting generally went well. Bring an empty/hungry stomach because the food is too much for 6...look like it's still a 10-person portion.

Hi, like to check with u gals how many bottles of red wine will u be purchasing? Where can I get a good deal? How many barrel of beers u think will be enough? Hard Liquor? My MIL was asking us to purchase before July..

oh recently i pass by suntec carrefour area, think they are having wine fair,it will be good idea to get it first before GST increase since wine can be kept for long...
i might get at least 24-36 bottles of wine since nowadays people drink more wine then beer...
some wine company do on consignment...

Ooh, Secretgarden beat me to mentioning Carrefour. They have a wide selection of wines and i heard that the return policy is good. Anyway, ultimately depends if your friends drink a lot. 1-2 per table should cover it. I'm not having any beer but will be bringing in around 5 bottles of hard liquor, as this Straits Room event is only for family - and they don't drink much.
p.s. The Fullerton's wedding show is in end-July.

By the way nitestarz, in the end i bought my strappy diamante heels from Metro Paragon. They have a really elegant and wide range of silver and gold shoes there.

hey secretgarden, Silhouette was in my last 2 shortlisted shops. I really loved the large ballgown look that they do so well. What's the problem with them or not choosing them?

my FH think that their package is not comprehensive enough plus no photography included....well ya i love their ballgown really suit fullerton Grand ballroom
 
Hi everyone, my AD is 1st July 2007 at Fullerton! it's now less than 3 weeks already. So exciting.

Does anyone knows how to differentiate between duty free and duty paid liquor?

hmmm if i am not wrong duty paid liqour sold in Spore is only 750ml whereas duty free is 1 litre... not sure for wine thou....
