Solemnisation

Hi all, my wedding is on 25th Jan at orchard hotel. Can i just check how to go about inviting solemniser for the solemnisation? Can we call them or sms or email?? Is there like for specific location you can only ask this list of people kind of thing?

There is not specific amount when u invite ur solemniser. Just a token of appreciation in a angbao will do. And before your solemnisation, call them up to book them is faster the email. For the choices of solemniser can be found in the ROM website

Thanks for the replies! i went to ROM website to check out the list but they have a postal code thing. So i'm just confuse if there is like for certain area can only contact certain solemniser? Or we can just call and us if they are ok with our location?
I just feel abit weird and shy to call up someone and ask if they can solemnise our wedding. Haha! For those who have already done it, how do you go about it?

The postal code is a guide to check who are the JP at ya area. Normally they are more willing to help cos u are the resident of their district.

Otherwise u can always contact those popular ones.
it doesn't matter where u stay or held your rom. Is whether are the available on ya solemnization day.

For my case, the popular ones are all fully booked on my date, then i proceed to find those in my area.

U can always sms them if u find it awaked to call, so far those who we sms are quote promp on replies.

OH another thing!! just read in another thread. It is ok if we don't invite the solemniser to stay for dinner? Or usually couples will ask if he/she would like to stay for dinner? As my ROM will be before the dinner banquet.

Just wanna find out what's the norm so that we don't accidently appear as rude or impolite. Understand that these people are doing this out of their own free time like a volunteer kind of thing..

Normally couple will invite the JP to eat but normally the JP will not stay for the banquet.

If u got extra seats, no harm asking
