hope it's too much trouble if any of you have package details or photos of gowns to share. I was considering Z Wedding, but am wary now because of the negative reviews of customer service. Hi gals..
I have visited SIL.. After asking what i like from the gowns i have tried on, they gave a quote of $5500 for my package (mtm gown/rent, mtm gown keep).. sounds kinda ex as i wasnt looking into expensive laces. Btw..do they rent gowns for PS? I am thinking of probably purchasing the WG.. if I remembered correctly, was the price to pay $500? thx

my package doesnt include any photography. There are no laces, the one i tried on was more to beadings & embroidery in satin.. so they quoted me based on that type of gown is 5.5k..which is the most ex package. They say those drama types of gowns are the most ex initially ( like those very fanciful one they showed with pix) before i tried on their gowns. But the one i tried was not drama. So i find abit ex.
btw..do you gals know what type of satin are they using.. i have heard that the type of stain also plays an important factor on the construction of the gown.. there are like good duchess satin & poor quality ones as well as 100% silk ones. But when i ask them they just say it is duchess satin.
Me abit lost with the gown searching process.. didnt know that there are so many things to look into.. Actually when choosing for the cutting of gowns from BS.. how did you gals manage to tell whether are they good in cuttings or not cos mostly what we tried on are normally not in our sizing.. besides, wouldnt all BS produce the same cut based on what we want say mermaid, ballgown etc? Pardon me if this sounds ignorant cos me simply clueless.

duchess satin used at Sil r gd quality ones...they hold beadings n embroidery very well. but i'm curious, even if it is duchess satin, its still a bit pricey...can i ask, for the WG u tried, wat is the cut? issit ballgown with big big skirt n a long long train? and the embellishments...issit very extensive like all over the gown kind with heavy beadings/crystals all over? as for diff betwn duchess n silk satin..u can tell by the sheen..silk one is more shiny n is very soft n light to touch..n looks very luxe. silk satin can set u back another $800-1000+ for the exact same style of WG made by duchess satin. u can ask the designers to show u the fabric samples or WGs made by tis two diff type of fabrics(i did when i was BS hunting)

When I went down to Silhouette, Caroline attended to me. She was very friendly and encouraging, letting me try on many gowns of different cutting. I was hoping that she could give advice on what suited me more in addition to just highlighting the good points of each gown.

I will be having my trial make-up session first week Mar. Just wanted to find out more abt this before I go so i can be prepared. Any tips to share? Do i have to do some homework first before i go down or i can just leave it to them?

for trial makeup, u need to go down to Sil without makeup...alright to put on moisturisers n sunscreen. if u r doing fitting on the same day, do wear a front button blouse or a top tat can be taken out without going over ur head coz u'll be doing makeup n hairdo first b4 gown fitting..last but not least, if u hv a preference of style of makeup n hairdo, u can bring along some pix to show ur MUA.
btw, who's ur MUA?

I purchased an off-the-rack dress (which I changed into during the banquet; not actual wedding gown) from Silhouette Atelier and I was very pleased with the design of the dress, price and service. The dress was stunning and I have received a lot of compliments.
I thought the store has many beautiful dresses to choose from and the staff was friendly + helpful.
