Hi ling,

Just curious, after signing up with them, what's next, I mean, when will Minda come back to me to discuss further on the design. Cause we've more or less came out with a rough design during my last meeting with her. Hope she won't take that as the final design, cause I am so fickle minded, may make changes on the design again.

actually my case will be quite different... cos i'll be leaving for the US soon. don't think your first discussion will be taken as the final. u can probably still look around, cut out pictures from magazines and show her... blah. and maybe she'll be able to show you something similar that they've already done.

Just came back from my honeymoon. littlepanda and Madelaine, I've emailed the link to you.

Ryes, the Hilton was fantastic. At first I thought June, the banquet manager wasn't too cooperative, but in the end she really took the effort to make sure everything went well. Derrick, the banquet supervisor on duty offered really good service as well. He personally served my husband and me, and even ushered late guests to their tables when the table numbers were taken off. We stayed in the executive suite, which was HUGE! I didn't mange to get a day-use room, but my swordbearers had a function room to change and prepare in, so that was alright. My guests gave good feedback about the food and service. Don't worry, I'm sure your day will turn out as well as mine.

Welcome back! Thanks for sharing ur album..its lovely!!! I love your gowns....esp ur wedding gown of cos. Very elegant. Did u get the kua from Sil as well? I am just wondering if you topped up much more for your half lace and the long train etc..cos my entire pkg (excl photography) came up to close to 4.5K!! But Minda said that wat i wanted requires lots of work etc hence this is the price I hv to pay. BTW, which make-up artist did u get in the end?

Madelaine, yup it'll come up to this amount for a more elaborate gown. Borrow another gown for your photoshoot for better value... My kua is borrowed from Sil, FOC. The simple embroidery is actually quite flattering, as opposed to the heavily-embellished ones which are very stiff and bloated. My make-up artist is Gin. She's very good.

mudpie, they will provide enough car deco for the bridal car and 2 other cars. I had a gold theme, which turned out really nice against my black bridal car. I asked for feathers and pearls on my bridal bouquet for the actual day, and Miah created one which was exactly how I wanted. I'm really glad I chose Sil. My actual day photos shld be ready soon, I'll let u see them when they're done.

Mine was with Miah! and i Love Him to bits!! I had a wonderful time designing the gown with Miah and he was super patient with me and all my nonsense

Some of the other SIL brides are with Minda and i know that she is great too! i have seen her in action and was very impressed

Dun worry too much... just do your homework and have your ideas down and show them to Minda!

I don't think they hve a fix package, but think it's roughly ranging from $4k plus to $5k plus, depending on what you are looking at. I wanted a silk duchesse satin gown, and with photography, it's slightly less than $5k. But again, I'm not sure what other girls may have for their package, however, must say they are really very reasonable comparing to the other BS of the same category. Hope this help.

Minda is my designer but I hv not actually gotten anything done up yet as my wedding is only end next year hence no pic to show u yet...
I am confident that Minda can do a good job as I hv been hunting for a designer for a long time and she is the only one that gives me the confidence that she can create what I had in mind.

As for a feel of her design....I think she is not really constrained to a particular design or feel. But she has a good sense of what suits u or not..hence u can get her opinion of what style u shd go for.

When is ur wedding btw?

Going to meet her end Jan cos we intend to do PS in July, so must start gown design early. Perhaps u shd give her a call Mudpie, if u want to start early?

Yes, Mad i did hear abt Minda's sense of style. Sure hope to find out more abt it when i meet her. When will u be meeting her for gown design? =)

I'm glad this thread is coming alive too! Finally found two brides using the same BS and ADs are around the same time.

Mudpie - yah..I do have designs in mind already. Before I signed up with Minda, I have already told her what I roughly wanted as I needed to know if she is confident in doing it. Do u have any designs in mind already?

Minda also told me that the actual designing will start Jan 06...can't wait. I think I will be bothering Minda alot next year onwards!

I have an idea of what i want my gown to look like, but not sure if she is confident in doing it. Oh btw, have u started looking at flowers already? Cos i saw a bouquet in a magazine which i would like Sil to replicate. So expensive - paid $20 for a magazine entirely on flowers! FH was stunned tt girls can actually look at such mags!

Haha! My FH is also equally amazed at all the little details I am bothered about. Have not really thot of the flowers yet. I have a theme colour in mind so I guess I will let Minda suggest the kind of flowers to use. Still trying to look for a good and affordable place to do my decor for church etc. Which mag is this abt flowers?? Maybe I can go check it out too!

My AD is 2 Dec for church and 3 DEc for dinner at Conrad.

So what design u have in mind for your gown? Mine is 'inspired' by Vera Wang...something simple

Hi Count, what a coincidence, when in Nov 06 is yours? Mine's on 25th Nov. Wow, you're starting your designing in Jan? Hmm...Minda hasn't come back to me with the schedule. I did send her an email of a few designs I gathered, she replied saying that she would come back to me the week after, but never. Thought she might be busy with all those handing over since one of the designer is leaving, so, didn't dare disturb her. Maybe will drop her an email in Jan.

Mad, I've roughly told her what I wanted, and also sent her a few designs. I wanted a ballgown with long train.

As for my PS, I'm not sure when yet, guess Minda will help me to coordinate right? Actually, didn't ask her anything, just made payment and we went off. So, do we wait for them to get in touch with us or what? Can anyone advise?

Hey Mad, Conrad is a nice place! We liked the coordinator Catheryn cos she seemed very organised and efficient. But too bad cos the ballroom was too small for our guest list. Which church will u be using? We're using PLMC. Haven't looked at florists yet, though i have some in mind. What is ur colour theme? Btw, the flower magazine is Flowers Annual, which u can get at Borders for $19.90. They have pictures of bouquets etc. I'm still hunting for magazines with pics of church deco, so i can show my florist.

Not too settled abt gown design yet. Trying to decide btw the princess or girly look. Hahaha

Hey Mudpie, my AD is on 11/11/06 so it's 2 weeks before urs. Minda didn't come back to me. Rather, i called Sil up when i found out Heath was leaving and Minda very kindly suggested tt we come down and speak to her. Prob cos she wanted to reassure us tt all is fine. Maybe u shd call her if ur PS is in July as well? Otherwise, u could probably set up an appt in Feb. A ballgown sounds very grand but it's a pity tt i cannot carry it off. Only 1.6m so it would prob overwhelm me!

So where are u girls holding ur banquet, besides Mad at Conrad?

Very exciting - all of us are getting married ard the same time, and all under Minda! Can plan tog!

Hey Count, I am using Mount Carmel which is the church I am attending. Hvg a little problem cos the sanctuary has no centre aisle! But my friends said they will move the pews for me...keeping my fingers crossed. I will prob settle with the white and champagne/brown theme. Something simple and elegent.

Heard that Heath's last day with SIL is today!

My wedding was in end October this year and Heath was my designer. Loved my gowns and love Heath to bits!! What i really love about him is how easy it is to talk to him and how receptive he is about listening to your ideas and your opinions as well.

While i feel very lucky that he was able to see me through to my AD, i have heard so many good comments about Minda and Miah and I am sure that for brides-to-be under Heath, you will still be in very very good hands!

Wow, Count, your's just 2 weeks before mine, and it seems like you and even Mad, whose AD is in Dec, have alrdy got e'rything planned out. Oh no, it's difficult for me cause I'm not staying in S'pore, so can only rely on email communications. Haven't even confirmed my next trip back, only tentative, which is end May. Minda did mention that she'll squeeze my 2nd & 3rd fitting at ard the same period.

Count, u r 1.6m? But I am also 1.6m and Minda says I can carry it, even when I went to The Wedding Presents, the designer Patrick says I can carry it, with Duchesse Satin Silk which will give a grand look for church. That's why I've changed my mind about the material, cause initially I wanted an organza gown.

And you girls have also confirmed your church...?? Oh no, I have not even done anything yet. No church confirmation and theme planned out and now, we're even thinking of changing our dinner venue.
