Hi... what I would really like to know is how the gowns and makeup turned out... trial or otherwise. anyone care to post some photos? thanks... esp the MTM ones. cos they don't really keep a catalogue.

Kenji told me that the gown i chose although was OTR was a new piece. And also he said that after i confirm a gown, will not show it to others nor rent to out. Is this reliable

Hi bugs, allow me to share my experience.

My WG is also an OTR but new piece only wore once during their bridal show. We signed up with Silhouette abt 2 months ago after found my desired gown. On the spot, I saw Minda wrapping up my gown and keep inside the store, while chatting with others. So far, they only bring out my WG during my fittings and I've just taken my PS. So far, my bf and I were very satisfied with their services.

Hi Hira,
Thanks. Actually I just spoke to Kenji and he just reassured me once again.

I think I felt abit uneasy because of all the things my mother told me after I booked the gown!

Anyway I am all good now.. I must say that my SO and myself love the service and atmosphere with SIL, no complains at all. Looking forward to my AD!

hi gal, no worries. I know how you feel but just leave everything to them, I trust their professionalism.. ;)

welcome to the club ya.. btw when's your AD??

Hi Ladies,

Can anyone share with me the details of your packages, or the standard package that Silhouette offers? I am in the midst of shortlisting the BS and am very interested in Silhouette.

Please send package details to [email protected]

Many thanks in advance

Hi all,

I am currently looking for a bridal package. Had heard a lot about silhouette.

Who are the designers in silhouette. Who are the photogarphers that they work with.

A Confidante,

Had just read your experiences with Silhouette. Is it possible that they have rented your gown OTR to somebody else that is why they do not want to let you keep the gown?

Hi luv,

There are 3 designers at Silhouette, Caroline, Minda & Kenji. There are several photographers whom they tied up with, Chris Ling is one of them.

Hope this helps

hi luvluvlux...that's what i thought about A Confidante's gown too... i did try a fully laced, fully beaded mermaid gown, also with train in july in silhouette. I wanted to ask this privately because i don't want to cause undue alarm to all the ladies out there. I might just be paranoid, so ladies, please don't freak out. Confidante, if you still read this thread, can you please respond? The mermaid gown i tried is very small, a size 1 or 2.

Hi ladies

My fiance and I are quite close to signing up with SIL... just wanna check with all the 'old-timers' here:

Are the SIL designers good with MTM gowns, ie... can they actualise your dream gown?

And, I know they don't seem like they have a lot of accessories to rent out. Where do you get your tiaras, veils, gloves, etc. from?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Pinky.. I signed up with Sil in July and had confirmed my gown which is the mermaid, full lace, fully beaded with train... pretty small size.. ard size 1 or 2 like what you've mentioned...

By the way, can i check with you guys, what does your package include? Think mine is pretty steep.. consider that i only have one wedding gown which is the mermaid one OTR and i dun have evening gown... Not sure if its overpriced coz i realized that usually evening gown is included in the package but not sure how much it differs from mine....

hi youcansay,

i got my accessories at Chomel

as for designer i'm not sure coz my designer left Sil already...he did a great job 'actualising' my dream gowns
happy.gif
my suggestion is to sign with the designer tat u feel 'can read ur mind'...

hi pinky.. i'm not sure if its exactly the one but it sure sounds like it... then again.. if she hasnt returned her gown then why is it available OTR for me to try?? I'm confused.. nvm.. but that gown is really pretty...

by the way, Pinky, have you decided which BS to take? Coz my package only includes bridal gown, i have my own evening gown so im left with the tea dress that's bothering me. Not sure where to get my cheong sum done... have you decided what to wear for tea ceremony? kua or cheong sum?

Hi midas... thanks for your reply. Yes I guess we just have to go with our gut feel. We didn't really get to speak with all the designers but the one who attended to us has been the 'sure, sure, no problem' kind... I really hope it'll work out in the end. Anyway... will keep everyone posted if we do sign up with SIL!

hi ladies, if the gown that you see above is what you have been trying on even as late as july, i'm seriously disappointed with silhouette, they promised me not to let anyone else try it before my wedding on the 10th aug.

hi A Confidante, this wasn't the grown that i've tried.mine was similar but its a bustier. Urm.. I dun think Silhouette will allow anyone to try the gown when its confirmed by someone coz couple of times i popped down, they took my gown out from their room.. and in July, I actually saw this big gown which i was considering but i didnt confirm with them then. When i went down in Aug, I asked them if i can try the gown again but they said its taken by another bride so they wouldn't allow me to try it or even take a look at it..
happy.gif
That's why i really trust that they wouldnt do such a thing coz they are afterall a very reputable bridal boutique..

good to hear from you princessze..

anyway, i think all OTR brides ought to post their main gown pictures so that everyone will know what has been taken, so as to reduce likely embarrassment.

Maybe a thread should be started for this purpose? then again, i think most brides do MTM, and not OTR?

well, think Silhouette's OTR gowns are really gorgeous and very detailed... that's why i settled for the OTR one.. heehee
Urm... i feel that every design of gown is unique to the bridal shop itself.. by posting it up might lead to copycats .. hee.. that's how i feel la...
happy.gif

with regards to copycats. well, frankly speaking, after looking through so many bridal magazines, both local and overseas, there are just so many designs one can find on gowns, there ain't any gown that is unique to a certain place anymore. the most impt is to know which shape and designs flatter one most.

Hi Hi confidante! yeah. That's NOT the gown i tried.
happy.gif
It's good to know.Heard of studios who still loaned out gowns which have already been booked. At least we know we are paying for quality service at Silhouette. their gowns are indeed gorgeous.thanks for clarifying, Confidante.

Hi Princessze. Haven't decide on my bridal studio... my AD is still quite far away.

Sorry Princessze. I mean, I haven't decide on my cheongsum. I signed up with silhouette. I'm 'pinky' by the way. Couldn't access my original username of pinkcupcake for quite a while...don't know what happened.

My package is quite similar to yours. Just OTR and groom's suit plus the usual trial makeup and stuff. No photography.

And oh Princessze, i think i tried on the gown you took! heheh! It's BEAUTIFUL!! Very 'womanly' shape. Made me look like i have curves when i am actually straight like a ruler! ha ha!

In the end, i took a big, fluffy tulle gown. Wonder if you tried mine too...? Mine is a bustier and has silver embroidery on the bustier. I thought i might make my evening gown a mermaid-shape.
happy.gif
but not going to make it so soon.
happy.gif
like i said, my AD is far far away... trying not to think about gowns and all. Once i start, i can't stop!

And my apologies if i alarmed anyone about Confidante's gown. I'm just very, very paranoid about Bridal Studios in general and my gown! I don't know why!! :p Glad to read about your experience at Silhouette, about how they don't let you try gowns that are already booked. Really sets my heart at ease.

Hi Confidante, Your gown is really pretty. It's one of those timeless design that will look good even years from now. If you like it so much, why don't you ask them if you could buy it back?

Hi mei,

Sorry for being paranoid too. Just want to clarify. When did you try on Princessze gown?

Princessze,

When did you confirm on the gown since both events happen in July? Sorry just want to confirm too as i do heard horror stories about unethical bridal shops.

A Confidante,

Indeed your gown is very pretty. It show off all your curves.

thank you for your compliments.. well, now that I have seen all the photographs of the gown, from pre wedding to actual day, plus video coverage, i think the photographs are adequate. i do not need to keep the actual gown in order to remember it in all its splendour.

Hi Luvluvlux. I tried on the gown in early july. Probably before Princessze booked it. The last time i tried it was 11 July. Hope that helps. When i asked PRincessze if she tried mine, i was thinking that perhaps she tried it before i booked mine too.

I think what Princessze said about them not letting her try a particular gown once it was booked assured me that Silhouette should be trustworthy. But i think it's still good for us to share information and doubts here.
happy.gif

So luvluvlux, you still looking around for BS?

Hi confidante. Yeah. I think the photos should be good enough. Buy the gown already also no chance to wear again.

hi Luvluvlux, I think I confirmed my mermaid gown end of July... and the big gown i've tried doesn't have silver embroidery on the bustier so dun think is the one mei confirmed..
happy.gif

hi mei,so do you intend to make a tea dress for tea ceremony? I'm still contemplating if i should make a cheong sum or tailor another tea dress from Sil... or maybe just wear my gown throughout (no tea dress).....

Hi Confidante, yeah i agree with mei. Think the photos are good enough coz you won't wear the gown again... so dun be too disappointed k.. By the way, you look really pretty in the gown.. very curvy..
happy.gif
Hope i'll look as nice

Hi princessze, don't think i will make a tea dress as i will have the tea ceremony just before my solemnization at about 6.30pm at the hotel. Don't want to change in and out - too troublesome. before the tea ceremony i will probably be out taking photographs in my wedding gown already.
happy.gif

But i may want to have an evening gown. just don't know whether i will be making it at Silhouette. Eh, princessze, you mentioned that you went down to the shop a few times after booking the gown. You went there to try it on again? For fittings?

princesssze

New Member
hi A Confidante, yup I'm trying to slim down now.. heehee

hi mei, because i'm Miss Ma Fan .. hee was actually contemplating if i should use the mermaid one as my wedding gown or evening gown... coz i wanted something very big as a wedding gown but fell in love with the mermaid one which wasn't what i used to imagine my gown to be...
Moreover, i've got another pink 'pong pong' gown which i tailored in Australia... haha... that's why went down few times to try their big gowns and see if i can find something really nice then will use the mermaid as my evening gown and my pink one for solemnisation and tea ceremony.. but now have decided to use the mermaid as my WG coz nothing seem to be able to replace it.

hi mei, heehee... think they are pretty good...
happy.gif
nope i took only pre-wedding with them coz for AD, i have my own photographer (intro by my sis-in-law) .. it comes in a package (Photography, Videography and video montage) which i think is pretty cheap. And heard that they are pretty good as well...

hi all,
just want to share my experience with you gals...the first time when i went to Silhouette, i did fancy some other gowns which is booked by someone else but the designer told me is not for trying....
of course i don't want to insist knowing then when i pick my own OTR WG, i will not be happy knowing that the gown i book is try by someone else..
so after reading the posts here i guess we can trust their credibility
