I have ROM in 2007 and all my relative and friends have already been information I¡¯m holding my customary in Jan next year.
I¡¯m only 22 now and I realizing that I have made a wrong choice. What can I do now?
In real fact, after I begin to start working, we have been quarrelling everyday.
I wanted to divorce but we have bought a flat. Can I filed for a separation and back dated it? Will my customary dinner date be a problem when I back dated the separation?

too young,

From reading your post, you did not mention what caused you to quarrel everyday. Are there some deep underlying issues in the relationship or is it that you both are just stressed about the wedding preps etc?

My advise to you - take a step back. Try and see why you are feeling this way. It could be just stress, or it could be a voice telling you that perhaps you shouldn't be going through with this. Postpone the wedding if you have to. You can always get back together when you are sure of each other again.

I was in your shoes years ago, except that we didn't quarrel everyday. I just felt that this relationship wasn't right. We hardly talked nor knew each other. Just got married because it was time for the next step. Natural progression. Wrong reason to get married. I ignored the little voice in me and went ahead with things. I am regretting it now. It's a lot harder to resolve matters when you are already committed.

Just my 2 cents worth.

too young,

Why do you still want to hold the customary dinner in Jan 09 when you are already contemplating separation and divorce?

I am not in legal line, but I think its common sense that the judge/ lawyer will questioned about the customary in Jan when you intend to backdate the separation. How can 2 person be officially separated when they hold their customary dinner during their separation period?

Hi, there is no separation start date to backdate to now when you marriage has not hit the minimum period of marriage of three years yet.

doll:

let me clarify.. 3 years must be fulfilled, before seperation can be filed even?

what about divorce, for unreasonable behavior? or even adultery? need to wait out 3 years?
