Ring Pillow - DIY

hey gals

i would like to DIY my very own ring pillow for my solemniztion.
but i not too sure how to sew the pillow after stuffing in the cotton.
the 3 sides ok for me but how about the last side of the pillow.

Hi Joleen

For the fourth side you sew about three quarters of that side (i.e. leaving a gap for you to put in the stuffing). Once you finish stuffing just hand sew the gap.

But if i sew 3/4 of it, the remaining hand sewed
wont the stitches be seen?

Joleen, you can use some lace to hide your stitches.

I actually hand sewed my entire ring pillow. Took me a couple of nights to finish it, coz i also did some embroidery. U can see it at http://allynkeith.multiply.com/photos/photo/1/164

I used pink satin, some white lace, purple ribbon and some purple flowers. The embrodiery was done in maroon thread so that the words will stand out.

The picture I took wasn't as good as what my photographer took. My ring pillow looks better when placed in front of Mickey and Minnie.

No the stitches won't be seen if you use the slip stitch.

Ha! Ha! Joleen it is going to kind of hard to show you how to slip stitch on here.

So I tried googling for you. Click on the link within the link - ok I know this sounds corny! There is a picture of a slipstich which should give you an idea. They are very small stitches so it shouldn't show thru'. They are stitches that we also use on hems of skirts or trouser bottoms. Anyway hope the info helps.

not sure if they do for urs... as they might need to unsew the pillow inorder to sew the char

Just a sugguestion.
Maybe can do a cross stitch precious moment ring pillow.. Its nice.
You can sew watever you want on the pillow
