mine is on 9 June 07. I heard they will be having the wedding fair in feb or march next yr and the list of perks under the wedding fair includes 10% off, 10% more cards, corkage waiver and additional nite stay. Will email u the complete list of perks once i get the contract from hubby.

The bliss package is the high tea package rite? Think the perks might be slightly different from the wedding dinners one. I just sent u the email on the perks I got. Sent u the links to the themes too.

I suppose the perks should be different but can use as a reference, as I am still thinking whether to hold the wedding dinner at RTC.

who is your current coordinator? Is it the Manager, Judy? She sound unfriendly over phone. Sigh

Kitty - for the 2 times I talk to Judy, i felt quite irritated..But I have not met her in person, hopefully, she is more friendly in person...

And I have quite bad experience with RTC on the booking of date. I repeated ask Judy to block off a date for me, but it seem that she did not do it. Could be due to the hand-over from Jandy to her

I heard that RTC is booked fully every weekend till Jan 07 and so far, had not heard any major complaints in this forum.

Have not dealt with Judy before and I am not sure she is my co-ordinator after Jandy's departure. How many co-rodinators are there in total?

for the 10% discount at the bridal fair, u just need to meet the minimum number of tables ie 30/35 tables for weekday and 40 for weekends. It is 10% per table. Beer, alcohol, corkage charges are excluded.

I've had the same experience as you. Had spoken with Judy on several occasions and i really do not like her attitude at all. she had those take it or leave it attitude.

Jandy was totally the opp! so friendly!! Although i really like the ballroom and reception area, with her kind of attitude, i going to be looking at other venues!!!!

Jandy has actually prepared a proposal on hi-tea buffet and a small dinner gathering for me. But judy now said the price for dinner in my proposal does not apply and said should be higher. ARGH

I should be taking RTC for the hi-tea buffet(bliss package) at least, despite her attitude. As the bliss package is one of the most reasonably priced (I do not have a lot of budget to play around with), and not many hotels/places do hi-tea buffet for church solemnisation.

when is your wedding? if you have the time, can really look around for other venues..
 
Wola, Me too have gotten the contract from Jandy. Just waiting to go down to pay the deposit and sign the contract. My wedding is in Dec07 but the few dates that i'm looking at were mostly taken up. I've checked with Sheraton and Merchant court. Orchard hotel is out becoz my sis just had her wedding there.

Any recommendation? i'm looking at ard 35 tables on weekends.

Sorry, cant able to give you any suggestion, as I did not do much research on dinner banquet, as I only am planning to have a small dinner gathering for 8-12 tables.

Anyway, Jandy only prepared a proposal for me, not contract. I am going to meet Judy next week to draw up the contract. Dun understand why Jandy gives me a proposal instead of contract

If after meeting Judy in person, my BF and I are still not comfortable with her, we may source around for a church to do our solemnisation.

so far... the wedding dinners at RTC are okie. It is just the co-orinators' attitude that needs improvement.

SP... how abt grand corpthone, regent, amara, pan pac etc... i think they can take 35 tables.
 
Hi everyone....have been looking through the thread and realised everyone had the same BAD experience with Judy. I totally agree. Spoke to her a few times over the phone and met her in person once. She is totally unfriendly and can I say RUDE over the phone....in person still ok...rather "aunty type" though...
The thing is RTC is offering me our first choice wedding date in Oct07. Have another offer by Merchant court on 2nd choice date....now i am seriously considering letting go of RTC cos cannot imagine how my big day is going to be if her attitude is still like dat...
Has anyone heard about the food quality at RTC as well? any comments?
well...the few big plus points of RTC are the pillarless ballroom, great recept and fantastic bridal suite....we went to see the room. Its real nice =)
 
haha... wonder if we can call up/email the management to reflect the concerns over the service quality.

So far, the food at RTC is supposed to be not too bad.

I have yet to formally speak to Judy. My previous co-ordinator is Jandy. Any other co-ordinators besides Judy?

I have met up with Judy in person. She is nice and friendly when you talk to her in person. She sound totally different compared to talking to her over the phone.

Maybe she is the kind that do not like to converse via phone, that why she sounds so rude.
 
hi Wola.... I'm glad you feel more comforatable talking to her in person! You prob may be right....but well...maybe bcos i work in the service industry too so i expect a min standard for services i receive, esp from these kinda places....ya know....=p

I've checked with novotel clark quay and Swissotel MC. the 4 dates i'm looking were all booked. the rest like regent/pan pac were all way out of my budget.
So i've decided to go ahead with RTC.

Met up with Judy yest in person to pay the deposit. She's quite ok although still not as friendly as Jandy. But well, I guess still acceptable. Hope that everything will turn out alrite.

Just dropped u an email on the perks. Just take note that mine is a wedding dinner and not sure whether it will be applicable to the bliss package.

If i remembered correctly, u can get $5 off the wedding bliss package per guest (min 100 guest) if u sign up during the wedding fair. Can try to see if she is willing to do so for yours. Alternatively, can ask them to hold the date for u and u can sign up during the wedding fair in March to get the perks.

Complimentary use of LCD projector

Additional 5% of wedding cards for guests

$100 F&B voucher

Waiver of corkage charge for wine and champagne

One complimentary lunch buffet for 2 at RTC cafe the following day of wedding

10% discount for Lemon Blossom and Orange Blossom Package (Must meet the pre-requsite package)

They are quite flexible with additional cards and free car passes. See if u can negotiate that in your contract.

anyone had hold their ROM at RTC?
I be having mine in fed 07.
Still deciding on the High tea menu.
IS the food good? Do i have to order more to make sure everyone has more than enough to eat since it's a high tea only?

hihi snoowy : u should go to the wedding fair to check out the decor and display for high tea and get the perks that they offer at the fair.

i heard that the fair is in march, but my rom is in feb. so a bit late.
There is min decor for my function room, they mention if needed, i can add in myself.
Not much time left, and min budget, think got to make do with it.
 
hi snoowy, hmm... rather late.... are u using the function rooms or the main ballroom? if the main ballroom, the ballroom itself looks okie with min decor. Anyway, save on ROM and spend more $$$ on AD

Let say you have 33 pax coming u can juz order 30 pax cos I got a lot of leftover food..

I had my ROM last Nov.. Jandy was great and the service there fantastic. The food was nice and we got alot of leftovers.

Hmm, we had about 60pax but ordered only 50pax in the contract. Snoowy, hope this will help.

my pc was down past few days. So only able to read ur msgs now.
I shd have read earlier, cos i actually more food for my pax....left over a lot!
The wedding planner was pretty new, so a bit blur.
Was not very satisfied with the over all service, but glad that my guests liked the food.
that's the most impt!

If you had 60pax but only state 50pax in the contract, won't they only provide you seating arrangement for 50pax? Then where the other 10pax is going to sit?

Also, what are the decor provided? Is there any flower arrangements on the bride's and stage's table?

I also planning to have my ROM at RTC in Aug 07.

i just had my rom there.
are u having ur ROm at the private function room?
if it is, then same as mine.
They provide me with seats according to my no of guest.
I think you can ask then for extra seats, but the function room not very big thou.
Not much decor thou, but i like the flowers provided on the stage table and the cover of the seats.
I was told that you can add in your own decor if u want, but got to do it yourself

I am having it at the ballroom due to the no. of people I am inviting. I have visited the place and found the place to be nice too. But so far I am not really sure what decor they will provide me. All I know is that there will be red carpet for me to march in and seat covers with ribbon. I am also quite concerned with the flower decor but since you mentioned you like the flowers provided, I am more reassured.

Btw, who is your sales coordinator? You mentioned she was quite new and blur? Was afraid it might be the same person I contacted.
