Raffles Hotel

hi sher, i think not possible cos the coordinator told us RH is a small hotel with only 103 rooms and all 103 are suite rooms. So they are all the same, unless u are talking abt the presidential suite on the 2nd floor

hi coco, they have another type of suite called 'palm court suite'...usually given to couples who booked the 'grandeur' set...so i guess i can try that suite but gotta see the size first...=p

hi coco, i signed up for the chinese menu, dinner..

i feel its a cosy and yet grand feeling at raffles hotel...afterall it's a heritage hotel and one that represents Singapore..im just diappointed with the size of the bridal suite so far, food wise, i went for the wedding show and i'm happy with the food...they have very good services but tends to be a little sticky about things...esp when it comes to extra things, everythin is about $....

but where else in Sg can you find such a grand, victorian ballroom???

Sher: i guess no hotel is perfect in everuything.. maybe you rank your options? You want good food, nice ballroom or big bridal suite? so mayybe by doing this, u will know whetehr RH is your choice...heez... like for me, we din even look at their bridal suite and we feel we love the ballroom, the overall feel of RH.. and we signed..to us we think food, service and ballroom is more impt than bridal suite..cos we wun spend a lot of time in suite..only wan to rest and enjoy each other company... so think abt it!!cheerios!

ya i like the overall feel too... very grand and elegant but also feel that they are not so generous with all the perks unlike some others...

hi aveline, did u sign for the western or chinese? lunch or dinner?

hi aveline n coco: i do agree the grand and elegant feel of the ballroom is one of the best in Sg...Food wise, i'm pleased with the standard too...i was reali disappointed nonetheless when i saw the bridal suite...

it makes things worse when u have colleagues or frens who like to compare their wedding with urs...keep hearing comments that we spent so much but got such a small suite etc...blah blah blah...i wish i can shut her up....i guess i shall ignore her....her's a 4* hotel and she thinks its the best of all...

ok, i shall be happy wif what i have...afterall, how many get to hold at Raffles???...hahaha....

I went down for the 3rd time to view the venue today... My bf's concerned abt the foyer being heaty esp if we hold a lunch session..and this is the main reason why we hv not sign up with RH.. everything else is perfect

Coco: they have those antique fans in the foyer rite?..guess its not that warm afterall...

thanks gals for the encouraging words...now i feel so much better...most guests won't see the bridal suite, onli the ballroom...whoever says anything negative about Raffles that day, i will shut them up...hahaha....

anyway, i've been stalking this forum for some time, had finally bothered to register myself and make some contributions.

BTB on 6 Dec 09 at RH, doing lunch. =))

BTB on dec 2010.

Hi, i always wanted to hold my wedding at The Lawn till I attended a wedding at The Lawn in july this year. The place is really stuffy thought the bride n groom have rented coolers. And alot of guests are complaining about the weather. So i decided to hold it in the ballroom instead as i do not wish that my guest will complain throughout the wedding.

As for the perks, there is really not mani perks at RH, but i requested the planner to exchange the stuff i do not require with more wine for the actual day. They are actually quite flexible and responded very fast.

Maybe you would like to swope some of the items with other things that you want thus saving some cost.

Hi qwerty,

I did my ROM at Raffles Hotel last August. Will PM you some pictures. Overall it's a memorable ceremony. Solemnisation at Lawn followed by lunch at the Casuarina Suite.

On a side note, I'm providing photo montage service for wedding couples. Let me know if you need someone to produce a childhood or wedding montage for your wedding. I can show you my montage upon request. My email is [email protected].

Hi,

I am interested in having my wedding at Raffles Hotel in Jan 2011, but they have not open their dates for booking and said it would be in April.

Can anyone let me know for solemnisation at the lawn followed by dinner at the ballroom, would it be additional cost? Does anyone have pictures of the ballroom? It looks nice at the website but they have only 1 picture.

Can email to me at [email protected]? Thanks.

Yup, I had just received their wedding packages. Had also signed up for their wedding show in April. There is quite a huge difference in prices for weekdays and also weekends rates. When I spoke to richi, he doesn't seem very flexible. I wanted him to book a tentative date for my wedding date, but he don't accept tentative booking and have to wait till the wedding show. If we don't sign up during the wedding show, there won't be so much perks.

Anyone took or planning to take their Jubilee package? Any difference in the decoration and setup of e venue, compared to Classic package?

hi all,

i am new here and am considering four seasons and raffles hotel. i took a look at the ballroom pictures at raffles hotel, seem that the ceiling is a little low. Is that so in reality? has anyone attended a wedding there and felt that the ceiling is low? thanks!

Thank you Stressed Sheep for your comment. Really appreciate it. You could be right. If it's good for your tall aussies it should be alright for my smaller asian guests

. Perhaps I will go down to RH to take a look too. Are you having your dinner in RH then?

Hi all! I'm a 2011 bride to be and keen to attend the bridal show this Sunday, 11 April. Heard they are offering additional perks and tasting of the Chinese menu

Hi Richard, you're welcome

.. in fact the ceiling is really tall compare to places such as the swissotel. I'm looking at lunch banquet as its cheaper. We will prob do a party afterwards somewhere else for the aussies who love to dance and drink like mad...

To others, what are the dates you're looking at for your lunch or dinner banquets? Guess the bridal show is worth going to huh?

Hi Stressed sheep.. are you planning to have yr banquet at the lawn too? Fixed your AD?

Will be attending the wedding show this Sunday before confirming our venue =D

Hey Jovanka, we're doing the banquet at the ballroom but the ceremony at the lawn. But if it rains they said it has to be at the ballroom and payment for the lawn will not be refunded. Which is terrible.. so I may look at surrounding churches see if its possible to rent for d ceremony. sigh

we're looking at confirming only after the wedding show too!

Oh yeah..cya @ the show this sunday =D
Actually I'm thinking of having lunch banquet @ the Lawn, but just worried it will too hot in the day. So like you may consider banquet @ ballroom and solemisation @ the lawn.

Hi Jovanka.. er is there really lunch banquet at the lawn?? Never heard of it. Interesting..

Richard, its funny a day ago.. my fiance, an aussie said he felt the ceiling is low.. which is totally weird to me.. cos i think its considered high liao. maybe its different view for guys... but the chandeliers are great..
