Question on Make up artist!

Hi all Btb! I have a questions hoping someone can share their views with me:)

Recently I just did my trial make up( dun wish to mention with who yet ) but it's a make up artist by a bridal shop.

First she mention that helping to stick eyelash cost $20. Which I find it reasonable as what she shown me are very natural eyelashes created.

But later on, she mention that I must use her ampoule as she will be doing airbrush foundation for me, she scare my own ampoule will not be suitable for her airbrush. But logically, which make up company will create a airbrush that suit one type of ampoule only!!! That make up company will lose a lot of business???

So I wanna know has anyone encounter this? If I am not comfortable with this make up artist, can I ask for a change? Will the bridal shop charge extra?

Looking forward for you advises?

By right u can use your own ampoule.

Make up artist definately want to earn somemore money. However, you can politely reject her ampoule coz you have sensitive skin or what.

Is best not to pissed off your makeup artisit coz she will be the one who handle your makeup.....

Ya that's what I thought that's why I din response just smile when she was doing the trial make up. But she kinda insisted to use hers.

If you are not comfortable with your makeup artist, you can request to change make up artist.

Ultimately, you are the customer and I dun think you want to have a pushy make up artist on yr big day

Sounds like daylight robbery! Maybe u should call up the bridal company to enquire... or or or see the package terms u have signed whether they mention any change of makeup artist in the clauses or something. Good Luck!

Thanks girls! Ya I Guess I will call the bridal and enquire, apparently this make up artist is a free lance one not the bridal in house.

If that is the case , best to call up the bridal shop and feedback as the bs still be bearing the responsibility for engaging the makeup artist

wow $20 to stick eyelash that's very expensive..probably she wants to earn more

I haven't done my trial make up yet but I was told to pay $20 for eye lash and also, $30 for ampoule. My mua is also doing air brush technique which I don't know if my skin will be sensitive to it or not. :/

If you are not comfortable with the MUA or any vendor for that matter, it is best to just follow your gut feeling and request for a change, don't suffer in silence. At the end of it all, whatever anxiety, concerns that you may have, it will show on your expressions. So just follow your heart and give yourself the peace you deserve. On the same note, perhaps the MUA may have her own reason for insisting on using her own ampoule, see if she can explain to you techincally (in layman terms) why she insisted on it? If she can't answer, then you will know its for profit that the MUA is after and not so much about the ampoule and air brush may not be compatible (through my limited knowledge, air brush make up is another ball game and require specific training in handling and application)
