Hey All,
I would like to recommend an international photographer based in Sydney for those who are interested in his services. (Disclaimer: He did not pay me to do this promotion for him nor did he put a knife to my neck and threatened me. I did this purely out of the experience and the comfort level that I felt of his services.)
I am getting married in May 2015 and I got him to take photos for my pre-wed upon a friend's recommendation after I saw their pictures and went "Wow!" His name is Daniel K Cheung and he runs a AD photography business "Sutoritera" in Sydney. They have now branched out into family photography and he took upon his own wings to do pre-wed shoots under the brand-name "Photo by Daniel K Cheung". He previously did a lot of pre-wed shoots, but stopped after he started his team at Sutoritera.
My pre-wed was a little different. My fiancee is from a small Malaysian island called Pangkor Island. To travel to the location, we had to take a coach up to Lumut (8-9 hours or bum numbing ride) and then take a ferry (30 mins) to the location. I threw the challenge out to the photographers that I have shortlisted and without batting an eyelid on the time spent on the island, he agreed immediately.
The entire photo-shoot (we took 3 shoots in Pangkor because it was too hot and 1 shoot in Singapore).
Dan (short-form for Daniel) was very accommodating during the shoot and he made the shoot very comfortable. The time spent with him flew past just like that and till today, both my fiancee and myself are still reminiscing about the shoot and the times we spent taking the photos. The interesting thing is this, he will bring you out of your comfort zone to do some weird poses. However, when I saw the 'weird poses' shots that I thought would look really weird, I was taken aback. He just turned something weird into an impactful shot! I take photos of my own of families and couples in love and did not think that it would work. He just convinced me to think otherwise.
Nevertheless, what I can say about this young man is undoubtedly his talent. He looks at things in very different perspectives and produces some very stunning images. I remembered my friend's wife asking him "Dear, did you get the right photographer?" during his pre-wed shoot in Sydney, only to be silenced by his images.
Fret not! He will fly to Singapore for your shoot! (He did fly in for me.)
