pauline helped me booked conrad at corp rates last yr as my ROM pkg dun hv 1 nite stay but we wanted to rest in hotel after the ceremony

Had my solemnisation dinner at PJ on 17 Jan at the private room as I have only 20 guests. The food and service are great. Took the $408 set which comes with favours...

bebi, since mine is outdoor, so a mic will be better so as everyone can hear what we said esp i have 40 over guests. If ur guests are not that much, i'm sure u can do without mic. I din choose to have the mic, it was prepared by PJ stuff. They probably think thats the thing to do, since they sure have experiences in these type of events.
 
hi gers, im considering holding ROM at PJ in Dec08 too. i've emailed to pauline she suggested me going down to PJ to find Kenny/Pam for site visit as we have around 80 to 100pax.

We attended a friend's ROM lunch today @ Peony Jade. The food was pretty good, especially the smoked duck with chinese steamed bun. The dessert was delicious (mango sago with pomelo), fresh and chilling. The staff are very friendly and helpful too ..

The only problem is lack of exclusivity, as there may be few couples having solemnisations at the restaurant (different timing), but they do partition the guests accordingly. So I think it's not a big issue.

Overall, a pretty good place to consider holding your solemnisation

wow... many are having ROM in sept. Another one here! Mine is ROM and AD together. It will be before the guests comes in coz i dun wish to solemnise under the guests' watchful eyes

They let us choose 2 hotels, swissotel merchant court and conrad. We chose the latter. Erm the rate is $200+ for a deluxe room with king-sized bed, incl ABF. Sorry i do not have the exact figure, the agreement is with my fh

hi spoiltbabe, thanks. My contract with them doesn't have any stay cos its only a rom. But I was thinking that it's betta to get a room so that I can do my makeup and rest before going for the solemnization.
 
Hello everyone!

I'm a Malaysian, so will hold the customary back home next year in June, mainly for my parents' sake and only inviting relatives.

For now, I am sourcing for venue to hold my ROM cum AD in Sgp. It'll be in Dec this year. Intend to have something simple - just solemnisation then lunch for about 100 pax, mostly friends in Singapore.

So far, Peony Jade seems good. Am still liaising, nothing confirmed yet. Registered to this forum cos it's nice to be able to share your opinions and experiences. Good to hear positive feedback about PJ as I'm 90% convinced about this place.

For those of you still sourcing, like me, check out My Secret Garden. Don't think it's very well-known yet, but it is a place to consider if you want some place cosy. Rather difficult to locate as their signage is really tiny (so secret!). It's opp Fortune Centre, on Waterloo Street, behind the Church of St Peter & Paul.

I am considering between these two places. Argh, headache!! ;-p
 
Hi elltann... Initially we singled out My Secret Garden as well. Went there to try their food and also met up with the manager one evening. Whilst it is a nice place, personally I did not find the food very nice. And I didn't like the attitude of the manager as well.

Some people recommended PJ to us. Went there, saw the place and fell in love with it. Quality of food? Superb. Our wedding's over and everyone enjoyed it

I'm not demeaning My Secret Garden here, but I think you get better overall experience with PJ. It's value for money.

Was it Paul you spoke to? I found him totally unsuitable to be in such a people-oriented industry! He made me feel like I owed him money! The guy who attended to us the day we went was Ronnie and he was very nice and friendly. But Paul came later and he's the boss, so had to talk to him about the details. Maybe being the boss makes him big-headed, hahahaha!! His loss lah, bleah!

We'll 99% confirm with PJ this weekend after we check it out. Agree it's good value for money. Between Secret Gdn adn PJ, we'll save $1000+ for the 10 tables we intend to book if we go with PJ.

Hi elltann... Yea I think it was Paul. I actually liaised another girl over email but somehow ended meeting up with this fella. All I can remember... nice ambience, but food's not all that good... why he behave so ya-ya for what...

Hee... It just so happened you shortlisted the places like I did so thot I'd just share with you my experience.

I just had my ROM at PJ. we took the private room. The environment there very good and their service is very good also. Thumb up for their service ! =) As we got a lot changes and even on last min, but they still manage to coordinate for us. I like the ring pillow and pen that they prepare too. =)

Besides that, their food is nice and so far no negative feedback from my guests. Most of them said nice.

read a lot of positive comment here + recommend from my relative. we like the deco also.. ^^.
 
anyone had rom in pj wif restaurant shared by other rom-ing couples? (: i m having my rom @ 12.30pm n i understand there wil b another couple having theirs @ 11.30pm. does tat mean they r able to see mi rom?
 
Hi claire, it depend on where you rom. If you are using the private room, then you can't be seem. If you are using the stage, still not so bad but if you rom near the lift, then everyone also can see u rom.
 


hi mandy, i tink i chosen e stage... (: nt e private room... cuz i got 4 tables, they said private room is nt possible... hopefully, there wont be much noise disturbances from both sides :P
